I almost quit bullet journaling...here's why I changed my mind
I'm picky
When I started loosing interest in my bullet journal, I started to look into alternative planners in hopes of finding one that fit my needs. However when I looked most had either a weekly or a daily spread, but my type-A anxious self needs something that shows both at the same time with just the amount of space I need. I kept looking at them and none worked the way my brain needed them to.
2. I find pride in making my bullet journal cute.
I have seen so many videos of people quitting bullet journaling because of the pressure to make cute spreads. First of all, a bullet journal does not need to be artsy at all. (In fact, that is kind of the opposite motto of the original bullet journaling modo). I can see why that is a problem for some people and tbh I also started to get annoyed with having ugly spreads during months where I was busier (or simply didn't feel like doing it). However, when I almost quit, I got sad at the idea of giving that part up. I wouldn't consider myself an artistic person, but I liked having something that made me try to bring out that side of me more.
3. Tracking + Sentence-a-day
One of my favorite spreads in my bullet journal is my sentence-a-day spread. It is a page where I put a little summary of each day of the month in a little chart. I have always wanted to be someone who kept a daily journal/diary, but I have never had the consistency. However, my sentence-a-day spread makes it so that I can make a quick diary entry that makes it easier to remember a day when I revisit my journal a month/year/decade from now. I could keep this tradition up in a more generalized journal, but I know myself-- I wouldn't.
