Have some rough sketches
Just to add some content to my little corner of Tumblr, here’s some sketches for some hybrid designs. Lol my sketches are gross, but they get better when rendered I swear lol. And who’s that? Is that Wilford and Edward??

Alright gang, I’ve got a treat for you!
Here’s what I imagine Hybrid Mark looks like! Sometimes I imagine him different, but I always come back to this look! Also, it’s a little hard to tell but he’s twiddling his thumbs not doing the meme pose.
Here’s some extra headcannons:
He’s very fluffy and requires lot’s of brushing to maintain his fur
He has retractable claws on his paws
He likes to wear whatever fits into the above catagories, though he usually doesn’t get to wear what he wants to
When with an abusive owner, he wears grey and black usually
The claws on his hands are not retractable, but can be trimmed to normal human lenghts, though this can cause irritation if trimmed even slightly too short
He can be with or without facial hair

Mistreated
A rough story outline / basic idea
Part 1 - Part 2
The supervisor gets everything paperwork wise for Dark ready as well as his clothes and other needs. Mark just has to get Dark a place to stay and introduce him to the others.
By the time he gets back to the nurse’s office, Dark is still asleep and the nurse says he probably will be until the next day. Mark gently picks him up and takes him to the room he’d have to himself. Some clothes are already waiting there as well as some other grooming items. Mark puts everything away and tucks Dark into bed before returning to his post.
He comes back later at night when his shift is over. Dark is still asleep, looking like he hasn’t moved from where Mark had put him. Mark lifts his shirt to check the bandages, finding them still white before he notices how tangled Dark’s tail is. Dark is an extremely fluffy hybrid yet his fur looked like it hadn’t been brushed since he’d been here. Mark decides to try and brush it out since it can’t be comfortable being that tangled. Fortunately his leg fur seems well groomed. As Mark works, wincing each time he hits a big knot, Dark begins to wake up. At first he’s confused by the comfy bed he’s lying on but yips in pain when a knot is snatched. Dark sits up too quickly, wincing at the pain running up his back that forces him to quickly lie down again.
Mark quickly reassures Dark that he’s okay and Mark is just brushing his tail. Mark asks to check Dark’s bandages since the fast movement could have opened one of the scratches again. Dark starts to realize that he’s not in his room with the other demons. He whimpers when Mark lifts his shirt, nervous about being vulnerable. Mark coos at him to help him feel a little safer, surprising Dark. Mark explains that while Dark gets better he will be staying with the normal hybrids. He isn’t surprised by the lack of response from Dark but he can still feel how tense his small body is. Mark asks to continue brushing Dark’s tail, promising to be as gentle as possible. Dark meekly agrees though he wouldn’t have said no either way. Mark is gentle enough that Dark starts to fall asleep again, snuggling into the comfy bed.
When he wakes up Mark is there again, offering him a tray of food. He helps Dark sit up since moving is surprisingly painful. Dark is a little nervous to eat in front of Mark since he doesn’t know him very well but Mark helps by chatting while Dark eats, talking about some of the rules and Dark’s new schedule. Mark even asks some questions about Dark, who shyly responds. After he eats, Mark has him take his medicine before checking his bandages and then having him follow him to the playroom.
Since Mark has been so gentle with him, Dark unknowingly clings to him as they walk through the new hallways. He’s nervous and overwhelmed but happy he doesn’t have to be around the other demons for a little while. Dark hides behind Mark when they walk into the playroom that is already filled with the other hybrids running around. When he sees all the different toys and equipment, Dark feels a childish excitement he hasn’t felt very often. He chirps curiously, surprising Mark before he smiles and encourages Dark to go explore.
Dark is welcomed easily as the other hybrids don’t really care that Dark is a demon. They show Dark some of their games and are eager to play with the newcomer. Dark is tired out quickly from the medicine, sleep deprivation, and building pain. He doesn’t want to tell anyone that his back is slowly starting to burn from all his movements with the cuts.
Eventually the pain gets too much for Dark and he lays down against a wall, hoping the cool area will help with the pain. Pressing anything to the cuts hurts though so Dark curls up and hides his face as he starts to cry from how uncomfortable he is. He’s hopeful no one will notice since the demons who like to tell on him for crying weren’t here. The hybrids are worried about him though and one goes to get Mark.

Favoritism
A rough story / This one’s a little old
Part 1
Mark and Jack are Felix’s hybrids, but Felix has a tendancy to overlook Mark’s trauma in favor of Jack.
" . . . Felix? Can I . . . Can I have a cookie too?" Mark asked shyly as he watched his owner putting groceries away.  The hybrid stared at his fidgeting fingers as he waited on Felix's reply.
"Hmm? A cookie? Yeah sure, there's some in the cabinet over there," he pointed to the tall pantry next to the wall.
Beaming Mark quickly thanked him and scurried over to grab the treat. There were a couple different kinds, but Mark knew which one he wanted. Felix has just recently started buying a type of sugar cookie Mark had only seen in stores. They looked and smelled so good with their thick layer of colored frosting and perfectly shaped cookie. A box of the cookies with pink frosting and red sprinkles sat unopened in the cabinet. Mark grabbed the box and ran a claw through the sticker keeping it closed. He grabbed one and returned the box before making his way to the living room where Jack was.
A cartoon was on the tv, one Mark wasn't familiar with. He munched on his cookie, eyes brightening as it tasted just as good as it looked, and settled down next to Jack who was still eating his cookie. They watched in silence until Jack happened to glance at Mark and the treat he was eating.
"Oh! Felix let you have one of his cookies? What did you do to get him to let you have it?"
Mark startled and as he processed Jack's words, he tried to push down the anxiety that was building in his stomach, "I - I just asked if I could have a cookie. He didn't say anywhere was off limits." Mark didn't know Felix had a cookie preference even though he'd lived here longer than Jack.
"Hm, maybe he doesn't really care anymore," Jack thought aloud. He noticed the queasy look on Mark's face and was quick to comfort him, "It's just one cookie! I'm sure he won't mind. Forget I said anything, let's keep watching the show."
Still feeling unsettled, Mark quickly ate the rest of his treat, hardly tasting it in an effort to not be caught with something that could get him in trouble. After a few minutes of no one yelling his name, Mark relaxed and he and Jack snuggled into a blanket.
He'd nearly forgotten about the whole thing as the show ended and Jack suggested they play. Eager, Mark happily followed Jack upstairs to his room. Jack had more toys to play with and rarely let Mark come in. Something about respecting Jack's boundaries because his old home didn't. As usual Mark and Jack played with stuffed animals and built sets from Legos. They were having fun until Mark crawled under Jack's bed to grab a stray Lego and strayed too close to some of Jack's most important things, memories from his first family. Jack yelled at Mark to leave, suddenly feeling too exposed with someone else in his space. In his rush to get out from under the bed, Mark scratched his back against the metal bed frame. He didn't have time to inspect it as Jack chased him out of his room and slammed the door in his face.
Mark's eyes burned as he stared at the closed door for a moment before hurrying to his room. Felix had told him not to take it personally when Jack got too crowded, but Mark hated the familiar sting of rejection. It was a harsh reminder how hard he had to work, how much of himself he had to hide, for anyone to like him. One mistake could be the end of a relationship or even a home.
In his room, Mark finally allowed a small sob to escape him. He went to his bathroom, wiping his eyes on his sleeves as he went. He wanted to check the scratch that stung on his back and distract himself from how bad he felt. All of his insecurities were so neatly packaged in him until one small thing brought them all to the surface. It was so hard to hide it from Felix and Jack. He just knew if they found out about how much he cried over stupid things Felix would send him back to the shelter.
The mirror revealed a long scratch down his spine where in a few spots, blood beaded to the surface. The initial pain was gone, leaving an ache that Mark could ignore.
Mark sniffled and pulled his shirt back down, avoiding looking at his face in his reflection. He blew his nose and forced himself to stop crying though the occasional hiccup or sniffle would escape. What should he do now? He didn't want to face anyone after crying, embarrassed and upset still. A yawn cut off any other idea he would've had. A nap sounded good right about then. Mark crawled into his bed, burrowing under the covers and rubbing his legs together to get warm quickly. The sun still shone through his window, but under the blanket it was a cozy glow that made Mark smile tiredly. He fell asleep soon after despite the heavy feeling resting in the pit of his stomach.
"Mark. It's time to wake up buddy," a voice whispered in Mark's ear and something warm rested on his shoulder.
His ear twitched in response. Blinking slowly, Mark turned over on his back to see who was there. He was greeted by Felix smiling at him and the warmth on his shoulder moving to his hair to smooth down the out of place strands.
"Rise and shine. It's dinnertime. Come on downstairs before the food gets cold," Felix said softly as he gave Mark's ears a few more rubs.
"'M kay," Mark murmured tiredly, sitting up and noting how the formerly bright sunlight was now an orangey hue as the sun began to set. He stared out of the window before Felix suddenly grabbed him under his arms and pulled him out of bed. Felix snickered as Mark squawked in surprise. As Mark regained his balance though, he smiled too and straightened his legs to catch him on the floor. Felix let him go as he got his footing, moving a hand to his back to guide him to the door, thankfully missing the stinging scratch on his spine.
The smell of warm food wafted in Mark's nose and he felt his mouth water. The dinner table was already set with food on three plates. Jack was already sitting there, fiddling with the edge of a napkin. He brightened as he saw Mark and Felix come downstairs.
"Yay! We can eat now right?" Jack asked excitedly, tail swishing like he was an Inu.
Felix laughed again as he and Mark took their seats, "Yes Jack. Go ahead."
Mark listened to Jack and Felix talk all through dinner, yawning while he ate. He was so tempted to lay his head down and go back to sleep, but Felix had already made a rule about sleeping at the table. As in, they shouldn't. The heavy feeling in his stomach was gone now and with it so was the urge to cry. Feeling light had Mark smiling softly all through the meal.
"Alright you two, listen up," Felix said suddenly as they were all finishing, "Tomorrow I've got to go on a trip to a friend's house. He needs some help with filming for a video. I'll be gone for a couple of days so Jack I'll be taking you to Bob's house to stay and Mark, you'll be here with a house sitter."
Jack quirked his head confused, "Why are we being split up?"
"Bob couldn't take both of you and the house sitter didn't think she could handle two hybrids, so I had to do it this way. I'm sure you'll have fun at Bob's house though if that's what you're worried about Jack!" Felix laughed as he ruffled Jack's hair. Jack let out an indigent noise as he swatted Felix's hand with a snort.
"Do I know the house sitter?" Mark asked quietly.
"No, she's new. Mary and Wade were both too busy to stay here. I did make sure she was qualified to take care of hybrids though. I'm sure you won't even notice she's there."
Mark purred as Felix ran his fingers through his hair. Alright, if Felix was so confident, Mark was sure there was nothing to worry about. How bad could a new sitter be?

