If you want the holy to enter into your life and stay, then don’t believe the lie of the unholy passion that pursues you.

Pineapple of my eye, goodbye
Kinda interesting that a pineapple that caused the end of a relationship because of a fight also turned into a literal fly-infested rotten mess. God has a way of sending signs!

“Again, you have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘Do not break your oath, but fulfill to the Lord the vows you have made.’ But I tell you, do not swear an oath at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne; or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King. And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black. All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:33-37‬ ‭

Any other Orthodox and Catholics get tired of people utterly misunderstanding the role of saints in our faiths and thinking we worship saints and idols and treat them like gods when we literally don’t do anything even remotely like that? i don’t need you to answer, I know we’re all collectively sick of it. sigh

John 15:9-11
Jesus said to his disciples:
“As the Father loves me, so I also love you.
Remain in my love.
If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love,
just as I have kept my Father’s commandments
and remain in his love.
“I have told you this so that
my joy might be in you and
your joy might be complete"

Purity Culture vs. God
Purity Culture says you are only pure if you are a virgin.
God says only He can purify us from our sins through His love.
Purity Culture says if you have sex before marriage, you are like “chewed gum”.  Who would want you after that?
God says if you have sex before marriage, yes you made a mistake: but He is there to pick you back up to try again.
Purity culture focuses on the importance of virginity to show how much you “love” your future spouse.
God focuses on your unchangeable worth as a human being, lovingly made in His Image, and to share that reality both body and soul with your future spouse.
Purity Culture breeds women who fear sex as something dirty and wrong and expects them to change that thought overnight in time for their wedding.
God raises up women AND men who love Him so much, they are willing to follow all His laws.  And should they have fear, to look to Him for guidance and peace.
Purity culture is a man-made and flawed institution that distorts the gift of sexuality, making it something to control, push aside, and fear.
God is our Creator who designed us, and wants us to use the gift of sexuality with great love and chastity, whatever His plans for us are.
“We are the not sum of our weaknesses and failures: we are the sum of the Father’s love for us.”
-St. John Paul II

1 John 4:7-12
“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.”

Prayers: I am struggling with jealousy and comparing myself to others. Also, I'm struggling with showing off to my ex, when I should just be rejoicing in the gifts God has given me, and pray for those who are lacking spiritual growth or Love.
