I'm gonna leave japanentertainment, like my haitus last time, this blog would still be open as an archive but unlike last time, this time the haitus is for good. I had been preety busy and I wanna try out something new like learning Aramaic and Russian languages and ASL, and I feel that it's time to let this blog go, Had a good time being with you guys, the anons and the askers, my followers, the lurkers and the rebloggers! I think I'm going to miss all the copypastas of the news, but let us all part in good vibes and let us all continue love our fave Jartists.

We’ve all heard rumors about Kamenashi Kazuya’s hobby in cross-dressing, but there are also other Johnny’s who share the same hobby as Kame.

“It’s Kanjani8’s Yokoyama Yu. He dresses up as a woman a lot for the Kanjani8 show, Kanjani no Shiawake. And those experiences ignited something deep within him and he started experimenting. He tried to hide it at first but he met Kame at a press conference once and said right out that he wanted to try wearing a skirt. People have even said that he has dressed up as a woman in public before.” Said a production insider.

Yoko might like wearing women’s clothing, but like Kame, he isn’t doing it because he enjoys the male attention.

“He just thinks that it’s important to polish his womanly fashion sense, doing so will allow him to be more creative in creating his roles when he acts.” Said a television writer.

Rumor has it that Kame and Yoko have tried establishing a cross-dressing club together within Johnny’s. There were at least 20 Jrs. who showed interest in joining, which shocked the both of them. Additionally, between members of this club, they call it “J-Kai.”

“It’s the combination of Johnny’s J and cross-dressing’s (josou) J. The two of them even talked about doing a collaboration for the fashion show XX’s Girls Collection to walk the runway in women’s clothes.”

Recently, there is also word that cross-dressing has piqued Aiba Masaki’s interest because of his co-star Matsuko Delux in Mikeneko no Holmes. Perhaps this signals the beginning of a cross-dressing trend within the entertainment industry?

KAT-TUN talks about Akanishi Jin’s marriage for the first time

On April 22nd, popular group KAT-TUN held a press conference before their concert at Tokyo Dome, and commented about former member Akanishi Jin’s marriage with Kuroki Meisa.

Tanaka Koki shared, “We also didn’t know about the marriage until media reported it. We felt like, ‘Oh, this is the another one.’“ ”He didn’t contact us, so I don’t know how should I comment about that,”Kamenashi Kazuya reflected.

        According to reports, Akanishi Jin’s decision to study abroad in 2006 as well as his withdrawal from KAT-TUN in 2010 were only made known to the members after the fact. “I guess we [KAT-TUN members] are the only five people in the world who would never be surprised about that. We were surprised when he decided going abroad to study,” Kamanashi commented. “ If I didn’t say anything now, people would think I’m cold … so as a person, I would say, ‘Congratulations.’”

Regarding Kuroki’s pregnancy, Kamenashi said, “It’s something to be congratulated on.” However, he also added, “Marriage means there is a partner [Kuroki], so I want him to do fine [to follow the rules].”

KAT-TUN is in middle of their concert tour ‘CHAIN‘, which will take place in twelve cities. The final concert will be in Sendai on the 28th.

Miliyah Kato Sings Coca-Cola's Olympic Campaign Song

Miliyah Kato has been chosen to sing the song "HEART BEAT" for Coca-Cola's new 2012 London Olympics campaign. The new song will be used specifically for the Japanese campaign, while producer Mark Ronson's "Anywhere in the World" will be used as the global campaign song.

     "[HEART BEAT] is a song that makes one want to dance. I think it will give energy for this year's athletes as well," Miliyah Kato explained.

m-flo's Taku will be producing the song. He stated that he was inspired by Coca-Cola's campaign slogan "Move to the Beat" when creating this song. He describe the beat as energetic, positive and powerful.

Momoiro Clover Z announces new single + summer hall tour

Momoiro Clover Z has announced that they will be releasing a new single (currently untitled) on June 27th!

Aside from the title track, the single will contain “PUSH“, which is currently being used as the CM song for Lotte’s ice cream, “Sou“. This song was performed in front of an audience for the very first time during the second night of the group’s concert, ‘Momoclo Haru no Ichidaiji 2012 Yokohama Arena Masaka no 2DAYS‘, on April 22nd.

     Additionally, it was announced that Momoiro Clover Z will be holding a nationwide hall tour this summer. It will kick off on June 17th at NHK Hall. The girls will travel to a total of 10 cities. To wrap up this tour, they will hold a concert called ‘Momoclo Summer Dive 2012‘ on August 5th at Seibu Dome.

Ticket information will be revealed at a later date.

