Old Style Hopi Carved Eagle Traditional Katsina Doll

Eagles occupy a rather unique position among the Hopi, for they are treated as honored guests and are given presents just as the Hopi children are. Eagle is the messenger between the people and their spirit guides.

Absolutely fabulous antler carved Rock Band. This 6-piece set (3 band members, two drums and a cymbal) is a prime example of Zuni carver Esteban Najera's superior skill in working with antler.

This beautifully etched vase has eagles encircling the vase. it is believed that Eagle is the messenger between the People and the Great Spirit.

A spectacular Katsina carved with wonderful motion. The owl has an aggressive stance among a burned out part of the forest.

This unusual sterling silver cuff is almost two bracelets. One with the long coral oval stones and the other has smaller oval turquoise stones. This unique piece was handcrafted by Navajo silversmith Tommy Moore.

This clown has the best expression on his face, sort of questioning, sort of in a half smirk. A beautiful carving, the musculature and the structure of the human body is flawless.

This wonderful three-strand necklace is made of coral beads and accented with silver blossom bead spacers. The ends are finished with sterling silver blossom beads and a hook and eye clasp.

This wonderful pot was handbuilt and handetched by Mata Ortiz resident Heri Mora. This pot shows skeletons in a churchyard--a couple dressed up as if they got married and a group of musicians serenading the couple.

Effigy pots are recreations of ancient vessels that were found in and around the Paquime/Casas Grandes region of Chihuahua, Mexico. It is believed that these pieces were created to depict the birds and animal life that were so important to the people.��
