When I see a pristine picture of somebody doing yoga surrounded by a perfect tropical wonderland, I often think to myself, it’s easy to practice yoga in paradise. It’s the moments when we don’t think we have the right resources to practice, that we need to the most. When there is too much to do, not enough space, blah blah… If we always waited for everything to be perfect before we began; not a whole lot would get done. It’s not about waiting to do yoga until I feel like it, it’s about doing yoga because I know it will help me to feel amazing. Actually it’s not about yoga at all, it’s about embodying what I practice. It’s one thing finding stillness in stillness. It’s another to find stillness in the chaos. It’s one thing to speak truth when I decide when & what to speak. It’s another to speak truth when it scares me. I want to plunge into the lake of life fully clothed in all that is me. Not one thought of whether I should stripe something off before going in or not. Without hesitation, plunging proudly and fearlessly. These earrings are a product of my forgetfulness. A reflection of my head in the clouds. The other day as I was finally cleaning up my resin work space, I was putting away the molds and realized I hadn’t added any colors or crystals to the resin In the butterflies. It was back in December that I had made these and I am just finding them , 2 perfectly good butterflies, that I neglected. (Well, one has a teeny tiny purple crystal in it-not sure how it got there.) The fact I didn’t put any crystals in, makes them super light- perfect for earrings 🦋🦋 I drilled a few small holes and voila - there you have it folks.
