I don’t think that the writers knew either, where it was going to go, but I think, like, working together so closely we really got to know each other. And Robia Rashid, the creator, always say that she sort of is Casey, herself, so she and I have been able to build that character very slowly together.

I have spent far too much time thinking about this - assuming he loses the bowl cut, he’d need a look that could be achieved with Noah’s natural hair.

I checked out the the boys in Stand By Me and other movies of the time but nothing really seems to fit. Then I google ‘1985 boys haircut’ and this comes up:
