I’m begging you, read this theory—if it doesn’t blow your mind like it did mine, it’ll at least make you laugh.

Do you remember the song from the ending of the first season of *SPY x FAMILY*?

It’s Gen Hoshino’s *Comedy*.

I really love this song, and today I decided to rewatch the video.

I’ve always wondered why, in this clip—which references Loid, Yor, and Anya, and their lives—Loid ends up meeting aliens. And I think YOU CAN GUESS WHERE I’M GOING WITH THIS (especially considering the latest manga chapters about Melinda and Desmond).

Notice how, at the beginning of the clip, the singer is dressed as Loid in a green suit. Later, two aliens approach him: one with long ears resembling Yor’s hair, and another with horns like Anya’s...

Then, at the end of the clip, another alien shows up at their house...

Could that be Bond?

If Anya and Bond have been experimented on, and we can assume they’re «aliens» does that mean Yor might have been experimented on too? 😭😭😭

I know it’s a wild theory based on the music video, but my mind is completely blown.

Then again, maybe this is just Endo’s way of hinting that, to us, every other person can feel like an alien—someone we struggle to connect with. Or perhaps it’s simply a nod to how hard it is for a super spy like Loid to truly understand the people around him 😂😂😂

I don’t know, but this theory really struck me as interesting, and I wanted to share it with you all.

For my fan theory that Mr. Matthew McMahon is Twilight's father,

I have a head canon that he will give Twilight his wedding ring so he can propose to Yor properly for real. Since, that's the ring he married his mother with (not the one he proposed with but something he shares with her). Since Twilight loves his mother and even complimented Yor that she's just like his mother.

Spy x Family Ep 1 - Manga to Anime Adaptation Notes

Will try to jot down a few things that stood out in the anime adaptation. Not so much pointing out *all* the places where the two differ, but much more noting where adaptation and directing choices add to the story :)

Most of those choices emphasize Anya is a smol bean, that Twilight actually loves his not-so-fake family and... well, the anime ships Twiyor even harder than the manga does. It's all good.

Episode 1 - Manga chapter 1

Anya is smol bean. Must protecc

One of the small tweaks come early on when Anya first calls Twilight chichi. I mean. Look at her face in the anime vs the manga. It's already bursting with love. He's her papa now.

Chimera!

The anime shows Chimera a lot in the first episode compared to the manga's first chapter. He doesn't really *need* to be in the frame! But he is, and the anime wants you to associate her stuffy with Anya especially since...

... one of the so-small-you-wouldn't-notice-but-is-actually-quite-interesting changes they've made in the manga is to show Chimera dropped in Twilight's room after Anya's been kidnapped. As he's thinking 'there are plenty of other children out there' he's actually bending down to pick up Anya's stuffy - before he even tends to his spy gear! The anime is basically calling him a (very cool) liar - he might *think* he's a cool spy and all, but his soft gooey heart was always going to go save his daughter

Twilight is Dad (He's just a little in denial)

The manga does this a bit differently, showing us how Anya's room is already lovingly decorated. In the anime, instead, we see the spoils of that day's ooting in Anya's room, and her dress neatly on her bed, almost certainly by her papa - a new detail in the adaptation. And so the anime once again calls out Twilight for being a bit dense - even as he *thinks* he's going to send her back to the orphanage, everything else about the scene tells us - yeah no, Twilight, you care for your little chaos gremlin and are a dad now, don't fight it

The Littlest Widdlest Pinkest Chair

Another new detail the anime adaptation added - Anya's little pink chair! Not something that ever appears in the manga. Because of course Twilight, best spy of Westalis Loid Forger, doting dad, would buy his daughter a little chair. I mean, she needs to sit on something to study. And of course it would be a smol one. And of course it would be a pink one. I'm sure he expensed it with the Handler too.

Twilight's the best time of the day to Feel Things

Obviously, it's hard for manga to go 'THE SUN IS SETTING! It's 黄昏!' But the anime? The anime goes all in on this. Every time Twilight has some real emotional epiphany, the sun is setting. Or in other words, Twilight is the truest to himself when it's twilight. We'll this again and again through the anime, even when the time of day is never mentioned in the manga - it's all adaptation and directing choice.

(I can also talk about the wall and the barbed wire in this scene, but that's a whole ted talk...)
