  Ser la madre de la novia o del novio se vuelve complicado al momento de buscar un vestido para ese día tan importante. Lo que menos hay en las tiendas son vestidos y accesorios para las madres de los novios, esto hace muy complicada la búsqueda y selección del vestido.

Ese día los invitados no sólo van a acompañar a la pareja en la ceremonia de su unión. También van con la intensión de observar como van vestidos todos. La primera en ser observada es la novia, luego la mamá de la novia, después la mamá del novio, para así seguir con el novio y los papás de los novios. De ahí que se vuelva relevante el arreglo personal de las mujeres de ambas familias.

Durante esta ceremonia la etiqueta de la mamá de los novios requiere elegancia y discreción ¿El motivo? Respetar la importancia que tienen los novios durante el evento. Usualmente la mamá o suegra que le roba cámara a la novia siempre es criticada, por este motivo también debemos de cuidar este aspecto.

Al seleccionar un vestido hay varias cosas que ambas madres deben de evitar en cuanto al color. La más importante son los tonos claros. La única que puede vestir en tonos claros es la novia, así que para las mamás queda completamente descartado el blanco, el beige y cualquier color pastel. Los vestidos en algunos tonos metálicos tales como el plateado y el dorado también están descartados ¿Por qué? Nuestro ojo tiene una debilidad por las cosas que brillan. Por lo tanto la gente inevitablemente se enfocaría en vestido de la madre o en la suegra y no en la novia. Lo mismo sucede con los colores muy brillantes, motivo por el cual yo no los recomiendo. Y el negro está completamente prohibido para todos menos para el novio. ¿El motivo? esto no es un sepelio es un festejo.

Los colores que se ven muy bien en las mamás de los novios por ser discretos y elegantes son los azules, grises, cafés metálicos, morados, rojo vino y sus variaciones, verde otoño y rosa en tonos medios o tostados. La telas para el vestido pueden ser satinadas u opacas, yo recomiendo procurar telas brillosas o que tengan bordados con algo de lentejuela o piedras, ya que este tipo de eventos generalmente se organizan por la noche.

Los accesorios son muy importantes. Dependiendo del diseño del vestido pueden complementar con collares, aretes , anillos y pulseras de tamaño mediano, para compensar la sobriedad del color del vestido. Si desean usar accesorios grandes yo recomiendo que sean o los aretes o el collar, pero no ambos.

Ante todo es importante recordar que una boda es un evento que emite un mensaje de amor y romance, el cual involucra la unión de dos personas y el apoyo de dos familias. Por eso cada pieza que sea parte de este evento debe emitir ese mensaje y cada elemento que no lo emita con facilidad puede ser detectado. De ahí que la imagen de las mamás de los novios debe de ser de apoyo, respeto, amor y acompañamiento durante ese día y para siempre.

A forever young girl, with blond hair, perfect skin and curves, that has a huge wardrobe; and her life includes a fit and handsome boyfriend, a huge house, a variety of jobs, pink cars, a house at the beach, permanent makeup and all those things your limitless imagination can create in collaboration with Barbie’s marketing team. Though Mattel recently added new dolls with different and realistic body shapes. The blond perfect Barbie will always be a classic. So, inspired by Barbie and her iconic pink, we did this photoshoot with a brunette hair model. This is our way to say: “Yes Barbie can exist in our way and terms.” Beauty is not defined by the industry, but by us girls. We who have daily struggles and still have some time to put lipstick on and look powerful for life.

This is the real Barbie.

Many people don’t know what an image consultant’s profession is, and in some cases, there are some misunderstandings, because of them people relate us with stylists or fashion consultants.

Image consultancy is the study of perception. In other words, it is the study that analyses the opinion that people have of a particular product, person or institution.

For an opinion to be created we depend on the information that we gather from our senses. Meaning, from what we see, hear, taste, smell and touch. Then our brain quickly analyses all this information, generates an opinion and a reaction. The reaction is the most important for us because this is what we are trying to influence.

To monitor the response of an audience, an image consultant has to follow a methodology. There may be some variations of this method depending on what the client’s objectives.

As an Image Consultant what areas of expertise do we have?

Hair, Clothes and Beauty.

Verbal and Non-Verbal Communication.

Product Marketing Consultant.

Social Media and Web Consultant.

Institutional Image.

Social and Business Protocol.

Interior Design Consultant.

We work with the previous areas from a “perception analysis” point of view.

Personally, I have a particular interest in areas that require a visual analysis such as hair, clothes and beauty, verbal and non-verbal communication, product marketing and graphic design.

How to know if you need an image consultant advise? It depends on your situation. I’ll mention some examples.

If you feel that you spend a lot of money on clothes but never have something to wear. Or you feel that your style doesn’t represent your personality anymore. If had a job promotion, or maybe you just want to know how to dress better and flatter your body. You can contact an image consultant that’s an expert in body and face proportions, like me.