AKB48 to Form 3rd Overseas Sister Group Based in China

On the chinese official website of AKB48, it's announced today that producer Akimoto Yasushi will create an AKB48 sister group based in Shanghai, China titled SNH48. Note: Shanghai is pronounced as Shanhai in Japanese

This will be the 3rd overseas sister group after JKT48 and TPE48, and the 6th overall sister group. Akimoto Yasushi will again be the chief supervisor of this group. It is currently scheduled to start holding nationwide auditions by early August this year, and is expected to complete its 1st 16 members to form Team S by 8th December, which is the 7th anniversary of AKB48.

Sasaki Nozomi holds release event for ‘NOZOMI COLLECTION’

On April 22nd, model/actress Sasaki Nozomi held a release event for her first album, ‘NOZOMI COLLECTION‘, at Lazona Kawasaki.

      Sasaki, who made her singing debut back in 2010, expressed, “I never thought I would release an album, so I’m surprised. I’m thankful.” Instead of singing songs off her new album, she held a talk show which attracted over 8,000 fans.

‘NOZOMI COLLECTION’ features a total of 8 songs including her debut song, “Kamu to Funyan“, a cover of Moritaka Chisato’s hit song, “Jin Jin Jingle Bell feat. Pentaphonic“, and “Papepipu ♪ Papipepu ♪ Papepipupo ♪“, which was used as the theme song for a popular anime series. It also includes Sasaki’s first song she wrote herself called “For You“, and it conveys her honest feelings for her mom who lives in Akita Prefecture.

                         Sasaki reflected upon the recording saying, “There were many times when I felt I wanted to run away.” She also sent out a message to her fans, “I want everyone to challenge themselves to something they’re not good at. If it’s no good, then you can quit. I feel it’s important to challenge yourself to it at least once.”

At the end of the event, child actress Tani Kanon made an appearance, wearing the same outfit as Sasaki. “I think our round eyes look the same, but I don’t think I could become that pretty when I become an adult,” Tani said as she made a comparison. In response, Sasaki stated, “I think I was like Kanon-chan when I was little. I’m glad there was an opportunity like this. She’s really cute.”

BREAKERZ to release 13th single, “Overwriting/Nonai Survivor”

Rock band BREAKERZ has announced that they will be releasing their 13th single, “Overwriting/Nonai Survivor“, on June 13th!

“Overwriting” will be used as the ending theme song for the NTV anime series, ‘Meitantei Conan‘, which airs every Saturday from 6:00 pm. Meanwhile, “Nonai Survivor” will be the official image song for ‘CARDFIGHT! Vanguard‘, as well as the main theme for TV Tokyo’s card fight drama, ‘STAND UP! Vanguard‘.

The single will be available in 3 different versions: Limited Edition A, Limited Edition B, and Regular Edition.

Limited Edition A will come with a DVD containing the music clip and off shot for “Overwriting”,  

The DVD for Limited Edition B will include the music clip and off shot for “Nonai Survivor”. Additionally, the Regular Edition will enclose a trading card (one out of 4).

I wanna take you to a gay bar~

Idol Sakurai Sho, who also moonlights as a newscaster, was seen at Shinjuku Ni-chome. It looks like he was secretly visiting a gay bar.

Bar S, a well-known gay bar in Ni-chome, does not allow females or new comers to enter. This bar is known for being a traditional gay bar (heterosexuals need not apply.) Their employees are also gay. Their bartender is a middle-aged bearded man. So why did Sho visit that bar?

“Sakurai Sho is normal and definitely not gay. He just likes talking to people while he drinks. Since he’s super popular, he can’t go to cabaret clubs or any of the other bars. And somehow, he just ended up going to bars in Ni-chome.” Said a tabloid reporter.

Sakurai Sho is a busy man, from dramas to varieties to news. If he says anything out of line, people would send in complaints to the stations so one can only imagine how much stress he is under.

The waiters at the bar can keep secrets and they are very nice to all their customers. This is very soothing to such a stressed man. When Sakurai goes to the bar, they often deny entrance to other people and do their best to let him let loose in the store. Sakurai is so busy that sometimes he works until the last train, and even then they’ll try their best to match his schedule so he visits even when he’s super busy. If he has the time, he’d go at least 2-3 times a month. 

As such a popular idol, one can hardly believe that Sakurai goes to a gay bar to relax. With a no females rule, this might be the only place he can get away from prying eyes.

Morning Musume to become zombies in next stage play

On Wednesday, a press event was held forMorning Musume’s next stage play, “Stacies Shoujo Saisatsu Kageki.” This will be the group’s first play after current leader Niigaki Risa graduates on May 18. Member Tanaka Reina will take on the starring role, supported by 8 other members of the group.

      “Stacies Shoujo Saisatsu Kageki” is based on Otsuki Kenji’s horror novel “Stacies Shoujo Saisatsu Zendan,” which was turned into the film “Stacy” in 2001. The story involves a strange phenomenon in which teenage girls between the ages of 15 and 17 suddenly die and turn into zombies, known as “Stacies.” As a result, a group is formed whose job is to terminate the Stacies by “re-killing” them.