Left Out of Bonding
Rough Idea
Background: After getting more comfortable around the Egos, Mark tries to make friends at daycare.
Hybirds at the daycare will groom each other's tails. Mark builds up enough confidence after Wilford brushed his tail to bring his brush and ask to join, but an oddly mean pair of hybrids mock Mark for thinking anyone there likes him enough to let him join in the bonding activity. Crushed and embarrassed, Mark flees to a quiet spot to cry. He berates himself for ever thinking anyone wanted him around. He convinces himself the other hybrids are just very polite for putting up with him. While the thought should comfort Mark, it only makes him cry harder. He just wants people to like him. Once Mark recovers from crying another hybrid approaches him and offers for him to join their circle. She mentions that the pair from earlier were being rude. Shy about exposing himself again, Mark agrees but is very hesitant as he is handed someone's brush and someone grabs his. Mark does relax eventually and feels very comfortable being in the circle. When Bim picks him up from daycare Mark tells him about this development.

Hybrid Mark Info
As an Ego . . .
He’s a fan made Ego, created by many fans of Mark having similar ideas for a new Markiplier Ego and when Mark acknowledged the idea, Hybrid Mark was created.
Sometimes the Egos don’t know how to handle him and sometimes I headcannon Bim, Dr. Iplier, and Wilford have the instinct to take care of him.
Mark really looks up to Silver Shephard and thinks he’s super cool.
He’s most comfortable going to Dr. Iplier with problems.
Wilford, Dark, Host, and Google intimidate Mark very much. He always goes quiet and tries not to be noticed when they are around.
Mark goes to daycare most of the time when he lives with the Egos.
Daycare for Mark is different than Dark’s headcannons, since it is a smaller organization. It’s a lot more casual and it is where Mark usually goes to during the weekdays.
Mark is still very shy at daycare.
When not an Ego . . .
Usually owned by another Youtuber.
My go to is a combination of Felix, Jack, and Mark in the same household. Sometimes Felix or Jack is a fellow hybrid. Sometimes they are just roommates who co own Mark.
Usually don’t know what they are doing when they are co owning Mark.
Accidentally show favortism to the other hybrid when Mark has a fellow hybrid to live with.
Jack is the owner more likely to be nurturing and emotionally there.
Felix can be distant and neglectful of a hybrids emotional needs.
When paired with Dark as a fellow hybrid, it is the one time Mark is more likely to be favored.
General Headcannons
Mark is very timid around new people.
Automatically assumes people won’t like him.
Has a hard time making friends with new hybrids and new owners / caretakers.
His quiet timid nature makes people hesitate to approach him.
Unfortunately, when around other hybrids or even by himself, Mark is more likely to be forgotten. This means where an owner or handler would think to buy random toys or gifts or snacks for their hybrid, they would be much less likely to for Mark.
This is usually not done consiously.
Mark would never complain about it, but he does get very defensive over the few toys or things he has.
Prone to not sharing, which can lead to him getting in trouble.
Assumes if he asks for anything his owner or caretaker will think he’s annoying and needy.

