So many things I love about this song and MV; the sound is reminiscent of the AFYCSO harmonies but distinct with the Boom Boom Room vibes. It has the usual cryptic shenanigans and the subtle hint of the band's in-universe lore (I'm not sure if there is one, but I sure hope that this album is going to continue on or at least refer to some of the previous ones' concepts). The dark tones and the lyrics just give me the right amount of hit. As for the video itself, gotta love the quirkiness and absurdly comedic atmosphere, and the cinematography is highly appealing to me. Remington's dance footwork in here is relatively better in my opinion than any of the previous ones (I mean, just look at 2:44 to 2:53). They're not exactly synchronized in the stairs scene, but it just makes me smile on the inside because they look like they're having fun. Lastly, the tuxedo and crowbar aesthetic look so fitting with one another; it's like it's begging to be made into iconic art or smth.

I'm really looking forward to the new album. I know I may be speaking with bias as I have been a fan for years, but everything they make is just. so. good.

On that note, here's to hoping that we'll get all the unreleased tracks from the Boom Boom Room Side B era someday (particularly 14 Hour Technicolor Dream).

i reread the second one also and found more funny bits………. i’m entertaining myself with these, okay, leave me alone

apparently artemis got sent to a boarding school, so butler was supposed to have time off but he just like. wouldn’t go away. and had to be kicked off the grounds. twice.

when holly tries to mind-control butler into helping her kidnap artemis but his dad instincts™ are too strong so he resists to the point where holly is like “what the fuck you’re not supposed to be able to do that”

also while this is happening, artemis is ten feet away trying to forge an email from his mother so he can skip school for a week and go to russia. 

holly has apparently decided that every illegal thing that she hears about is somehow artemis’ fault. every single thing. it is him exactly zero of the times.

when all those goblins (and the main villains) watch artemis flop out of a tube of radioactive slime and start frantically pressing buttons on the wall and they all let him for a little bit bc they’re just like ????? is that a fucking human???

the number of times butler picks up artemis and flings him directly into a snowdrift. i think the number is two. but it is a funny number.

“if alive, please help. if not, wrong number.”

artemis is being held hostage and while everyone else is screaming, his phone rings and he just goes “………………. !! o shit sorry, that’s mine”

also butler saw artemis being held hostage and got so mad he ran directly through a door that Was reinforced but was not, and i quote, “butler-proof”

also i drew this so everyone has to look at it. this is basically the first two books.

I miss being in love with words and beautiful prose. I miss typing out stories so enchanting they twist from ink to life, painting entire worlds with each stroke of the pen. I miss the thrill of the written word, the shiver of excitement that accompanied a newfound plot point.

But I fear that adoration has been eclipsed by a thirst for adulation—an ache for worldly acclaim that devours me whole, leaving behind the rotten carcass of a linguistic soul. A soul long buried and burned, laid to rest in the forgotten purgatory of withered pages and blotted ink.

For what good are words if they are never read? What good are stories if they are never told? What good is an author if they are never known?

A REVELATION!

Blue & Red in Doctor Who: part 1 [part 2 here]

So I noticed that 15's Sonic was red in Rogue, and that sent me fully down the rabbit hole. So this is part 1 of some rambly connections.

In S1 (2005) the time vortex was blue for journeys into the past and red for journeys to the future.

In S2, 10 usually wears a brown tie with a white/light shirt in the present/future, and a blue shirt with no tie in the past.

In S4, 10 usually wears his blue suit in the future and keeps the brown for past adventures.

In S5/6, 11 wears a blue bowtie, braces, & shirt details when they're in the past, which are all red when they're in the future.

In S11/12, 13's tshirt is usually red/burgundy in the past and blue in the future.

If I had a nickel for every book about a smart 12-year-old using Santa Claus technology, with tech-elf side characters, mentally ill mother figures, dead dads, themes of loss, and magic ex machina taking place at Christmas time and written by Eoin Colfer, I'd have two nickels.

And somehow the books are foils of each other. Artemis would 100% be Juniper's nemesis if they lived in the same universe. Love that, love them.
