Noah Czenry

I feel like Noah is very glossed over in the fandom but I have an opinion™️

Basically I think Noah is a metaphor for Gansey growing up, basically the first time Gansey dies and Noah used his life for him Gansey goes from a 10? (I can't remember his age lmao) year old who lives with his parents, goes to school does what his parents say ect ect, then after he dies and Noah saves him, he becomes a teenage boy obssesed with Glendower the Welsh King, and travels around the world to learn about him and make friends, but they're to help him find Glendower, then the second time Gansey dies he realises he doesn't need to know or find a dead Welsh king, he doesn't need to do this or anything, he can simply live his life happily with his friends and girlfriend and honesty I think that was important for Gansey to learn bc I think trc is about Gansey growing up and realising his achievements and knowledge has nothing to do with him and he's valid and important either way and it takes the series for him to realise that and i- I could talk about it forever lmao. Basically Noah dying everytime is representive of Gansey growing up

Adam

follows the recipe exactly

makes sure to sift the flour instead of scooping it

the scent of freshly baked goodies is new to him, he pauses for a moment just to inhale and lock it into memory

has been helping persephone bake since she was a toddler

basically a pro

knows how to troubleshoot cookies and figure out what's making them too soft or too cakey

likes to invent new and daring flavors (some work out better than others)

Gansey

CLUELESS in the kitchen but tries his best to be helpful

once he realizes that blue likes to experiment, he starts collecting and giving her interesting bits of info about spices and baked goods he's gathered from his travels

memorizes the Fox Way chocolate chip cookie recipe and starts stress baking in addition to stress henrietta model making

"ronan can you dream us an oven for monmouth that won't catch on fire if we forget to turn it off?"

Ronan

aurora baked a lot before niall died so ronan knows quite a bit, but it brings back too many memories for him to be a regular participant in Fox Way Baking Nights^tm

but he comes around every week or two to drop off fresh milk and eggs from the barns

opal goes all the time though, one day she drags ronan along and he ends up having a great time

still doesn't understand why you have to preheat the oven

"it's going to get hot anyways why can't i just put them in now?!"

Henry

curates the baking playlist <3 (madonna, katy perry, all the pop queens)

ties his hair in a lil unicorn sprout to keep it from falling in his eyes. or better yet, man bun henry?!

supports blue in all her weird ingredient additions

avid cookie dough eater

"richardman, i will not get salmonella. life is short and cookie dough is one of its greatest delights"

bonds with adam over disdain for the imperial system

Noah

kind of just sits and watches until it's time for decorating

uses copious amounts of powdered sugar and sprinkles because glitter

has a good natured competition with henry over "best decorated cookie", they offer up their masterpieces and the rest of the gangsey votes

i forgot from where i get the impression that Fox Way runs a daycare BUT noah would keep the kiddos out of the way and regale them with stories

BEATS. A flap of crows’ wings. The camera rises behind BLUE SARGENT’s head as she stares up at the abandoned church on St. Mark’s Eve.

There are legends I like to believe.

Private school boys running in the courtyard. A raven lands on RONAN LYNCH’s shoulder. We see only his tattooed back and shaved head right before it turns.

GANSEY (V.O.)

The legends that heroes like Llewellyn and Glendower and Arthur aren’t really dead, but are instead sleeping in tombs…

Hands splayed on a forest ground. Suddenly, a trailer park. Beaten-up converse running on the dusty road. The camera wraps around the runner’s legs and lands at the back of their head as they stop for a moment, staring back at a double-wide. The back of ADAM PARRISH’s head.

The SONG grows louder.

GANSEY (V.O.)

Waiting to be woken.

We end in the 300 FOX WAY READING ROOM, in front of GANSEY. It is the scene where he receives his death card reading. We see Gansey’s bowed head, only.

The screen goes BLACK.

