ok, ive thinking about the mastermind in aai2 and i just neeeed to talk about it

spoilers for ace attorney investigations 2

okay so ive been mulling over the whole situation that simon is in before the game, and i wonder just how long he's been planning his entire scheme out.

I mean like he had blackmail ready for all of the characters, some of which would have been incredibly difficult to get bc his targets are really powerful figures

that would have been an incredible risk for him, so why do it?

obviously his main motive was revenge but i really dont think he had much of a choice to do anything but take everyone down

if you think about it, simon was living on a razor wire bc the chairman of the pic, the prison warden, and a leader of a fucking country were all after him. if he was noticed at all, then the police would be on his ass bc the chief of police is in blaise's pocket and they could put him in jail, where he'd be cornered by roland. if he tried to leave the country then he'd be at the mercy of the body double. even horace could be a potential threat bc he could slip up and accidentally reveal where he was

there really was no way he could live without danger unless he somehow removed them from power (or in horace's case make him shut up or get out of the way) so he might have realized way in the past that that was his only chance for freedom

as for after that? i dont know if he initially started plotting with the intention of living a free life, but by the time he gets arrested, i really dont think he cares about anything but revenge. but at least he gets some time to sort himself out in prison with his father figure (and maybe curbstomp his dad too)

also now i really wanna see a fic where simon is avoiding everyone in the aa2 berry circus case, like hes flying over phoenix's head with a flock of trained parakeets or smth funny like that asdfajks
