The Last Quagga Died 141 Years Ago
Today is the quagga zebra "extinction anniversary". I started holding this day of remembrance years ago, and only today did i realise how important it actually is. We're in the middle of the so called "mass extinction" altho it's rather a capitalist&colonial mass ecocide. Let's keep remembering quaggas and as many others as possible, because we're fighting for them as well. Rest in power ✊🏻

lets make it happen then
Mutazione is one of those games that I feel should have some kind of incredibly dedicated fandom but that I logically know is too niche to ever truly take off.

If you ever feel guilty about taking pictures of your meals, pretend you're doing it for anthropologists and historians. BAM! suddenly you're a noble pursuer of knowledge.

I suggest #ColonizerKam.
Quick, we need a 'genocide Joe' equivalent for Kamala. Any ideas?

next time you hear an asshead complain about a pride flag expansion, saying "i thought it was supposed to include everyone already", tell them that actually, our rainbow representations are, in fact, exclusionary — as there's no cyan nor magenta!! another perk of switching our colour theory to RYGCBM is the fact that it burns fashists' eyes out.

relating to the mass language extinction
Kinda hypocritical and probably also fetishistic of me to want others to keep their languages alive, while also being like "who fucking cares" when it comes to the thing i speak natively. Granted, with its ten million speakers and institutional backing of the imperial north, this particular languaging conglomerate probably has quite a high chance of survival, in some form—unlike the vast majority of humanity's linguistic diversity. This is probably another instance of my internalised anti-east european sentiments, a topic i've been noticing lately. But looking at it the other way around, it's a very vivid illustration of a possible motivation for a language shift on the level of an individual, i.e. abuse and trauma. I'm ashamed i haven't always been understanding of other people's reasons for switching languages. Even when they've gone through much worse than me. Although such a process requires (self-)awareness—something my dissociative psyche isn't really trained at.

Záznam o pražském votivním rituálu
Dneska jsem bylx vyhodit odpadky a zastavilx jsem se potom v místní škole vyhodit rovněž i jeden z papírů, které mi přišly poštou. Do téhož kontejneru vyhazovali papíry i ostatní obyvatelé této oblasti. "strany"). Tyto bytosti jsou velmi žárlivé, a praktiktukující mohou vyjádřit svou oddanost pouze jedné z nich. I přes tyto podobnosti se pravděpodobně se jedna pouze o případ konvergentní kulturní evoluce

during the last year or so, i've been able to look at my sense of worthlessness progressively more safely. and last summer i was like – huh, it actually has aspects i somewhat enjoy, as well. because it drives me to explore one obscurity after the another. even tho it doesn't make me feel fulfilled and worthy, as it promises, at least i'm moving, right? well, since that, it's become abundantly clear, that i want to change this, i need this wound to stop bleeding because it's contributing to the loneliness of my own creation, among other things. so i got scared, whether it means that i won't have this drive anymore. well maybe this shows the way forward. maybe i need to find something else to make me continue learning, in order to fell enough.

this painting is based on a photo of a Mapuche lady i found on flickr. my work process seems to look like this:
a) jlafdjajl it doesnt i dont know how to make it look more like the reference.!!! b) fuck this ill finish this shit anyway c) huh that's better than i expected
I also reached bit of a crisis point that was emotionally really painful for me. I wanted to start with oilpainting last month. So i tried to look up info on how to start and i bought the pigments wiki on r/oilpainting recommended (if i remember correctly). but in the last couple of days i got convinced that i don't want to use pigments containing heavy metals - for environmental and health reasons. it made me disgusted with myself kinda? like -- here i am, spending a lot of money on pigments that are overall a bad thing for everything alive; and using them, to paint an indigenous lady, living in the global south, colonial exploitation of which enables me to buy cadmiums and cobalts in the first place. let's create a better global socioeconomic system asap pls

This was based on a profile picture i took three years ago, when using the violet shampoo to make my bleached hair look brighter. But i was too frustrated with it, because my experimental palette (english red, yellow ochre, cerulean blue, zinc white) felt off, and my yellow ochre paint smells really bad for some reason??, anyway i wanted to be done with it asap so i didnt add any violet liquid running over my body in this oil. also a lot of oil came out of the tube, so thats why its so runny. i dont mind it that much in the end, it makes the backgroud look more dreamy i think?

although i did do that in a watercolor thing i did in the first week of january

i probably like the reference photo because i back when i took it, it matched a certain sense of how i wanted to be perceived by other people -- so that i would feel some glimpse of self worth. now its mostly like..a habit i think. like, now the miniature of the picutre that ran thru some instagram filter feels like a symbol referencing me as a person. almost as personal that name of mine that i dont use with other people.

In January I decided to finally try oil painting and oh my gods they are so pleasant to work with! Over the course of my life I've just accepted the notion that they are scary and messy. My first work was nsfw, but then I made this eggplant. Kinda messed up the shading of the exocarp, but i really like the stem.

The achievement of Le Guin is that she presents neither a utopia nor a dystopia. She describes an alternatively organized human society as is, with its goods and bads.
Science fiction is not predicting where we are heading, or dictating where we should go; it opens up possibilities to our imagination.
Le Guin welcomes us to think how our life could look if we did not have property, money, and government and if we had to live within ecological limits.
The point is not that we should live without money or property or to predict that we are heading toward an ecological catastrophe. The point is simply to force us to think the unthinkable.
And having “seen it” in our minds, to consider again what we could change now, without boundaries to our imaginations.
