Noah figured it was time to welcome the new psychologist to the prison. He can definitely remember what his first few days felt like. A little overwhelming. It also doesn’t hurt that those days were only about a week away. Noah wasn’t one of the people who have worked here for ever and a day. He was a new hire himself. But still, he figured it was the polite thing to do. Plus, the other man was a psychologist as well. Noah figured it wouldn’t hurt to befriend another psychologist or two. Noah knocked on the man’s door and heard him tell him to come inside. Noah slid into the room and offered the man a friendly smile. “Hey there. I just figured I would finally come over and welcome you here. I’m Noah Ramses, one of the other psychologist here.” 

Looking over Noah, Ken first thought was that he was a guard or something due to his age, but when he introduced himself as being a psychologist like himself, Ken raised an eyebrow. “You seen abit young, is this your first position since getting your degree?” He asked in a slight concerned tone, being young and fresh into this line of work, certain clients could take advantage of that, especially working in this kind of environment and looking the way Noah does. “I’m sure inmates here would prefer you as their therapist then myself with how young you look.” Ken hummed to himself.

Do you realize that you're very sexy?

“Umm no? Can’t say anyone has ever described me as sexy if i’m being honest. Sometimes I get put off putting myself out there due to some guys discriminating me for the way I look, and so I guess this has affected the way I view myself and why I put myself so much into my work.”

“Think the favourite part is learning how people’s minds work and what made them do what they did.”

who are some of the inmates you wouldn't want to be in a room alone with?

“I have only been here a few days now, so I haven’t really gotten to know all the inmates here. Though if your asking who I wouldn’t want to fight, it would be probably any of them, as I always loose in a fist fight.”

Xander didn’t like this one bit. Never in all of his life had he ever needed to see a shrink. Now, for whatever reason, he was being forced into some doctor’s office to discuss his feelings, or whatever a psychologist made a person do. When he was officially ushered in, Xander let out a heavy sigh. “Are the handcuffs really necessary?” He questioned with annoyance in his tone. It’s not like he had murdered anyone and the last thing he’d do was attack a harmless doctor out of no where. That would only get him more time in jail or some type of punishment that would piss him off. 

Taking the cue, he sat down on the couch when the doctor introduced himself. “Good, that’s quite a mouth full. Ken is…easier,�� he admitted. It felt weird to introduce himself when the other probably knew everything about him already from his file. “Xander…Xander Blackwood,” he offered to get the ball rolling.

A soft smile came to Ken’s lips when Xander made a comment about his name and nodded when the inmate agreed that calling him by his first name would be easier. Ken had written some basic information about Xander into his notepad previous to him arriving, just so he had a rough idea on the man. “Pleasure, Xander.” Ken nodded as Xander introduced himself to him. “So, I have been appointed as your therapist whilst you reside here, shall we start with something simple?” Ken said with a soft smile on his lips as he glanced down at his notepad before back to Xander. “Why don’t you tell me the events that ended in you being sent here?” He knew the crimes Xander had committed from his file, however, he would rather hear it from the inmate themselves and hear their side of events.

“I can tell you that the statue of liberty wasn’t green when it was first built, did you know that?”

It was only his second day at the prison and he had met a few of the inmates now and was slowly getting familiar with the prison layout, however, he still found himself lost or going the wrong way from time to time. With this, Ken had not made time to get to know his fellow members of staff he would be working there with, which you might think is a bad thing, which it is but Ken was one who always put work first before anything else, which is probably why he is still single. Hearing a knocking on the door was a little weird to Ken, as he had seen all his appointments today and so wasn’t expecting anyone. “Come in.” Ken called as he faced away from the door, standing infront of his desk clearing a file he had opened of his last appointment and putting them back into the file and made his way over to the filling cabinet and put it inside. Finally turning around to face his visitor, he looked over him a few times trying to remember his name but he couldn’t remember it. “Can I help you?”

FOR INMATES

Ken had only just started at the prison a few days ago now, so had decided to make appointments for everyone in his case load, so introduce himself and get to know each inmate on face to face. Sure, he had files on each of them, from their case, crime and previous psych reports, but Ken always believed in the personal approach when getting to know a person. As we find Ken, he was in his office awaiting his last patient of the day to arrive at his office, even though it was his past appointment for the day and after he would be free for the rest of the day, Ken wasn’t the type to rush to the finish line. He was sitting in his armchair next to a couch with his notepad on his lap as he heard the door to his office knocking. “Come in.” Ken called and watched an officer and inmate enter his office. “You can wait outside.” He said to the officer as he waved his hand to the couch for the inmate to take a seat. “My name is Dr Nishimoto, but you can just call me Ken.” Ken said with a friendly smile.

whoa wait was that [ HARRY SHUM JR. ]? no, that is [ KEN NISHIMOTO ] and they are employed at the prison as [ PSYCHOLOGIST ]. they’re [ 36 ] years old, and seem pretty fit for that job. hopefully they can handle it in the prison because some people have said they’re [ CARING, COMPASSIONATE ] a lot of the time, but if you ask me they seem to be [ NAIVE, CLUMSY ].

Ken was brought up by his grandmother on his father’s side, after witnessing his mother killing his father in a heat of rage when Ken was just seven years old.

Ken has never spoken to his mother since who is still in prison today for the murder of his father.

He became a psychologist to try to fully understand why his mother ruined their family.

He’s not the brightest tool in the box, but he has a gift for speaking to people, though can be naive at times with what people tell him.

Ken has only ever worked within prisons after getting his degree, due to his interest in his mother’s crime and the way a criminal mind works.

Ken was offered two jobs before coming to Alcatraz, one before for Alcatraz and the other being for the prison where his mother is impression, he took his father’s surname, and of course decided to work at Alcatraz.
