This line:

The consensus seems to be that it’s about/coming from Riku. I can see how it has an impending dread feeling to it. Riku to Xehanort, Terra to Xehanort, Sora to Xehanort, Ven to Vanitas, Repliku to ???? Spoken right before a self-sacrifice kind of moment. It makes the most sense to be Riku since it comes from the Dawn section, but who knows they might be throwing it in there as a curveball 😰

OR, what if it’s a character speaking to their keyblade? Delivered with more of a bittersweet vibe. A shared journey ending. SOMEBODY LOSES/GIVES UP THEIR ABILITY TO WIELD THE KEYBLADE YALL WHAT IF?????????

Ok @thisbethedoortolight already informed me that this is old news but I’m still gonna post said theory up anyways. Because it kinda blew my mind how Nomura hinted at Aquanort two years ago - when 0.2 BBS’ opening was shown to us. 

As all of you know, the ending of that particular opening scene, Aqua sinks into the water, further and further - then Sora’s hand shows up to pull her out.

Here’s the funny thing - Aqua drowning? That was foreshadowing her fall into darkness and despair. Why do I say that? Well… in KH1′s opening, Riku’s fall to darkness was an obvious given, symbolised by a giant wave about to engulf him. Sora almost drowns in that same wave, but when he surfaces he sees Kairi, and realises he’s still in the shallows.

Water, specifically drowning in it - has a bit of symbolism in KH: Drowning in Darkness specific. Aqua’s turn into Aquanort was hinted to us ages ago and we didn’t realise it!

Here’s the interesting bit - this hints that Riku and Mickey will fail in their attempt to save Aqua, and Sora will have to be the one to step in.
