Thinking... About Kinley.

Gotta love original character rambles!!!

Kinley Howard was my very first Detective Comics original character I made... She's undergone so many changes and developments, she's barely the same as when she started out. I think the most prominent thing I try to make known about her is she never had a chance to be "Kinley Howard," because "Kinley Howard" never existed. She was a made up being scientists created to study.

I only thought about how much this ties into her being messed up after I was making some playlists for her — I consider each version of her to be a phase.

Meaning she has phase #01, phase #02, and phase #03.

In each phase, she loses herself more and more. Well, as much as she can when she doesn't know who *herself* is. From the moment she was found and it was known she was a clone, it was kept a secret from her. What all she remembered was a fake life she was practically programmed to remember.

Unaware that everyone around her believes her to be a monster. A future danger to society. She never understood why her role model she's "looked up to all her life" suddenly saved her after what she remembers to be years — or why he suddenly wants her to work beside him as a hero.

But she did it, because to her, her life was looking brighter. How could she be aware that the nagging feeling of not fitting in her own skin was real? Far beyond the normal "I don't belong" type of feel.

She has this concert or who she's supposed to be... Yet, no matter how much she breaks that concept, she can never truly rewrite herself to be her.

She is artificial.

She is not human.

She is only a being.

Thinking... About Howl.

Howl from Howl's Moving Castle, of course. Studio Ghibli films are peak! Especially this one... Which I only first watched a few months ago.

Howl is an amazing character. Especially with how he treats Sophie.

Howl searched for Sophie ever since he first saw her. He waited years to meet her again — despite the fact he didn't know her, what she was doing, what she meant, or any of that. He still *searched* for her. Then he found her.

Howl recognized Sophie despite the fact she didn't at all look the same. He knew it was her. She had longer, black hair compared to the grey she had during the short time they met. Then, even when she was older, he recognized her. She had aged a millennia within a short, short while because of a curse... Yet, he still recognized her.

To him, Sophie wasn't her looks, Sophie was *Sophie*. Her heart, her soul, her being. That's what she was to Howl.

I admire this man so much. I envy him...

On a separate note he looks like David Bowie, so he has that going for him.
