The ‘Spice of Life’✨ Legacy Challenge

Sometimes playing the sims can get a little stale, and somewhat repetitive, especially The Sims 4. I know I can get stuck playing the same stories over and over again, so I decided to create this challenge to add a little excitement and variety to my, and hopefully your, game-play!

After all, variety is the spice of life!

Gen 1: The Wild Child

You’re a sim who loves to get down, go on adventures and spend time with other sims! You can be a bit of a handful for some sims, but that’s okay! You’ve been wild since the day you were born and you wouldn’t want to be any other way. You have about a million things you want to do in your life time and you’re gonna do them all!

Aspiration: Friend of the Animals

Traits: Dance Machine, Adventurous, Outgoing

Generation rules / goals:

Join the secret agent career and get to the top of it before your sim becomes an elder

Once your sim is an elder have them start a new job, keep them on their toes!

Complete the Friend of the Animals aspiration

Master the Dance & Pet training skills throughout your sims lifetime

Have five animals in your sims house-hold at one time (these should be cats, dogs, raccoon, foxes, etc.) - you don’t always have to have five but you should at some point

Have you sim have at least 10 friends and having a falling out with one of them and become enemies

Have a best-friend that is NOT your partner / spouse

Have your sim go out at least once every weekend to either the club, the bar or somewhere else they can dance! They’re a dance machine remember!

Your sim can have as many children as you like, but keep in mind that they have a lot of animals in the house

You must have at least one child in order for them to become heir, they can be adopted or biological, it doesn’t matter!

Go on at least two family vacations, one of these must be to Mt. Komorebi

Have your sim be a very relaxed parent, no rules, no pressure to get good grades, etc. (Parenthood is needed for this but if you don’t have it that’s okay just do your best without it!)

hello! i'm not sure if you can help but i'm gonna try so it's fine if u can't answer them!

do u know how to make an in-game font override? ik there's sims 1 and sims 2 font overrides but i want to make my own, searched everywhere but unable to find a tutorial on how to make it ;-;

Hey too! So I didn't know how to do it at first but I got curious, and was able to make it :) I did get stuck and was able to receive help, and here it is!

Download JPEXS decompiler. This is also used for custom loading screens btw.

In S4S, create a new empty package, open Game File Cruiser, then search for this instance number: 5C7CB2846F0FCA7A (1), and select All (2) .

Once done, you'll see one Scale Form GFX result, with the display name as gfxfontlib. Select (3) and add it to current package (4), and export it as a binary file (5-6).

On the file you just exported, rename the extension from .binary to .gfx, then open the now named .gfx file in the JPEXS decompiler. Here are the main things to focus on: the fonts you'll be replacing (7) and where to do so (8). Select the font you want to replace and select embed to bring up the next window.

The Sims Sans SC Bold: title text, found only in main menu The Sims Sans SC Bold: headers, found in menu and in-game BentonSans Bold/Medium/Regular: regular texts

Select TTF file (9), locate your font and click open (10), fill in the individual characters box with these (11) characters, and click OK. Do that instead of selecting any of the character boxes as I find that to cause visual glitches and crash my game.

To easily locate your font, right click your font file and select copy as path (12), then paste it in the file name box (10).

Once you click OK, it will bring up a new window asking if you should replace a character/text. Select yes to all to any window that comes up (13).

You've now replaced one of the fonts! Do this to each of the fonts highlighted in 7. You can use different fonts just like the preview I showed.

To import back to S4S, rename the .gfx extension back to .binary (14), then import it to your package (15).

Save your file, check in-game, and if everything works fine and there's no visual glitches, then you've just made your font override!

A legacy challenge from a selection of my favourite music from the 80s'!

plz note these are not necessarily literal interpretations of each song, nor are they based on any information about the song from any of the artists.

Some general Guidelines:

Have/Adopt/Science-Baby at least one child per gen

You can use money cheats if you wish, if that makes it more fun for you! However, some gens do involve starting with limited funds.

Any gen can be an occult if you think it fits! (but some do specifically involve occults)

Any lifespan, I play with long!

THE SIMS 4: BARBIE Legacy Challenge!

oh hi there! i haven't posted here in a while, but i just watched the barbie movie a few days ago and needless to say, it is now my entire personality. so here's my first ever legacy challenge based on barbie's many, many careers and achievements!

apologies in advance, this challenge uses a lot of packs! i'm sorry! i might try to make a base game version at some point

BASE GAME version

All heirs must be female and named Barbie. (non-heir children may have any name)

You may use the freerealestate cheat for your first house, but try not to use money cheats after that!

You are allowed and encouraged to use lot traits and rewards to boost skill gain, anything that’s in-game is fair game.

Packs you will need:

EPs: Get To Work, City Living, Cats & Dogs, Get Famous, Island Living, High School Years

GPs: Spa Day*, Parenthood

Optional packs (for the optional generations):

EPs: University, Cottage Living, Horse Ranch

GPs: Strangerville

*You only need Spa Day for the High Maintenance trait in one of the generations and nothing else, so it's fine to skip out on it.

it's finally here! I put my whole simsussy into this so I hope you guys love it! If you have any issues feel free to reach out and I'll try my best to help you out. by no means am I a pro though...

T I P S

- turn off edge smoothing in gameplay menu - mxao looks best when you hit 'tab' and zoom in all the way! - tested in different worlds and different lighting (looks best in day though) - turn off aDOF and/or MXAO for faster speeds - make sure that in global preprocessor definitions you have: RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_IS_REVERSED=0 *** - probably not gameplay friendly for slower computers - all of the shaders have hotkeys for ease of use! they're kinda random tho edit: ADOF DOES NOT HAVE HOT KEY! OOPS! - I recommend twinkle toes world lighting mod and OOTD

Standard + Legacy + qUINT + SweetFX + PD80 (prod80)
