you are just so interesting that

writing poetry about you is impossible

i would try to be vague

so others can claim it’s about

their sweethearts

but they can’t when i write

about you

because right now you are

on stage calling bingo

and having the time of your life

(telling shitty dad jokes)

(wrangling the crowd of hundreds)

(and your bangs are hanging in your face

like a curtain and you’re shaking them away

and i keep thinking about how cute it is)

and i don’t know if you see me

all the way in the back

but i’m having the time of my life too

watching you have fun

and falling more and more

in love with every call