Besides Tanaka, the cast will include all of the 9th and 10th generation members: Fukumura Mizuki, Ikuta Erina, Sayashi Riho, Suzuki Kanon,Iikubo Haruna, Ishida Ayumi, Sato Masaki, and Kudo Haruka. Due toMichishige Sayumi’s schedule and Mitsui Aika’s recovery from a foot injury, the two will not be appearing in the play.

Other cast members include Kaai Gamon, Yamamoto Shoma, Shiramata Atsushi, Yamaura Toru, and Akahoshi Masanori.

Performances will be held at Space Zero in Tokyo from June 6 to June 12.

TOKIO leader advises Ryo Nishikido not to pull an Akanishi in real life

Weddings were all the talk at a press conference in Tokyo on April 16 for Kanjani8′s Ryo Nishikido’s upcoming drama series “パパドル! (Papadol!)“, reports Sports Hochi.

                       It has been reported Nishikido came out wearing a white tuxedo, and his drama co-star Yuka in a white wedding dress.  The press conference venue was inside the chapel at Tokyo’s Shinagawa Prince Hotel.

“I’ve seen other people’s weddings before, but my first reaction was that [the aisle] is shorter than I had imagined,” Nishikido said.

In the drama, Nishikido plays a fictional version of himself, pop star “Ryo Nishikido”, who falls in love with a single mother with three children and gets married to her.

“I think pop stars deserve some kind of congratulations when they get married.  I’m a coward in real life so I think ‘me’ in this drama is so cool to be able to take that risk,” he said.

When asked whether he was confident he could hide a secret marriage in real life, Nishikido said it was not up to him.

“It depends whether you the press can find out.”

It was difficult not to think of Nishikido’s fellow Johnny’s talent, Jin Akanishi, who had announced his sudden marriage to actress Meisa Kuroki in February, and is now paying the price with a cancelled tour and being dropped by a drama series.

TOKIO leader Shigeru Joshima, who plays a retired pop star, and Naomi Zaizen, who plays Kanjani8′s manager in the drama, both had simple advice for Nishikido.

“Let Johnny-san know,” Joshima said.

“I think you should let your manager know first,” Zaizen said.

Fuji TV makes “Idoling!!!” and other shows available on YouTube

On Tuesday, Fuji TV announced its plans to begin uploading several of its shows to its official channels on video site YouTube, allowing users to watch for free. According to the announcement, the network aims to spread its contents globally and to attract new viewers, while also increasing its online advertising revenue.

            Reports say that Fuji TV plans to upload about 40 videos a day, ranging from news to variety to anime. So far, 6 channels have been announced for distribution: “FNN Fuji News Network,” “Shin Houdou 2001,” “BS Fuji Live Prime News,” “Fuji TV ni Detai Hito TV” (previously announced), “Idoling!!!,” and “Fuji TV Anime.”

The “Fuji TV Anime” channel, which currently includes “Thermae Romae” and “Kuchu Buranko,” is limited to viewers in Japan, but the other channels are available worldwide.

The “Idoling!!!” channel will include original contents in addition to videos from the group’s television show.

AKB48’s ‘Puccho’ mouth to mouth CM criticized by viewers

The Broadcasting Ethics & Program Improvement Organization (BPO) has announced thatAKB48’s CM for UHA Mikakuto’s popular soft candy ‘Puccho‘ received criticism from the viewers.

             The CM started airing on March 15th, and caused quite a stir as the members of AKB48 shares the candy with one another via mouth-to-mouth. Regarding this CM, BPO received negative comments such as

“The children will imitate this,”

“It looks like they’re playing with food,”

“Stop making CMs that lack quality. A mouth-to-mouth relay with food is unsanitary and unpleasant.”

On BPO’s “Opinions Concerning Young People” section of their homepage, 116 cases out of 196 were opinions regarding AKB48’s ‘Puccho’ CM. A majority of these stated the viewer’s unpleasant feelings towards the mouth-to-mouth relay scene.

The CMs are currently available for viewing on the official website for ‘Puccho×AKB48‘.

Visual Kei band Diement. Disbands

Earlier this month Visual Kei Record Label Dear Dolce made public that it will cease operation forcing the bands signed under the label to make some serious decisions regarding their further activities. Some of them disbanded and others changed to a new label but it wasn’t revealed which path Diement. and Eris would go.

   Now that Diement. gave a comment on their further activities there's no good news for their fans. At their live on April 16th the members stated that they will disband on June 5th due to musical differences. They said that this is the only right decision for everyone to carry on and look forward. The band apologizes for any inconvenience and hopes that the fans will understand and accept this decision.

Diement. will release their last album "Wake up!!" on April 24th. It includes 11 songs and costs 3150 Yen.