- first and only near death experience was when he almost choked on one of lily’s fake eyelashes (long story) - knows all the words to every song from mulan but only when he’s drunk (he wakes up the morning after crying because he wants so badly to sing i’ll make a man out of you but he can’t remember how it goes) - once wrote an entire essay whilst sitting in a tree because he didn’t want to admit he was stuck up there - can’t pronounce g’s on the end of words 

sirius: 

- forgets that it’s not socially acceptable to walk about the house completely naked - genuinely gets jealous when remus sees a cat on the street and pays it more attention than him - literally fishes for compliments 24/7 and doesn’t even try to be subtle about it (”my hair looks nice today doesn’t it? DOESN’T IT? yea that’s what i thought”) - will only pay attention in a class/lecture if someone gives him sweets to eat during it

lily:

- thought aslan was a character from the hobbit and got really angry when she watched the first movie and there was no mention of aslan in it - the most pain she’s ever experienced was when she tried to recreate the lift from dirty dancing with sirius on a drunken night out and ended up throwing herself head first into a wall - gets really defensive when people tell her cardigans are lame because “THEY’RE SO FUCKING PRACTICAL” - genuinely thinks pokemon is called “pokey man” 

remus:

- once sprinted out a party and threw up on the doorstep because a girl told him she was in love with him - unironically loves africa by toto (a night out is not complete unless he’s screamed his way through the entire song and started crying during it) - whenever someone compliments him or tells them they care about him he just looks kind of uncomfortable and disgusted and softly says “ew” - always forces the others to watch trainspotting with him and he pretends it’s because it’s his favourite movie but really he just has a massive crush on ewan mcgregor 

peter:

- doesn’t trust giraffes (”why are they so fucking long?????”) - literally every group chat is just him annoying remus by spelling everything wrong because it’s hilarious to see him getting so worked up about the correct use of “you’re” and “your” - will follow through with literally any dare: for example skateboarding to classes for an entire day even though he’s never ridden a skateboard in his life (safe to say sirius livestreamed a lot of it on instagram) - has a life sized cardboard cutout of harry styles in his closet and still doesn’t know where it came from

just remembered that rant i posted on my twitter some months ago, so i’m putting it here too

i was thinking about this quote

and like, in my opinion, it summarise ronan and gansey’s relationship pretty well (best friends, almost brothers, whatever)

but also... it implies that... they talked about raising a baby/child together. like, the topic came up one day. i’m just imagining ronan, probably drunk of his ass, coming out off his room in the middle of the night to find a totally sleep deprived gansey, both up because of insomnia. ronan, having wonderful ideas as always, even worse when he’s drunk, suddenly saying « bro. bro. you know what ? we should adopt a baby » and gansey, not able to think straight, jumping in the topic like it’s the most normal stuff to talk about with your best friend. « no, ronan, we can’t, we’re too young and not responsible enough for a child and… » noah appearing in the middle of the argument, listening for 2 seconds, and disappearing like he didn’t hear anything-

OR

they talked about it, the four of them, noah, gansey, ronan and adam, either at school, at nino’s or at monmouth like « which duo between us would make the best parents if together ? »

heated argument ensues, gansey screaming at ronan when ronan implied (like the gay mess he is) that he and adam would be great together « I THOUGHT YOU LOVED ME MORE THAN THAT » « I DO !! BUT YOUR OBSESSION WITH GLENDOWER IS NOT GOOD FOR THE BABY » « SO YOU’RE TAKING MY CHILD AWAY FROM ME ? » « IT’S /OUR/ CHILD, RICHARD »

noah trying to calm them down, adam contemplating the choices that led him to that particular moment and cursing himself for making them, but also happy to be here, right now

gansey just thought about it himself. one night, lying in bed, or while adding a bakery or haircut salon to his maquette of Henrietta, his exhausted brain going « hey. what if,,, we had a baby,,, with ronan ?? » and him furiously thinking about it, listing the pros and cons, imagining scenarios…

i don’t know, it’s probably dumb but i can’t stop thinking about it

Adam Parrish

a man amongst men, he had fought his battles early on in life and he still managed to come out as a hero. with a will stronger than most he refused their gifts seeing them as a sign of pity. until he didn’t. when he finally accepted them, he accepted them as signs of love and not them looking down upon him. it took him a long time to realize it but he hadn’t owed anyone anything. the only person he owed something to was himself. he needed to accept love, and he did. this was his family, his true family because they loved him.

enjoy this horrible poetry I haven’t written in a while and felt the need to write something for noah because I just finished reading the raven cycle series and there are no words to explain how much I love him. sorry for not being active I haven’t felt very motivated to write lately but seeing as I feel so much motivation now,maybe I will post more. hopefully it will be better than this though.
