i love when an author truly understands a character so well that they can just put said character in any situation and still have them act correctly. like yeah okay hes a cat cafe owner. hes a middle school teacher. hes a dog. and hes acting exactly how he would act if he was a dog.

so part of the reason he doesn't remember her is because it was such a shitty time at home and he was shutting down he's not just a fuckboy he's a TRAUMATISED fuckboy
If you were smart, you would have cleaned the place of every trace of you, but instead, you're forced to watch him pad through your belongings. Sero, the Sero, dreamboat Sero, is walking his fingers across the shelves in your living room, inspecting the rowing of manga. Sometimes, he hums, like he recognizes something. Other times, he stops on the figurines and pretends to shake their tiny hands in a horribly charming manner.
There's been boys in your apartment before. Well, a boy.
This is different. Sero is different.
He keeps looking back at you with these eyes, these damn eyes that you just can't resist, gently lidded with a smile that feels like it's just for you-
Liking him is stupid. You know that. Boys like him date pretty girls, thin girls, normal girls, better girls-
You adjust your clothes, pulling at the hem until you hear a definite pop. It's the exact outfit you saw on a pretty girl on tiktok, bought with three weeks of allowance, but it feel wrong and cheap against your skin. Wool over a wolf's body, poorly trying to disguise you as something you aren't.
Sero is effortlessly cool. His clothes are loose in they way that still makes him look lean and put together and purposely mismatched. Even his socks are different colors, one white, one black-
"You have a fun place, Cram School." Sero gives you a big smile. He calls you affectionately, since he claims to miss you when you're there. "You really like magical girls, don't you?"
You fiddle with the hem of your shirt more, tugging at the loose threads.
"...Yeah."
He waits a bit to see if you've got more to say, then turns back to your things. He's always attentive with you, even when Kirishima's other friends aren't.
"You totally wanted to be a hero as a kid, didn't you?" His teasing is light and your chest feels the same. "Like this guy?"
Technically, the figure he picks up isn't a hero, but you don't point that out. His warmth is melting you and you swear every atom in your body is slowly buzzing faster and faster.
"No, my quirk isn't good. I could never be a hero. I just..." You trip over your words because you know it's pathetic to admit. You adjust your glasses as you speak, sliding them up and down nervously. "They're sweet, and, and friendly. D-don't you ever wish you could transform into someone else for a little bit?"
There's another pause and you're forced to look directly at him. Your glasses slide down on their own.
"That was so cringe," you whisper.
His shrugs with one shoulder, scuffing his socks against the carpet. "Yeah. I do. Sometimes."
Sero sniffs, then hooks a thumb towards the television. "Do you wanna watch one?"
"A-a show?" you scoff at yourself. "You don't have to do that."
"You're so mean to yourself, Cram School. " Sero laughs. "I want to."
-
He asks questions the first episode. Good ones too. He posts to a character and whispers that it must be your favorite, since he saw the posters of her. Heat from his breath tickles your neck and that helium feeling in your chest just gets tighter.
The third episode, he slings and arm around your shoulders. You had been frozen tall, knees together with hands tucked into your lap, but then he drew you in, right into his collarbone. His elbows are sharp, but you don't mind. Not at all.
You debate touching him back, but your hands stay locked on the hem of your shirt.
When the credits roll, he turns to look at you, face so close to the side of yours that you can feel his nose bump against the wire frame of your glasses.
"Hey."
He whispers it as his hand finds your thigh.
"I'm going to kiss you now, okay?"
He waits a minute, held by your indecisiveness. His skin is acne bitten under his bangs, the pad of fat under his eyes puffs when he smiles.
This isn't a cruel joke, is it? Or some dream you'll wake up from? This is real, painfully real, something that no one can take away from you-
"Okay?"
No one will ever believe that you have a boy in your apartment, one that wants to kiss you despite the glasses and everything else undesirable about you.
Sero whispers you name. Not Cram School, but your name.
You gather up the willpower to squeak out an: "Okay."
And then he does. Lips are dryer than you thought they'd be, but the gentle pull of skin against skin enough to steal your breath away. His own breath quivers with a sigh; he must be able to tell it's your first time, because he goes purposefully slow, moving his mouth slightly more and more open until you match his movements.
When his tongue slips into your mouth, it tastes like the peach tea he's left on your countertops.
For once, you don't want to be anyone else.

Chapter i. Chapter ii. Chapter iii.
Extras; Glossary of Regency era terms/slang.