If you have a business and would like to have a good visual impact on your audience, you would need an image consultant that´s an expert in graphic design analysis and interior design perception, like me also. Well, what can I say, I can only give examples of what I know.

You will need to contact a social and business protocol consultant if you require reinforcing table manners and etiquette. Verbal and non-verbal communication is mostly for the ones who constantly have to speak in front of people.

In general terms, the sky is the limit. We all have an opinion about everything, which means that all things are perceived. So everything can be studied from the “Image” point of view. Just remember that an Image Consultant and a Fashion Stylist use clothes with different purposes. The first to communicate and flatter your body, the second to look trendy.

Teddy bears are very sweet, girly and romantic gifts. Mind the size, big teddy bears are adorable, but they might not fit in you crush’s room.

Jewellery has a luxurious message. It is an excellent gift for formal couples or friends.

Sexy underwear has a sexual message and also means that someone is going to have a great night.

Dinner for two, there is no way to say no to dinner. The only rule is not to be cheap. Food is an essential ritual of integration. Dinner is a very social moment and it’s perfect to get to know someone.

Am I the only one sick of the media and Facebook talking about Obama and Trump? There are some things I want to highlight about all of this: the length of Trump´s tie, Melania’s inexistent ability to act in from of the media, Hilary´s guts and character to attend the event and pretend to be…breathing, Michelle´s gesticulation during the whole inauguration and Ivanka´s ability to control the attention of the media.

In that same order, why Trump always leave his tie length to long? Looks like he is trying to point something don´t you think? It´s just… I can´t help it. Please, someone, let him know that the end point of the tie should touch the belt, not his zipper and that his blazer should be buttoned up when not seated. He even used tape to keep it together. He needs an image consultant desperately. Give him my contact details, please.

Melania barely smiled during all the inauguration. We know little about her, meaning we only know where she comes from and part of her career. But honestly seeing her smile is not that normal. She needs to know that as a First Lady she needs to smile even if she doesn´t like to. I mean, hello! Your husband is now president of the USA show us that you are proud and happy, or at least pretend to be, for the sake of the show.

Now Hillary. I won´t say I like her, but come on she got the guts to attend the whole thing and pretend that she is alive. She smiled more than Melania, that´s something. At least she knows how the media works.

It´s the first time that Michelle Obama disappoints me. She has been the First Lady of the USA for a long period, and she is still incapable of pretending a proper body language for the occasion. I know she is not a master in this because she has let us know, previously, with just one face how she feels; and obviously, I don´t want her to be joyful about Trump being the new president but…Hey! Honey, it’s your last day, give a proper farewell at least. But well, can´t blame her.

Final but not least Ivanka Trump. She is more of a First Lady material than Melania, by far. There is no way you can´t stop seeing her. She just calls your attention, and she knows how to play her role. The funny thing here is that we have a First Lady that looks more like a model that fills the space and a daughter that has natural leadership. So it wouldn´t be a surprise to see Ivanka having a more dominant media role while his dad is the President of the USA, instead of Melania.

The Obama´s Era has ended, and with it, the social media curse we were all into. Admit it he was excellent at this, magnificent. But know we have someone that is completely different in all senses, so it is going to be fascinating to analyze, from a political view, how this develops. I don´t think he is going to do half of the things he said. In the midterm lets just watch.

On February of 2016 I collaborated during a photoshoot with a nutritionist. The photos were going to be used as part of her social media in Facebook and they were going to be uploaded as posts, cover photo and profile picture.

She is a nutritionist in favour of a good diet and doing exercise. Actually, she is really fit. Also it was needed for her to look professional but at the same time casual and friendly. So we decided that these elements should be shown in her pictures.

A photoshoot for a Nutritionist On February of 2016 I collaborated during a photoshoot with a nutritionist. The photos were going to be used as part of her social media in Facebook and they were going to be uploaded as posts, cover photo and profile picture.

Now at days reading is not as appealing as it used to, since we are surrounded by information all the time (social media, digital news, advertisements, etc.). That was a conflict when we came to discus the design of a presentation or promotion document for the TV program Fashion Mode On (FMO).

FMO TV program is associated with concepts like: creativity, innovation and fashion, so anything that had its name on it should be perceived as that.

Our solution was to create a visual and brief document, instead of a boring power point presentation full of information.

A digital presentation for a fashion TV program Now at days reading is not as appealing as it used to, since we are surrounded by information all the time (social media, digital news, advertisements, etc.).

During 2015 I had the opportunity to coordinate the image and styling of the TV hosts Miss. Zetina and Mr. Monsiváis from “Fashion Mode On” program back in Monterrey, Mexico. In collaboration with them we defined how they should be perceived regarding the content of the show, the essence of the program and their own personality.

The time came when they needed a photoshoot, so I called my dream team to this project:
