Wondering:

1. Is the reason #ASD & #ADHD are often co-morbid because our brains are very sensitive to nuanaces/inauthenticty/the environment AND there's so much going on in the environment around us?

2. The "sudden" perception "why is everyone #neurodivergent now is that modern civilization is inherently unhealthy for us as species; ND peeps are like the canary in the coal mine?

Seriously, Tumblr has helped me realize that so much of my "quirks" are just because I'm AuHD. Just knowing I'm not alone has helped me not be as anxious (of course, 5 decades of imaginary convos & scenarios to be ready "just in case"); I have actually gotten off anxiety meds & dropped down to lowest dose of depression med. Now just to get motivation back/executive dysfunction fixed/ get over fear if failure.

ough i started thinking about the inherent tragedy of a spare heir

what if you and your sister had the same tutors, same arms instructor, same conversations with your mother regarding politics and strategies and the million terrible choices a ruler must make. but all of them, from your nursery governess to your fencing coach to your mother herself, knew that she was real and you-- weren't. not yet. only if the unthinkable happened. what if you were a walking reminder that she wasn't invincible. what if you were tragedy's page, carrying its train, walking soft in the shadow of all of their hopes that you would never be needed.
