So…i have this theory.

Not so much a theory really as much as random connections I’ve made with Doki Doki and some other items.

So far my head has connected DDLC with a particular name.

Erebus.

When i was perusing on Reddit I found someone mention a book named Erebos, which is a story about a sentient videogame that manipulates computer files. Highly suggest reading the synopsis, but I’ve yet to read the book so I cant say for sure about the story…what I do know is that the cover looks eerily similar to Yuri’s book, Portriat of Markov.

Red cover, single eye. Creepy right? It gets better. So looking for the book, before i added “novel” to the search, the first thing google gave me was

Erebus is Greek Mythology’s essentially first god. God of shadows, darkness, death basically. Which reminds me of

Another god, albeit a roman godess, still revolving around death and the afterlife. Could quite possibly be coincidence. But what has my mine racing and thinking is Erebus itself being a religion based around people returning to the underworld.

Dying.

Returning.

But returning to Hell.

Almost…like…the four girls’ death in Doki Doki. They die. But they always return to a hellish existence. So hellish that Sayori basically commits murder/suicide immediately upon gaining sentience. And wee know there is a religious cult…involved with these girls, and involved with Libitina. Connections are happening everywhere. I’ll come back to this. What I want to draw your attention to now is Erebus…has four Siblings.

Gaia, Tarturus, Eros and Nyx. Im making connections with the girls, just for fun.

Gaia, the creator, basically the unsung hero, the one who keeps earth in balance – Monika.

Eros, god of sexual attraction, mischevious, cunning…a little sad– Sayori

Nyx, Goddess of the night, the ultimate mother with 16 children, of whomst include Sleep, Death, Strife and Pain, all things im associating with her relationship with her father, whos shes happy when hes “too tired for anything” — Natsuki.

And Tarturus. Both a deity and ruler of the realm of the same name, the final judge to be faced. The one who doles out consequences of lifes efforts. Yuri.

Now im questioning if Yuri and Libitina are the same person. My thinking is no.

I think theyre sisters.

I think they switched places.

I think Yuri has a Third Eye and can ressurect the dead. I think she brought the man she killed back to life and plans to do the same for Libitina. And i think the hero Monika is trying to rescue her with the help of the researcher, Natsuki.

Most importantly, I think the Cult of Erebus plans to use her to create an army of resurrected dead.

In conclusion…

Dan Salvatos next project will be a Zombie first person shooter.

So I've really liked the general idea of this design. Kinda got inspired by the Sonic Shuffle final boss, but having a robot/golem-like enemy that uses orbs to hold its limbs seemed cool.
