Of course, anon! I’ve been looking forward to writing this, haha.

Just a disclaimer, since I’m covering three days worth of moments, I’m not going to talk about everything that happened. If a moment is excluded, it’s because a similar moment has occurred in the past and I’ve touched on it in previous analyses or it was too ambiguous.

There was one major new moment that stuck out to me when reviewing all that occurred on the first day of the dot concerts.

Moment #1- JI laughing and draping himself over KS [x]

During an mnet, JI found something particularly funny and as he laughs, he reaches for KS. He initially has one of his hands on one shoulder, but soon reaches over so he’s draped over both of KS’s shoulders. Towards the end of the video, he moves closer and appears to raise his leg behind KS.

It’s a known fact that when JI laughs, he tends to be very handsy which is exactly what’s taking place here. He originally grabs onto KS’s shoulder for support, which is something that a lot of people do when they find something comical. Using these (×) images to examine the secondary part of this, JI appeared to have also use the opportunity to gauge KS’s reaction. He gains purchase on KS’s shoulders then slings his frame onto KS’s front so he could look up and assess if KS also found the joke as hilarious as he did. I think he just raises his leg in reaction to whatever he found amusing.

As I’ve mentioned before, JI and KS both have a distinctive habit of checking each other’s reaction when something that induces laughter happens. This usually happens among pairs that are particularly close as they want to share their joy with each other/check to see if their reaction is appropriate for the situation. If a member of the pair notices that the other person isn’t laughing along, they usually adjust themselves to match the other person’s reaction. A great example would be JI’s reaction to jokes directed at KS during the Knowing Bros episode (x- read section entitled Space Invasion & Gauging).

Additional Notes

There were three other moments that I noticed, but didn’t think they needed a “in-depth” look.

Moment #1- Question [x][x]

SH posed a question to KS that he didn’t hear, so JI stepped up and repeated the question for him. It’s not much, but it just reinforces how JI is there to support KS.

Moment #2- KS touching JI’s face [x]

While another ment is taking place, JI, KS, and CY are conversing amongst themselves. At one point, JI points to something on KS’s face (to play a small prank on him), but KS doesn’t see him. CY taps KS to get his attention at the same time as JI, but KS pays attention to JI who’s gesturing again. Thinking that JI is referring to something on his face, KS reaches over to touch the area that JI highlighted only for JI to reciprocate the action to tell KS that he was talking about him.

Normally, I would believe that most people would instinctively touch their own face first when someone motions to them in the way that JI did to KS. However, KS’s predisposition to caretake shows itself here as he’s naturally ready to think about helping JI before he thinks about helping himself.

Moment #3- Universe passing touch [x]

As they changed platforms, JI and KS briefly hold hands.

This is something that for as long as I’ve watched KD, I’ve noticed them do and as seen in this moment, KS is usually the one to initiate it. The moment reads to me as a way to acknowledge each other as JI and KS cross paths since they can’t ignore each other’s presence.
