Weird tape situation left from past roommates. Someone like left tape that also had news paper writing on the backside of it. And then someone else painted over it. It gives me the ick so trying to cover it. Well first I tried to peel it which went all the way to the layer of paint underneath, the blue. So than I just spackled over it that’s kind of working. I just don’t want to see the tape cause it just isn’t right to have tape obvious painted over on your wall. I can’t explain why. I just know that in my soul.

I’m fixing up my apartment. And I uh decided to document it. This is my second post today. I’m not sure how I’m gonna continue to document this. I like the idea of doing it on Tumblr cause I don’t think I even have any followers. And a couple of people coming across this randomly feels romantic. My friend who is in a crisis is also staying here today. Supporting her but I’m also not in the best position and I got to get this done so I can get roommates and not have to cover rent on my own.

Umm, going to start documenting my apartment fix up. Little story by Kehlani playing as I remove these long ass staples from fuck ass past tenants cause why? And then ppl just painted over it. But maybe just cause I respect rental properties more than I should. Cause actually who cares.

Documenting so that I can look back on my efforts. And show myself I can do things. Home has always been a strange thing to me do to moving around a lot and bouts of homelessness as a kid.

Why are they so fucking long though. A bitch to take out of the wall. And it’s leaving holes that I have to patch. But i love patching walls I feel like a real DIY enby.

I get stage fright, sometimes it's so bad im shaking. While doing my usual preparation for a show (i.e. eating every healthy thing, listening to affirmation tapes, meditating, martial arts, yoga, watching inspirational vids) I came across an #iyanlavanzant video talking about how she didn't believe she had anything worthwhile to say... and she was a public speaker. It was through sheer force of will that she continued, not an honest belief in herself. She'd been told as a child to sit down and shut up, stop running her mouth and it became a pathology of her mind. If I had a penny for everytime someone told me to stop singing, I'd be on a road to riches. And not just that, but that I sucked, or through actions showed me that I couldn't get singing parts because of what I looked like. But I didn't sing for other people, I sang because it saved my spirit. And that's what has kept me going and developing as an artist despite not really believing in myself. Tonight I'm bringing this to do a clearing ritual before I perform at #fortheloveofart to clear myself of the demons of voices past that invade my psyche. I want to honor music and all it has given me by sharing it, and to do that it's time to let go of fear. #stagefright #anxiety #selfcare #moveonup
