The #1 Piece of Knowledge That Changed My Life 😳 Have you ever worked 8 hours straight without a break? Do you know how exhausting that is? If you did that, how successful do you think your day be? Around the half way point, you would just give up from stress and overwhelm. I know in the beginning of the year everyone keeps sending you emails or videos to write out your yearlong goals. Although writing out a yearlong goal plan (and actions) may sound great, the reality is that the majority of business owners lose focus or become discouraged before making it halfway through the year (June). Think back, do you know someone who got to the end of the year and didn’t even remotely achieve their “New Year’s resolutions” let along a yearly goal they set for their business? Our brains have this crazy habit of sabotaging us right in the middle of our plans. The reason for this is because, as we start to implement our goals, we automatically get scared and hesitate. We start to think of all the work it’s gonna take, all of the time that’s going to go into trying to achieve it, and then – the main thing -the possibility of failure. Then, when our brain senses hesitation, it starts to believe that there might be a big problem and it shuts down the “problem” to protect us. When you set out something as big and as long as a yearlong plan and go to review it, sometime in February, the overwhelm and hesitation starts creeping in. You start questioning whether or not you can reach these goals, then you start looking at a year as being a long time; longer than you normally would have. You then start to hesitate and that hesitation turns into warning bells to your brain. However, by breaking up your year into a 90 day action plan, we automatically start to feel like our goals could be achievable. I like to plan my goals and set an actionable plan by each quarter of the year – 90 days at a time. You see, we end up seeing 90 days as a short period of time where we can move forward with power and conviction.
