𝙒𝙃𝘼𝙏 𝙈𝘼𝙆𝙀𝙎 𝘼 𝙂𝙊𝙊𝘿 𝙍𝙊𝙇𝙀𝙋𝙇𝘼𝙔𝙀𝙍?

there are a few very simple things that make a good roleplayer.     if you want to be a roleplayer people love to see on their dash,  just keep these things in mind.

•     𝚁𝙴𝚂𝙿𝙴𝙲𝚃 𝚈𝙾𝚄𝚁 𝙼𝚄𝚂𝙴 𝙰𝙽𝙳 𝙾𝚃𝙷𝙴𝚁 𝙿𝙴𝙾𝙿𝙻𝙴𝚂’ 𝙼𝚄𝚂𝙴𝚂.     you love your muse don’t you?     that’s why you play them.     you want to interact with other peoples’ muses right?     that’s why you followed them.     give everyone’s muses,  including your own,  the respect they deserve.     respect their trauma,  if they have it.     respect their relationships,  their emotions,  their reactions.     it’s all part of their story :   tell your muse’s story in the fullest,  and let other people tell theirs.      there’s no need to conform or try to make your muse  ‘palatable’.     just be honest about your muse,  be respectful,  and take interest!

•     𝚁𝙴𝚂𝙿𝙴𝙲𝚃 𝚈𝙾𝚄𝚁𝚂𝙴𝙻𝙵 𝙰𝙽𝙳 𝙾𝚃𝙷𝙴𝚁 𝙰𝙳𝙼𝙸𝙽𝚂.     it’s totally fine if muses don’t get along or respect one another,  but admins absolutely have to respect one another for a roleplay relationship to work.     be understanding of others’ time ;   this is a hobby,  not a jobby.     we’re all just here to have fun.     be respectful of your own time too :   know when to put down the computer and go take a breather.     your thread will be there when you get back.     it isn’t easy putting yourself out there on tumblr :   the most we can expect is basic respect for and from one another.     that being said,  you are allowed to lose respect for someone you interact with,  and they are allowed to lose respect for you ;   but if that happens,  simply unfollow or block.     this will happen.     first impressions are often wrong,  and that’s okay :   but knowing how and when to stop a relationship is just as important as knowing how to start one,  and there’s nothing wrong with calling it quits if something makes you uncomfortable.

•     𝙲𝙾𝙽𝚃𝚁𝙾𝙻 𝚈𝙾𝚄𝚁 𝙾𝚆𝙽 𝚂𝙿𝙰𝙲𝙴 𝙰𝙽𝙳 𝙳𝙾𝙽'𝚃 𝚃𝚁𝚈 𝚃𝙾 𝙲𝙾𝙽𝚃𝚁𝙾𝙻 𝙾𝚃𝙷𝙴𝚁𝚂’.     you are in control of the content you see,  and it is not up to you to dictate what someone else does on their own blog.     if you don’t like a person’s portrayal or content,  simply unfollow or softblock.     not liking a person’s content is absolutely not an excuse for sending anon hate or vagueing about them.     if you have questions or are uncomfortable with a particular aspect of someone’s content,  it doesn’t hurt to ask questions and explain yourself :   it’s totally okay to ask for clarification about things and explain how things make you feel!     however,  do not expect or demand change from the blog owner.     nobody  likes to be told how to play their muse,  and  nobody  likes having their content policed,  so just  don’t do it.

•     𝚄𝚂𝙴 𝙲𝙾𝙼𝙼𝙾𝙽 𝚂𝙴𝙽𝚂𝙴.     when cultivating your own space,  use common sense.      a lot of stuff is fine in fiction but not in reality :   know when and how to keep your beliefs separate from your muse’s.     do you and your muse have a similar background?     similar trauma?     similar world views?     similar struggles?     that’s great!     representation of all walks of life is incredibly important and cathartic in roleplay.     but it’s important to know where to draw the line with villainous or otherwise extreme behavior ooc.     its completely fine for a muse to advocate for disgusting things ;   after all,  watering down a muse to make them  ‘palatable’  means they’re no longer a villain,  and that’s not cool.     but fiction is fiction for a reason,  and some things have to be left there.

•     𝙷𝙰𝚅𝙴 𝙲𝙻𝙴𝙰𝚁 𝙱𝙾𝚄𝙽𝙳𝙰𝚁𝙸𝙴𝚂.     boundaries are important ;   clear boundaries are even more so.     everyone has lines they don’t want crossed,  but most people aren’t psychic :   make these lines as clear as possible,  in writing,  to respect yourself and your followers.     the usual way people end up having drama is by accidentally overstepping a boundary that wasn’t made clear ;   make your boundaries and expectations as transparent as you can to avoid needless drama.     leave the drama to the muses!

𝚃𝙻 ; 𝙳𝚁.     be respectful of yourself and others,  use common sense,  don’t be a controlling asshole,  and know when to say that enough is enough if you have to.
