2v2 Incursion game at #StompingGrounds. The Ultramarines commander thought he must be mad to ally with xenos scum like the Tau. A terrible cacophony of flies and war cries announced the arrival of both the Death Guard and The World Eaters. Suddenly, the bleak necessity of the blasphemy became immediate in the face of the Archenemy. Oceline the Everblighted held no such compunctions for his own allies. The daemon prince considered the Khornates to be too mirthless for his liking, but hardly offensive. Anything that added to the feculantbattlefield miasma wormed his heart. The game was fun albeit short, being cut short by the shop closing early. Despite the combined fire power of the loyal Astartes and the Tau, the day was won by the Heretics. After concentrated artillery fire destroyed the Ultramarines' lascannon mounted Predator it became nearly impossible to dislodge the Death Guard from the center objective. The question our opponents had to answer was a rough one: Use Tau firepower and Ultramarines tactical squads to either blast the Death Guard of the objectives and take them, or blast the the Khorne Beserkers ripping into their lines to take their objective. In the end the Tau defended their position and Ultramarines tried to no avail to break a Defiler if only to get to the Plague Burst Crawler behind it. Last Sunday's Warhammer match at Stomping Grounds with my friend Al Ninatoski. The Steel Legion once again took up arms to battle the Death Guard. Gritty soldiers versus foul immortals. What fun! This game turned horrifically violent pretty quick and was so close right to the end. A fantastic game. While the soldiers brought the heart of the battle, the artillery brought its voice. Imperial Armor against Nurgle Daemon Engines is always fun. I won this battle by a very small margin and look forward to our next match later today. Putting together my first Plague Burst Crawler a few weeks ago. I love this unit. For extra fun or just to make your opponent completely hate you, use the 5th Plague Company so you can shoot the Plague Burst mortar into any close combat it happens to be engaged in.
