Welp there we go lovelies! I am back at the house, the trip is officially over. Thanks everyone for joining me on my trip to the other side of the globe! I hope you had fun! I'll be going through my photos on my camera and still posting a few photos here of things if anyone still wants to follow, but that's pretty much it. Now for unpacking!

We bought peaches at one of those gift fruit shops today. Man, they do not mess around with their fruit! Some of the peachiest peaches that have ever peached! We ate them whole, sitting on a bench. Oh man the LOOKS we got! XD

Found a Hokkaido food store this morning. They do not eff around with their dairy products. That pudding was so smooth it was practically indecent. The milk I had even had the cream on top! Also we found the KitKat boutique!

Back in Tokyo for our last full day. And its curry for breakfast this morning! Then Beard Papa cream puffs. Regular and pineapple in akihabara. Also, and unfortunately not pictured because I forgot to take one, is the milk bar we went to! Old style, with little glass bottles of different flavours. We each had two; coffee for me, and fruit for hubby.

Today’s snacks were at a tea House called Amezake Chaya, that is 350 years old along the old imperial highway near Motohakone ko. The interior in all old wood, packed dirt floor, with a raised wood floor and fire pit. We had amezake, a sweet thick rice drink, and super fresh mochi with three different toppings. So, SO good. Again, I got to have a conversation with the owner lady about where we’re from, why my husband doesn’t understand Japanese, and she asked why I had such good pronunciation. (Yay!)

Breakfast in the Ryokan this morning, and a few shots of our room. Outdoor personal hot spring!

Another Ryokan night! This time with more in room service. The meal was lovely with a lot of nice fresh ingredients, and beef pot pie for some reason. Unfortunately, our service lady is speaking an awful lot of very polite Japanese and I'm not catching everything. >.> ....speaking of, random guy just showed up to set up the futons. This is...kinda awkward.
#Hakone#ryokan#Im not sure if were supposes to be here for this?#I need an instruction sheet for how to stay at a hotel#ryokans are stressful

Its a huge tourist area up at the top, so of course there were snacks. XD we found black ice cream, which was basically vanilla with volcanic ash in it, egg ice cream which tasted like really good eggnog, and kuro tamago(black eggs) They're boiled in the sulfur springs which turns the shell black. Other than that they're exactly like a regular boiled egg.
#Hakone#black icecream#egg ice cream#kuro tamago#and of course everything had a very slight sulfur taste

Today we are in the mountain resort town of Hakone. We took a train, then a feniculaire, then a terrifying cable car of doom up to the top of the mountain where we had stunning views of clouds as they whipped past us at high speeds. smallishgirleh, Toothless is admiring the scenery of the valley ( which we are assured is down there somewhere.) Its a volcanic mountain so the ride in the cable car over the crest of the mountain was like descending into a foggy, farty, Mordor.
#Hakone#Japan#the wind was really strong#you were literally walking through clouds#which is much less romantic in real life and far more moist#with a prevailing odor of fart