❝In the faraway region of Alicante laid six bustling kingdoms, each characterized by their rich history and unique exports. Alicante was marred by a peaceful co-existence one no one had ever seen. Perhaps too good to be true, and in the blink of an eye they were thrown into a whirlwind of conflict. They called those days the Raging Storm, speared headed by a group of men who dubbed themselves the “Blades of Justice”.
Eight years since her debut into society the only daughter of the Marquis de Fontaine has all but given up on love. Gone were her days of being a blushing debutante, too enraptured with the idea of being swept up in to romance to think of anything else; now was far too overwrought with what came next in her life. After a chance meeting with the young new royal artist of Dulcis, she finds that perhaps all the fanciful daydreams she spent her adolescence dreaming on could exist far beyond the constraints of the written word.❞

"we're having a costume party at school next week!"
sukuna's only acknowledgement of his nephew's words is that half hum/half grunt sound he makes so often—the one that always seems mostly involuntary and entirely disinterested. to the uninitiated, it might come across as dismissive, but thankfully, having spent his entire life around his uncle, yuuji's fluent enough in his unspoken language to interpret the meaning behind the man's sounds without needing him to elaborate.
"yup!" he continues. "will jichan help me pick my costume?"
sukuna looks over at his nephew, finally tearing his eyes away from the screen of his phone.
"me?" he asks with a quirk of his brow.
yuuji is on the other side of the low table at the centre of the living room, bouncing up and down on the balls of his feet in excitement with his two little hands pressed against the table top where his colouring pages and markers sit abandoned.
"yeah! i gotta pick a good one." yuuji nods enthusiastically.
sukuna breathes a short breath out through his nose, but yuuji understands that, too—the sound of his beloved uncle conceding, if not outright agreement to his demands.
"well i'm not paying for any costume, so your dad better be ready to cough up some cash," sukuna says, slumping back against the sofa behind him and stretching his sock-clad feet out under the kotatsu. "what are your ideas so far?"
"dunno!" yuuji comes bounding around to his side of the table, clambering into his uncle's lap and settling in there.
"why don't you just dress up like a tiger cub again?" sukuna asks, shifting to accommodate the squirming brat now trying to make himself comfortable atop him.
yuuji purses his lips like he's thinking about it. "papa said so too."
yuuji's dressed up like a tiger cub almost every year since he was born (sukuna has many, many photos on his phone to prove it.) it's tried and true. both itadori brothers are decidedly weak to the little boy dressed with fluffy ears and a little tail. it must be genetic.
"but kugisaki said she's dressing up like a cat, so nobody else is allowed to," yuuji adds after a moment of contemplation.
sukuna's met yuuji's school friend kugisaki nobara once or twice when picking his nephew up from school, or dropping him off at play dates on the weekend. the kid's a tyrant.
"off limits then," sukuna says—a bit resentfully, since he won't have another series of photos to add to his phone camera's gallery this year. "so what else?"
"hmmmm," yuuji holds his little chin in his hand as though deep in thought. "what about a ghost?"
"boring," sukuna replies immediately.
"a dog?"
"that's too close to a cat," the man shoots that down just as quickly as the first one. “your bossy little friend won’t like that.”
yuuji nods sagely in agreement and then tries again. “how ‘bout a police officer?"
"cops are losers, brat," sukuna says, suddenly stern. he points at him to add emphasis. "they're not your friends and we don't trust 'em."
yuuji's lips form a little 'o'.
"papa says—"
"your dad's a square, don't listen to him," sukuns lifts the hand that had been pointing at his nephew’s chest and flicks him lightly on the forehead. he yelps in complaint.
"if the police is bad then who do i call if i'm in trouble?" yuuji asks through a pout, rubbing the spot between his brows his uncle had just hit.
"me, obviously," the older man answers without missing a beat.
"oh," yuuji says, his expression evening out again as he acceptis this answer simply. “’kay!"
“so what else is there?” sukuna rubs his chin thoughtfully as he reflects on yuujii’s options. kids’ costumes are—decidedly—not really his area of expertise. in fact, the images that come to mind when he thinks of costumes should really not even be mentioned in the same sentence as children.
“i gotta be something cool,” yuuji insists, watching his uncle think.
“yeah, yeah,” sukuna grunts. “what about somethin’ scary?”
yuuji shrinks into himself a little. “i don’t like scary stuff.”
“don’t be a wimp,” sukuna teases him, but he holds the kid a little tighter and doesn’t bring it up again. there’s a black marker on the living room floor by his thigh, with the word WASHABLE printed in thick block letters along the side. sukuna picks it up, tapping it against the ground as he contemplates his options while his nephew does the same.
tap, tap, tap.
“what about a pumpkin?”
“lame. what about a demon?”
