My parents and I are sick since the new year started so they decided to rewatch the show NCIS (2003) from the start and appart from having to explain furry culture to them it's going fine. As expected some things didn't age well, like a joke about Tony character kissing a transvestite character but nothing I wouldn't expect from a show that started in 2000.

But the thing I didn't expect/ didn't remember is how bisexual everyone is ? Like Tony as sexual tensions with everyone, EVERYONE. And at first I taught that was just a me thing (or maybe the fever we all have) but even my step dad who has a terrible gaydar started noticing it ?

Like we just watched an episode were Tony is undercover (idk why, I feel asleep and joined the episode near the middle) and he's on a car ride/trip with a bad guy. They have so much chemistry but also are constantly touching like soulder rubs, back tap and like even when they are threatening each other near the end of the episod. The bad guy and him are very friendly and gentle in their interaction, Tony even saying he liked him to his boss after having to kill him in self defense. What is up with that?

Keep in mind I haven't watched the show in years and from my understanding it changed a lot, cast and tone vise but why make it so bisexual ? And mostly men, women characters are more into men and rarely interact with each other but the dudes? Constantly having tension with each other. Some of it is drama and jokes but most of it seem weirdly played straight to me

What to do if you suddenly find yourself homeless

FOOD

Find your nearest food bank or mission, for food

grocery stores with free samples, bakeries + stores with day-old bread

different fast food outlets have cheaper food and will generally let you hang out for a while.

some dollar stores carry food like cans of beans or fruit

SHELTER

Sleeping at beaches during the day is a good way to avoid suspicion and harassment

sleep with your bag strapped to you, so someone can’t steal it

Some churches offer short term residence

Find your nearest homeless shelter

Look for places that are open to the public

A large dumpster near a wall can often be moved so that flipping up the lids creates an angled shelter to stay dry

HYGIENE

A membership to the YMCA is usually only 10$, which has a shower, and sometimes laundry machines and lockers.

Public libraries have bathrooms you can use

Dollar stores carry low-end soaps and deodorant etc.

Wet wipes are all purpose and a life saver

Local beaches, go for a quick swim

Some truck stops have showers you can pay for

Staying clean is the best way to prevent disease, and potentially get a job to get back on your feet

Pack 7 pairs of socks/undies, 2 outfits, and one hooded rain jacket

OTHER

During our first session my current therapist, which I started to see when I was 18, asked me what I wanted out of therapy and my only taught was "someone who isn't gonna act chocked when I tell them about my life and who also can say fuck"

She is far from perfect but fit both those so it works for me

random thought but i think the coolest thing a therapist working w teens can do is say fuck. my therapist when i was 15/16 did and it was so effective in making me feel comfortable and not spoken down to or patronized.
