Happy Lunar New Year - as the year of the snake, here is my favorite snake of them of all. An update to one of my earlier works - I always love an idea of breaking apart of masks and exteriors. This is layers with meaning for me and as the year begins, let's is break through those barrier that hold us captive. 🥀

My sweet sweet Shallan. It took me awhile to really be able to imagine her on paper and I really wanted to capture her enthusiasm, hesitancy, anxiety, and self-consciousness. She truly is one of my favorite character out there because of how real she feels through the workings of a teenager who is dealing with her personal trauma in the midst of tragic world events.

My baby girl is almost finished! I’ve been in love with her character since book one and I really wanted to portray her uneasiness, slight awkwardness, and still complete mischievousness. ✨

Her scarf now tightly wound around his hands, he felt her around him, consuming his every thought. Closing his eyes, he could almost feel her against his skin. Her scorching touch, the temptress. He sighed, hoping to inhale her scent into his very being. He wanted her and there was no turning back. He wanted her against all he held dear.
