sorry whenever I think abt double alpine podium I feel insane. do u know how crazy it is that at the very least these r two dudes that have known each other so long but despite that are so far from the closeness they used to have in every way but in that moment, when it mattered, they did this beautiful thing together, solidified the beautiful story and then they both, without communicating it outside of their own heads, drove together n did the lap in complete sync like……I can’t.

my psychoanalysis for the day is that lando got the perspective on grid friendships that he has now from carlos. imagine you're 19 and and you're finally getting to do the thing you've worked your whole life for and you're suddenly famous and everyone wants something from you and you have this teammate who is so cool and laughs at your jokes and you hang out sometimes and you're friends but then he says he has no friends so you guess that means you're not. maybe that means you can't have friends here because he's the closest thing you have to one but he says you're not friends, and he'd know because he's older and more experienced so you listen and now you don't have friends. it doesn't matter if you hang out with these guys on your off weeks and play video games with them and grab dinner here and there. they're not your friends.
