[written in code, accompanied by a woodcarving of a griffin]
Rook!!!
I really hope I got this right, and that this gets delivered correctly (going to be pedantic just for a moment: the bird you're thinking of is a raven, not a crow — ravens are much bigger! At least, I hope you intended for me to deliver this to an actual bird, and not a capital-c Crow). And that you're well! It's been so long since we've seen each other, or written each other, or — anything, really, and I've missed you both so much. For all I know you guys are monarchs of Ferelden by now.
Things are good in Arlathan! Weird-good, but at this point weird-good is pretty much normal-good. We're learning more about the ruins every day, especially with the help of the Nadas-Dirthalen, which is still getting on every one of my nerves. At least Irelin seems to really enjoy threatening it — she says it makes for good stress relief.
I still get to see plenty of Neve. She's super busy in Dock Town these days, but she's really good at making time for me. She says I make it easy, of course. We're working on maybe trying to get some of my stories published, but I can't think of a good pseudonym. You had to go through a bunch of names back when you were in hiding from the Crows, right? For the first time, I mean. Maybe I could borrow one of those.
Oh, and we saw Davrin! He came by with some Wardens to see if they can figure out why I'm not Blighted anymore, and what that means for them. I don't think we really got anywhere with that, but it was still really nice to see them. Davrin seems really happy these days. He sends his love of course, as well as the attached griffin woodcarving (which I honestly almost kept for myself because wow, that's our little guy! Only he's not very little at all these days — you could sit on his back if you wanted. He grew up to be really beautiful!).
When it's quiet I like to think about what you and Lucanis are up to, where you could be. Maybe you're back on the seas again, never staying in one place for too long, seeing all kinds of cities and gathering a bunch of souvenirs to send to us somehow. You could visit Taash in Par Vollen, or maybe even go farther north — and come back, knowing what's out there. Maybe one day you can settle down somewhere, free of the Crows and the Vorona. You'd open a restaurant together and get old running it.
That's how I'd write it, at least.
Love (a lot of it!),
Bellara
