tips on fasting, or fasting successfully for the first time and not giving in??
Fasting is something you grow used to, so do not sorry if you find it difficult at first! The first 24 hours tend to be the hardest, and then the first 72. But I have found that once you make it past those points it becomes easier!

Water. You can do dry fasts, but I do not see any reason to not drink water during a fast unless for religious purposes. Staying hydrated is so incredibly important.
β’ β’ β’ β’
Adding salt or drinking zero kcal electrolight drinks can be very helpful.
(For longer fasts especially, zero kcal drinks like black coffee, tea, or energy drinks, do not break the fast so I recommend those!)
β’ β’ β’ β’
Then stay busy! If you can plan a fast for a day you're already busy that's even better!! Go for a walk or if you have a workout routine do your exercises. I would be careful of anything that is incredibly extraneous though as that will make you more hungry.

Then take pleasure in the feeling. A growing stomach can be such a lovely thing when you realize it means you're making beautiful progress. The feeling of not eating should be motivation in and of itself to not eat.
