Creating the Navigation menu
Moving my app forward, I started to realise that along with me creating more pages on the app for better organisation, this also meant it was harder to navigate and move around the app. For example, in the original design, in order for the user to go to the “Activity” page of the app, they would have to go the main home page and click “See All Activity”. If they are currently on the home page, this would be an easy click, however the problem arises if they are on a completely different page, they would have to click many different back buttons in order to reach it.
Therefore, in order to make this faster and easier on the user, I decided to include a navigation menu that include: main home, activity, full menu. All of these pages are what would be the most visited pages of the app and thus, by having easy access to them in the bottom, they’d be able to get around the application quicker.
Main Home revision
After creating the navigation menu, this meant I no longer had to include too many functions on the home page as they are now easy to access. Therefore, I decided to avoid repetition and removed some of the functions from the original home page (top left image) and instead made room for an alert for the latest deal (top right image) which I, as a user, would definitely appreciate as banks often have deals that allow me to get discounts in specific shops and businesses.

Lofi Prototype Feedback
From the feedback that I received, people in general enjoyed how I included sound into my prototype as it helped paint a clearer picture of what my end product would be.
In terms of feedback, I got a lot of things that I could work on and potentially explore/improve; some of these include: using sound as seasoning, what are the actual mechanics of where the sound is coming from, what happens when we share food. I’m particularly interested in sounds and seasoning, this potentially could be added to the menu option and would have adjustable controls. I’m not sure how I would exactly do this in terms of coding though, so I would have to see if I’m my coding skills will enable me to include it.

Constant Output: Week 10 & 11
For this week, I continued to work on the statistics section of app. I got the idea for this feature from the Health app on the iPhone. I like how I’m able to see statistics of my steps, which helps me monitor my activity and how much I walk/move around.
Similarly, I thought this would be useful as well in order to monitor how much funds go in and out of my bank account. This feature would also include helpful graphs and statistics showed in different infographics and averages. Through this feature, the bank app could also function as a money management app as well to help users be aware of where money is coming in and out each week, month or year.

Free Writing
I opened the fridge and checked it’s contents: last night’s party leftover pizza, two apples, an unwrapped chocolate bar and a half eaten jar of peanut butter. Honestly, this is as good as it’s gonna get. I’m a college student, what did you expect? I settled for the pizza. Plopping one in the microwave, I watched the pizza’s cheese start to ooze with life once more, the pepperoni turning a slight brown and the crust expanding and bubbling. Simultaneously, I can hear hints of the night before. I start to smile, craving the memory. The moment the microwave door opened, the hot smoke filled my small dorm room. I took a bite and I was back. The cheers, laughter, beer bottles clinking, it all sounded crystal clear. This is why party food is the best kind of food, I thought as I munched down on the second bite.

Product Sketch
In response to the feedback received last class, I started brainstorming ideas that can connect my concept to an actual product. Therefore, I came up with this reusable utensils box set that also acts as a speaker. This box would be small and light enough to slip into pockets, therefore making it portable for anyone to carry anywhere. In order to fit into a small box, the utensils will be foldable.
The top cover of this box would act as the speaker. This speaker would be able to scan QR codes (in which the playlists/music will be linked to), or alternatively will have bluetooth connection to enable users to connect the speaker to their phone if users have their own special playlists on their phone.
In my imagined future, sound and will be a necessity of food and eating. Through this device, users are able to listen to audio/soundtracks anywhere, even when they’re moving around and eating outside.

Love Letter to My Yoga Mat
Dear Manduka Pro Lite Yoga Mat,
From the first time I met you, I fell in love. Your deep cobalt blue drew me to you like an insect to a flame, especially more-so when I heard you were on sale for 50%. I’ve had many other mats before but none of them even comes close to you. Your quality and texture makes you so easy to grip, your padding providing me the perfect amount of support.
You’ve been with me through the highs and lows. From coming with me to college when I was moving to a completely new different country, new school and new people, you helped calm me down every morning. Even through the hard times like this year when I’m stuck at home, you are my ultimate constant. Despite me being with you everyday, you have never failed or disappointed me - looking as beautiful as you were the day I met you.
I love you so much that I can’t imagine a single day without you. You have bewitched my body, mind and soul for the rest of my days.
Love,
Kimmy

Framing Story & Message
What ideas are you challenging/questioning?
I’ve decided that I want to focus on the future of food, specifically the how sounds and our neurology changes the way we taste food. Through this idea, I want to challenge the conventional thinking that food just uses taste and sight, but it can also involve even sound.
How does your future feel? What does it look like? How do people interact?
In this future, restaurants would be playing specific music in order to let their food tastes better, people could make specific playlists to listen to whilst eating a certain type of food. Food will be more exciting and creative. People would place more importance on not only what they eat, but also how they eat.
What’s unexpected about the future? What’s the same?
There would probably be many more kinds of ultra-processed and genetically modified foods, however unlike before where these foods were considered unhealthy like potato chips and soda, the future of processed foods may be advertised as “healthy”, such as many more plant-based meats, increasing the nutrition in food through science, etc.
What’s the problem your object solves? Or creates?
By paying more attention to your senses when eating, perhaps more people would care about the way they eat their food, which may lead them to start caring more about what they eat - which is something extremely important not just as on an individual level, but as a society and for the rest of the world.
This could potentially create problems, in a more extreme sense, manipulation of tastes. Firms may be able to make their food taste better through sound, even though they don’t actually taste very good or not good for people.
What details will you include? What details will you omit?
Another potential area of food that I can incorporate into this project is also other ‘futuristic’ foods such as high protein insects and algae. However, I’m not sure this will work out as it might be too much as I think the sounds of food might be something enough for me to explore.

Constant Output: Week 9
For this week, I chose to focus on the “Activity” section of the app. Rather than just showing the full list of transactions, I really want to include a search bar for the transactions in the event that the user needs to find a specific one. With the search bar, users are able to search for specific names and possibly amounts?
To help make the search function even more specific, I included 3 different filter options: payment in/out, dates and amount. For the date section, when the custom option is selected, a calendar will pop up which will enable users to pick a specific date time frame. The amount filter might also be revised in the future to include a custom option, however I’m unsure how useful this option will be.
With this search function, I hope that users will be able to search through all their transactions very specifically and efficiently, so that they wouldn’t have to keep scrolling through many transactions when they want to find a specific one.

Future Casting Card Sorting
After picking themes, descriptors and enablers, I came up with 3 main ideas:
1) Underwater Cities/Countries.
2) DIY create or edit an entire human being in any way: genes, body, characteristics (like the Sims)
3) E-commerce companies taking over the world and directly manipulating consumers through a brain-washing machine, allowing anyone to be their customer
Through this card sorting process, I noticed a lot of my ideas leaned a lot on technology, this is probably because I personally think technology is an inescapable future, affecting all aspects of our lives. At this point, I’m leaning towards either doing Idea #2 or #3.

Speaker Response: Dominique Davis
Dom’s immersive digital media shows are nothing short of impressive. His works were also very broad in range, spanning from Game of Thrones, to rock climbing walls and white fixtures. It truly was a perfect blend of coding and digital art. What really interested me the most was how he was able to use visuals and audio to create these experiences and also, finding the perfect balance to make the audience be fully immersed in the story that he is telling, whilst at the same time, making sure that it’s not too overwhelming for them. This mistake of potentially going overboard was something that I haven’t really thought of before.