“demons are scary, jicha—“
“yeah, yeah.”
sukuna tosses his head back to rest against the sofa cushions, an arm slung across his eyes.
when he opens them again, inspecting his own forearm, he suddenly has an idea.
(when jin comes home from work, he finds his little brother and his son shirtless in the living room—one inked in tattoos, and one sporting a crude approximation of the same tattoos scrawled in washable marker. jin freezes in confusion at the sight.
“papa, i’m jichan!” yuuji beams proudly up at his father, arms outstretched in display. jin’s eyes turn next to his brother, who’s looking particularly smug.
“kid said he wanted a cool costume,” he shrugs.
yuuji goes as a tiger cub again that year.)

"You follow her around like a dog, man," Sero says finally, and even if the surrounding ballroom chatter doesn't cease for a moment as the table set for ten starts to receive their first course salads, the parallel conversations among the group of old friends halt abruptly to a stop. Eijiro gives Sero a raise of the eyebrow, then turns to Katsuki, expecting to have to mitigate his hot temper.
The latter clearly has heard the jeer, but he's not the same as perhaps a decade ago, where any one of Sero's teasing comments could have set him off. Glancing back for a second in the direction where you left just moments ago to go to the bathroom, followed by most of the other women at the table, he then turns to look directly at Sero.
"Yeah, that's love, right?" he says, calmly.
Kirishima blinks for a moment, incredulous, then exchanges a look with Kaminari beside him.
Katsuki, as if he hasn't said something highly uncharacteristic of himself, reaches for a bread roll in the middle of the table and then a butter knife.
"You didn't see me follow her into the bathroom, did you?" he adds. Sero snorts, but leans back into his chair.
"I mean no, but-"
Katsuki smears butter on the roll, and sets it on your empty plate, then takes another piece of bread to and butters it the same before taking a bite.
"But what?" he asks. The edge to his voice is back, something that paradoxically puts Sero back at ease.
"It looks strange on you," Denki finally points out.
Katsuki chews for a moment, then swallows, his eyes making a quick scan across the room. At another table, Midoriya's partner is focused on adjusting the lapel of his suit, and at yet another table, Iida is trying to convince Mei to keep her gadgets off the table before the MC starts another toast.
The bride and groom continue to cruise around the venue, and Katsuki cannot stop thinking about how beautiful you would look in that exact dress.
Or something of your own.
"I just can't imagine what the fuck she did-" Sero starts again before Eijiro cuts him off.
"Just knock it off for a second," he says, gently but assertively. Katsuki doesn't pay any mind to him as he observes the table favors.
These flowers are beautiful, but they aren't your favorite. They're gorgeous, but made of plastic while you'd prefer hundreds of real ones.
You've told him small weddings feel more intimate. This wedding isn't in the right season for you, but it's your second choice. You don't yet know how many people will be in the bridal party but you've floated some ideas.
You don't yet have a ring on your finger.
The many thoughts dissipate when your hand rests gently on his shoulder as you slip back into the seat next to him.
"Oh, they didn't bring out the food yet," you say, and Katsuki points to the bread on your plate, reminding you to eat.
His friends are captive audiences as you smile and take a bite, and perhaps horrified as he smiles back warmly, genuinely.
Love does look strange on him, perhaps.
But they'll have to get used to it because it will not go away.

being betrayed in the worst possible way by your lover, and you curse them from the absolute bottom of your heart to anything that's out there, staking your life on your sincerity, as you wail on the cold tiled floor of your bathroom. you want them to suffer the way that you are. want them to know what your agony feels like. you want them dead. then you drain the rest of the bottle you've been drinking to numb the pain, and pass out.
the next morning you wake up, and through the ache of your hangover it takes you a moment to realize that you're not alone.
there, at the end of your bed, sits someone you've never seen before—you're sure of it, because you know that you'd remember a man with staples that curl up like a cheshire cat smile along his cheeks. you'd recognize a man with flesh that looks like it's survived immolation. a man whose blue eyes burn like the hottest part of a fire.
he's watching you watch him, concerned by neither your consciousness nor your horror.
"who are you?" you ask him with a waver in your voice as you sit slowly up in bed. you sound meek. frightened.
his brows pinch together slightly, his lips lifting at one corner—like he's somehow amused by what you've asked him.
"name's touya," he replies. and even though his voice is low and smooth, it makes goosebumps prickle across your skin. makes something squirm in the pit of your stomach. "a little birdie told me that you want someone dead."
you blink at him, confused and petrified. your lips part and close again before you finally find your tongue.
