gore is so cgi and manufactured nowadays. where is the prosthetic limbs that can be chopped off and squirt blood, where is the blood packs in actors mouth so they can spit the blood out, where is the explosion of blood that doesn’t look realistic because there can’t possibly be that much blood in someone’s body. we need to go back and take some notes out of 80s body horror book

Kinda feel like there's some untapped meme/reaction image potential from old horror movie trailers...

Shout out to this one woman from Blair Witch Project. According to the directors everyone involved in the scene was a plant, except for her, some random woman from the real Burkitsville who was asked about the Blair Witch and immediately made up a story about seeing a documentary on the Discovery Channel about disappearing hunters. While carrying a child. Unsung MVP of horror

i want this to be good so fucking bad. please please please let this be good.
horror constantly falls into this trap of taking good, stand alone stories and running them into the ground. monsters become less scary the more you know about them and yet these franchises decide we need a new movie to explain every single detail that was originally intended to stay a mystery.
the success of this movie is going to hinge on whether or not they take advantage of the new setting and timeline to explore new aspects of the universe. We’ve felt what it’s like to be a lone survivor, hiding from predators that could be lurking in every corner. What does it mean to be just another body in an inescapable swarm of predators and prey. Will being quiet save you when the rest of the world is loud? we have a new cast of incredibly talented actors (i’m talking about the cat but i guess the rest of them are there too), what will they bring to the story that the previous ones didn’t?
my fear is that the writes will forget all of the nuance that made the original movie great and instead fall back on the well known IP, large cgi budget, and hot people, turning this into another marvel knock-off, monsters destroy new york plot line.
i desperately want to love this story. please don’t make me regret getting my hopes up. there’s a cat for gods stake
