About 2 weeks ago I bought 2 Faber Castell pens and wanted to test them, so I decided to try something with watercolor and the first character that came to mind was our dear Ivonne Eckhart, to be exactly, her as a child. So I present to you: mini Ive!! ♡

Ok, so, in the novel side stories, it is mentioned that Ivonne has a temperament similar to Reynold's, so I tried to pass a similar, a "let's try to copy my big brother" and a "I'm the boss" vibe while drawing it and that's how it turned out ♡

After seeing that shitty frenchamerican movie about mexicans without any mexican cast winning so many awards im glad Brazil winned this! I dont even care about oscar, this is HUGE!!!!

"I'm still here" isnt just a random film. It is about the military dictatorship, which on the contrary of countries like Argentina and Chile, Brazil didnt punished most part of the people that did and colaborated for all the deaths, crimes and opressions, and many families still and probably wont ever know where their family members were "buried/disposed".

And not only historic value and resistance against military coups (which are a constant threat with the rise of extreme right in Brazilian politics and military), this is a win for the lack of support and acknowledgement brazilian cinema has, by our own government and by gringos, that keep on pretending the world is just hollywood and some few european countries

My position is that gringo awards arent the reason we make films. But it does help a lot. It attracts investment, international film companies, something continents like latin america doesnt have compared to japan, korea, china, india and european countries own independent film and shows productions, so much they even have prestigious relevant cinema and tv show awards season.

I thought I was ready not to cry or how chapter 159 had tricked me.

I read the new chapter twice. I watched each frame twice. I even read that chapter of the novel twice today.

And you know what, dear readers? TO HELL WITH ALL OF IT!

Warning! This chapter is mostly about Derrick.

A sweet voice full of hesitation and hope and emotion when Derrick told them to go to Penelope's coming of age together. Tears of happiness and worry about whether they would disturb Penelope... that's all Derrick remembers, not the blue glow of the artifact.

I’ve been continuously crying for 2 days cuz barely anyone will be like him. “what if I get into a bad habit? — Then I’ll need to be worse”. Chapter 102 had me taking in-between breaks, because I was overwhelmed by my admiration of his character. He is always there for his wife, always has been in his own way. + he worked so that even she could see that he was by her side, no matter what. And since she sometimes couldn’t quite trust him, other than his actions, he’d also use his words to communicate with her, to assure her (which many people/characters lack).

I love that Ruby reached out and called out to him in the last chapter, and that he got his will back by her gesture. It convinced him that “not all was lost” and he should keep fighting for her. And he did. And the chapter ended in the most beautiful way possible.

Of course, this is not even the half of why I love his character. But not everything has to be said. So I’ll keep some things to myself so my heart can keep fluttering at his small gestures. (● ˃̶͈̀ロ˂̶͈́)੭ꠥ⁾⁾