"wha—"
"ah, ah, ah," this man, this thing, that calls himself touya waggles his finger at you, cutting you off before you can even voice your own confusion. "we heard every word of it. you want revenge on the bastard who hurt you, and you're even willing to put down your life as payment."
at the memory of your lover and their betrayal, you feel a vicious pain rip through you. your head hangs, and your fingers twist into your bedsheets where your hands rest in your lap.
a gentle touch beneath your chin makes your flinch. touya's hand is so warm, and he uses a single finger to tilt your face back up towards him. he's so much closer to you now, though you never felt the bed shift as he moved, and he smiles down at you as he leans into your space.
"lucky for you i happen to be in the business of making just that kind of deal."

a/n. second time writing from bkg's perspective. this was so fun! (1.1k)
the moment that cemented bakugou’s resolve to marry you wasn’t exactly grand.
it wasn’t your first kiss.
or the first time you made love to each other.
not even the first time you met his nerd-ass friends or his (slightly) overbearing parents. although those two come as close runner-ups.
no, it was rather a random saturday morning after you spent a night at his place, now clad in what he thinks is nothing but your intimates and a burnt orange t-shirt of his that drapes loosely over your frame.
and as he enters the kitchen and closes the distance between the two of you with a few strides, he can’t help but wonder what you’re doing—deeply focused on your laptop—when you’re probably the one who’s extra pedantic about not bringing work home.
“morning,” he grunts, leaning down to kiss your cheek, which you happily accept. although, to his chagrin, your eyes remain on your computer screen, not even sparing him a single glance.
he knows it’s fucking embarrassing, how strongly you elicit feelings within him without you even fucking trying, but he can’t stop the frown that takes over his face even if he attempted to fight it.
shaking off the irrational disappointment from not even being ignored, he rounds the kitchen island and starts brewing the two of you coffee.
“by the way,” he starts, glancing at you over his shoulder, “the old hag’s birthday is coming up. she wants to have dinner with just the four of us, or some shit.”
“i know,” you simply pipe up from where you’re seated on one of his fancy bar stools, gaze still glued on whatever the fuck it is that’s keeping your attention from him.
he turns to you, a manual coffee grinder in tow. “you do?”
at that, you finally look up at him, an innocent expression etched across your features. “you don’t remember? i asked you when your parents’ birthdays were way back in march.”
way back in march.
back when you unanimously decided to decisively end the dating phase and become boyfriend-girlfriend.
“yeah?” is the only thing he manages to get out.
you let out a soft laugh that’s nothing but music to his ears. “yeah, dummy.”
before you can get to see the red that’s most definitely creeping up to his cheeks, bakugou turns his back against you, returning to busying himself with crushing the beans into fine powder and pouring lukewarm water into the machine.
only a few months before reaching a full year together, and you still manage to make him fucking blush.
over the most mundane things, too.
when he first got into his very first relationship with you at the ripe age of 28, he thought he’d outgrown and was way past the embarrassing shit that the human body was capable of when dealing with anything remotely close to romance.
it didn’t take him long enough into your relationship to find out he was so, so wrong.
sighing, he pours out the cup of ground beans onto the filter, finally pressing the button and bringing the coffee maker to life.
you must be done with what’s highly likely is work by now.
but chancing a glance at you, he’s once again met with palpable disappointment when the very same sight greets him.
before he can rein them in, the words come tumbling out of his lips.
“the fuck is so important on that laptop?”
his booming voice must’ve caught you off guard, because you startle ever so minutely in your seat.
“sorry,” he quickly adds on, albeit through a mutter; frustration with himself and his inability to modulate his voice added to the increasingly long list of emotions he’s having to fucking deal with right now.
waving him off, you shoot him another one of that disarming smile of yours. “‘s funny that you ask. i was just about to ask you for your opinion.”
with that, you gesture him to come close with your fingers. curious, he once again rounds the island, ultimately occupying the spot to your right and leaning down to peer at the small text on your screen.
before he can even get a word in, you hurriedly explain yourself. “mitsuki-san mentioned her personal sewing machine broke, so i’ve been thinking about getting her a new one.”
you point to a sleek, off-white model among what looks to be a vast array of selections, “i researched the specs and i think this one’s the best. what do you think?”
a million things course through his mind in an instant, but what he ends up sputtering out is: “you’re such a fucking nerd, you know that?”
at that, you look up at him, your seemingly perpetually moisturized lips now formed into a playful pout, and it takes everything in him not to just pull you in for a kiss and completely abandon the conversation in its entirety.
but he’d like to think he at least has the slightest bit of self-control.
even if you do wear him the fuck out on a daily basis.
