Some of you need to realise that pleasing is a luxury brand and not an extension of Harry’s merch.

About the Pleasing aesthetic, I also think that people forget that Harry himself is a product of collaboration (specifically between himself, Harry L, and Molly) and has been a product of that collaboration for a long time.
If anything, the fact that Harry L and Molly are so heavily involved seems like a genuine tribute to the aesthetic the three of them have created, both for Harry and beyond him.
I don’t understand why people are so averse to the idea of collaboration, when every celebrity brand and aesthetic is curated by a team of people. Rihanna has stylists and creative directors for Savage x Fenty and Fenty Beauty. Kim K has stylists and creative directors for KKW Fragrance and Skims. I don’t see anyone saying those brands are any less Rihanna or Kim.
It seems like people are fixated on measuring Harry’s involvement based on his social media contributions which that’s neither what defines a brand nor is it indicative for creative input. Seems like people just want to be hyper focused on all the ways Harry’s not “accessible” in the very specific way they want him to be.
There’s some tea in there. Yeah. I agree with you.

honestly i like that you’re being a negative nancy it’s refreshing compared to the rest of my dash sksjjsjs
🤣😭 like don't get me wrong, the art is gorgeous and that little frogrry is so cute i want it lol
i just am so put off by harry not talking about it outside of print. it feels like they just tried to fix what they fucked it last time and a lot of it just comes off as manufactured.
like if it's molly and harry lamberts project and they had harry help them kickstart it then fine that's cool but say that.
harry seems so uninvolved overall and they are trying to sell something with luxury prices to teenagers. i just don't get it tbh it's all a bit baffling to me
and the way they make harry sound in these print interviews 🥴🥴 like who is this shmuck? lol and then i see people being like "uwu he was probably high while saying that" like ok i might be stoned half of the time but i highly doubt harry is 😪😮‍💨
it just seems like a pet project of harry L and molly and an azoff circle jerk to take money from teens' parents
sorry 😢 people on my dash are probably like "damn jordy you must be fun at parties" and what i say to that is "you all already knew i ain't no fun at parties 😌 i'm sitting in the corner on discord"

Hi Daisie,
How are you? I really value your opinion on stuff, so… what do you think about Pleasing using Mick Fleetwood as a face for marketing? Feels such a long way from trying to target young-heterosexual fans. Personally, I totally love it though.
Hi dear,
I don’t think their marketing is done in that way at all. I’ll be honest, so far their marketing has been really weird to me. Especially for a beauty brand. They haven’t marketed Pleasing in the way other beauty brands market it. They’re kinda doing it the way music is marketed. They have small drops you sign up for, they reveal the product a bit before, and they even had a pre-sale access code for the first drop. That’s how music is done.
They’ve also not really made huge efforts to secure a target audience outside of fans. They didn’t send many PR boxes to influencers, and the few that they did send, were not even “beauty and skincare” influencers. I also saw many beauty influencer go and buy the products on their own because they wanted to test it, but they weren’t sent any PR. Most of PR was sent to family and friends. And those people are all music industry adjacent.
Them casting Mick doesn’t really detract from their audience of “young-heterosexual fans”, because they’re fans. It would be more of a risk if they had been working to secure a target market of beauty interested people. But they haven’t quite done that. They’ve stayed mostly within Harry’s music world reach. And Mick fits right in that world. He also has a personal connection to H, and H has a personal connection to his music. Also, Mick being Fleetwood Mack encompasses the theme of this collection perfectly. It’s all about 70’s psychedelia. Shroom Bloom. That’s when Fleetwood Mac was the “it” band. They’re part of that cultural and musical movement. He’s also not the typical person to be the face of a beauty campaign, being an older man. But this is exactly what H, Lambert and Molly have been striving for with Pleasing. Pleasing wants to dispel the myth of the binary existence. So they’re marketing is following those ideals. They’re not casting or partnering with the typical faces we associate with beauty (aka young cis looking women, models).
Also, in a way, by having Mick as the face of this campaign they can gain access to an older clientele that usually would be harder to reach for such a brand. Tho I doubt this is the main point of it.

I think the only thing that surprised me about the Mick interview is that it was very much a more toned down tone to their relationship. Like, yes I think they’re absolutely friendly and cordial and stuff, but I’ve never had the sense that Harry was truly besties with either Stevie or Mick. Not in the overdone promo way it’s been presented since 2016-17. And certain things Stevie has said have shown she obviously doesn’t know the whole Harry (like her comment on wear the dress if it gets you a Vogue cover which is obviously not what he was doing). And Mick saying they have ongoing conversations and he’s great but also that they were ships in the night and didn’t really interact. Thing for me is that I love knowing the authentic more true, even if it’s less close, relationship Harry and the guys have with others in the industry than overblown exaggerated PR things. This felt much more genuine and like he simply likes the Harry he sees or speaks to occasionally and enjoyed the message and vibe of the launch so wanted to do it. That’s nice. That’s enough for me.
Yeah, I agree with you on that. It felt much more natural. They went overboard with Stevie. I do actually think H is closer to her than to Mick, but I don’t think he’s hanging out with them on the regular, by any means. But his team does like to push the idea that Harry is besties with legends etc. and 100% I prefer the more real accounts than the big, overdone PR stories.

Say it, I want to hear your thoughts, I will not tell anyone 🤫🤫🤫🤫😌😌😌😌
here are my thoughts:
if harry is selling nail polish, i want to hear what it means to him. i want to hear how he used to be afraid to wear it in 2012 and asked if it could be taken off quickly. i want to hear about when he would paint his nails by himself and tell no one, removing it before exiting his bedroom. i want to hear about what in particular about it made him feel feminine and what feelings that sparked in him. i want to hear about how he became comfortable wearing it out of the house and how he was forced to remove it before appearing on stage. i want to hear about the colors he first experimented with and how he learned to paint his own nails and what drug store brands he originally bought. i want to hear what it was like wearing a full hand of polish out for the first time to a public event felt like.
i would like to see him painting his own nails with the product and smiling while he does it, not a woman kneeling at his feet to do it while he looks bored. i want to see him mixing colors and chatting with the mixologists. i want to be able to see this on the shelf on target or walgreens. i want to be able to afford to maybe buy one polish set without needed to sacrifice what i make in two work days. without spending what i spend on groceries for a whole two weeks. nail polish never seemed to be about luxury or fashion to harry and i would like to see that in "his brand".
i went to visit my nephew yesterday and his parents are insanely conservative. but i was shocked to see they allowed him to paint his nails along with his older sister. he said to me once 4 years ago "i want to paint my nails but boys can't do that" and i said to him "boys can paint their nails and you can do it when you are older, you'd look so cool with painted nails" and he smiled at me the biggest ive ever seen. i was convinced his parents wouldn't allow it so when i said it i thought he might have to wait until he was 18 but i promised id keep encouraging him that he could do and wear whatever he wanted (including when he told me last month that he wanted to wear make up and a dress someday.) yet his parents allowed him to paint his nails a bright blue. when i saw him, most of it was chipped off but when i saw them and held his hands in mine in the middle of church i nearly cried.