“i just want to make sure it’s perfect!” you argue, shifting to stare at your laptop again and bringing him back to the present. your voice is way smaller when you continue. “…i want her to like me.”
he doesn’t even miss a beat. “she already fucking does, dumbass.”
and she really does.
the morning after bakugou first brought you to meet his parents a whopping two months into calling it official, mitsuki texted him something along the lines of having the family heirloom slash ring already adjusted to fit your finger.
he immediately called the old hag after receiving the message just to reprimand her ear off for being too fucking forward and for meddling too much.
but, if he were to be completely honest with himself, he was angry not because mitsuki was imposing, but because he couldn’t believe his mother beat him to that important realization.
the realization that maybe, just maybe, you’re the one.
and now, as he studies you as you scroll through more and more iterations of the best sewing machines on the market with your eyebrows adorably furrowed in utmost concentration, it dawns on him.
it dawns on him that that maybe just turned into a definitely.

You start your first date with Bakugou with a bad taste in your mouth because when he parked at the restaurant he pointed at you and gruffly said “Stay” and got out of the car without another word. Like you were some kind of dog or something.
The bad taste quickly left when a few seconds later he opened your door, unbuckled your seatbelt, and offered you a hand to step out of his big ass SUV.
#yes he drives a big ass suv on a first date#because that bitch is bullet proof and like a tank#so if any villain tries some shit. he knows you’re safe in the car.#and yes he does think about all that shit for the first date#this man dates to marry#by the end of the date he is already like ‘this is my wife’#also i’d like to think a first date with him is a lot of these instances#where he will say something or do something that looks harsh#but quickly after you find out it’s for the sweetest reason#<- id like to thank prev bc omfg YES#bakugou katsuki#my hero academia#evieslibrary

Retired pro hero Bakugou buying a really old abandoned home in Japan and restoring it while living in it.
It's all he's got, a lot of his friends have wives, families, kids, some of them even expecting a first grandkid and Bakugou in his 40s has nothing of his life to show for aside from the undisputed number one spot on the hero charts for 20 years straight and more scars than he can count.
He feels he relates to the house, old, once adored but now empty.
He wants to change that, wants to be more than an idea or idol, wants to disassociate from Dynamight and just be Bakugou Katsuki but he isn't sure he knows who that is. Dynamight is still parts of him yes but exaggerated, in all his years Katsuki knows he can soften he just doesn't know where.
Although he's ready to find out. Sadly or maybe fortunately, he's the type of man who has to find out through action and hard work. He bought the house site unseen, didn't even Google what the front of the home looked like he didn't care.
Standing in front of his mostly dilapidated home he feels good, crossing his arms over his chest as he lets his mind wander on where to start. Eyes sharp, cutting into the features of the home as he assesses just like he would any villain situation.
"Excuse me Dyna-" You clear your throat before he looks at you, as you remember his retiring announcement of him saying Dynamight can go fuck himself. I'm Bakugou Katsuki now.
"Excuse me Bakugou. I brought you a little welcome gift. I'm your neighbor." You don't flinch when his heavy gaze flicks to you, don't shy away from his snarl and if anything your smile grows as you offer up the bento and plate of cookies.
He doesn't take them and you don't take offense, just gently pull them back to yourself as you look at the home
"I'm so happy you bought the Sato house. They were good neighbors. They lived here when I was younger by both passed suddenly. Old age does that ya know? They didn't have any children but Mrs. Sato taught me her special rice for bentos."
You're rambling but you don't care, you'd just bought your childhood home from your parents a month prior. Fearful your home would suffer the same fate as the Satos. That the love and memories would be washed away by the rain and neglect. That the air around the home would worsen each year it went unaccompanied until it became so stagnant with neglect it became a miasma that not even the toughest soul could stomach.
Yet here stood Bakugou strong and tall outside a broken home.
"I don't think it's anything special by the way. Just a bit more soy sauce or sesame seed oil, I think she was what made it special."
Katsuki looks down at you for a long time, sees your fingers twitch against the fabric of the neatly wrapped bento, watches you swallow thickly and lashes flutter to combat the burn in your eyes as you stare at the home. You turn to face him, give a polite smile and nod of your head in a brief good bye before his voice stops you.
"I'll be the judge of that." You furrow your brows in confusion, looking up at him before his big warm palm comes under the bento to lift from your hands, "If the rice is special or not."
He watches your face light up, a true genuine smile that could compete with the sun and he feels something deep in his chest ache. Feels it yearn to reach out to you but he stands firm in his spot as he watches you disappear down the short overgrown walk way back to your home.
He doesn't even need to try the fucking rice to know the answer.
The rice was going to be special because you made it, Katsuki's sure of it.