Zoo Captivity
Short Story? Drabble? Not proof read in the slightest.
Background: Dark is owned by a traveling zoo.
Part 1
A cough escaped Dark as he curled tighter against the back wall of his cage. His only blanket was too thin to adequately keep him warm, leaving him trembling in a small ball. It didn’t help that he was half shadow demon, meaning he got cold easily. His ears flicked forward as he heard footsteps coming towards him. Dread pooled in his stomach. People didn’t usually approach him with kind intentions. Even though he was pressed close to the wall, he shuffled back more in an effort to hide in the shadows.
That was the only warning he got as a group of three well dressed people stopped in front of him. With his cage raised high off the ground he was nearly at eye level with the two adults while the child stood on tip toes to see him. They peered at him quietly for a moment, long enough for Dark to wonder if they would be nice and not jeer at him. As soon as their eyes met, the child screeched and clung to the leg of what Dark assumed was the father. He flinched at the sound, ears flattening as a bad feeling pooled in his gut. His owner loved any reason to punish him.
The father soothed the child, picking her up and letting her get a clear look at him. Dark didn’t think he looked very threatening in his ragged shirt and shorts with almost every inch of exposed skin covered with bruises. It didn’t matter what he thought though. His ears flattened as he hid his face in his blanket as the parents began talking about how much of a menace his kind was. His eyes watered as they suggested several ways to deal with him. He’d heard it before but it didn’t make the words easier to deal with.
“Come now! We can’t see it if it hides like that. What’s the point of a display you can’t see?” The woman turned around gesturing for someone to come over, “Ringmaster, come handle this.”
Dark nearly sobbed but managed to bite his lip. The ringmaster was his owner and there was no telling what punishment he’d give Dark. He hadn’t done anything! Why was he in trouble? He was already sore all over from the bruises painted on his skin. Curling up like he was made them throb and Dark didn’t think he could handle layers of them.
A man dressed in a fancy red coat sauntered over, a gleam in his eyes appearing when he saw who was upsetting his customers. “What seems to be the problem? Is he giving you any trouble?”
“We paid good money to see these beasts but it's too dark in this cage and it's hiding its face.”
Dark peeked out of the blanket as they talked, eyes widening fearfully as he could see the excitement building in his owner’s expression. Any hope of being left alone was thrown out the window at that face.
“There are plenty of other creatures to see. Maybe take a look at them while I get this one sorted out. Don’t worry, it shouldn’t take too long.” The man’s grin made Dark feel sick.
She didn’t look happy but they did wander away. Dark swallowed thickly as they were left alone. The ringmaster watched them go before suddenly turning to Dark and pulling out a key. A whimper escaped him as a hand reached in and grabbed him by the back of his hair, pulling him forward.

Don’t Care
In a shelter the hybrids are deciding something with a discussion. Dark pipes up with his opinion for a second until a handler rudely interrupts him and states bluntly that what Dark thinks doesn’t matter. That shuts him up quickly and he blushes as everyone starts staring at him. His eyes are watering by the time everyone looks back to the handlers. He sits quietly and fiddles with his hands in an attempt to not cry. When they are dismissed to play again Dark plays by himself while tears silently drip down his face.

Mistreated
A rough story outline / basic idea
Part 1 - Part 2
When a shelter doesn’t know how to handle demon hybrids Dark is the one who suffers. Thankfully, though Mark doesn’t really trust demons he doesn’t like see any hybrid improperly cared for.
Dark is one of only a few demons at a shelter. Most caretakers who work with him are not very good at their jobs and tend to mistreat Dark, whether on accident or on purpose. Dark is used to having to be around the other demons most of the time. He hates it though since they are much more aggressive than him and are always trying to get Dark to get in a fight with them. Most of the time, Dark is tired from always being on guard. He can hardly find time to nap and at night when they all room together the others will often scratch and bite at Dark.
One day the demons are taken on a rare trip outside. With all the space, Dark can successfully get away from everyone and finally catch up on some sleep. Dark settles down under a tree, curling up and tucking his face under his tail. He doesn’t like wasting a trip outside but he’s just so tired. He’s asleep within seconds. Mark, a handler for the normal hybrids, notices Dark sleeping and goes to check on him. He knows all the hybrids love being outside and wouldn’t waste the opportunity with a nap. He shakes Dark’s shoulder and jumps back when Dark launches up, tail fluffed as he whimpers, fearing someone was about to hurt him.
When he sees it’s just a handler, he calms down and smooths his fur down, apologizing for his reaction. After recovering from the scare, Mark notices that Dark is covered in cuts and bite marks and bruises. He frowns in worry, knowing the demons can be rough with each other. He asks if Dark is alright to which Dark says he's fine and just wanted to sleep. He yawns tiredly and rubs his eyes, struggling to stay awake.
Mark decides to leave Dark alone since he seems fine and starts walking back to his post. He quickly whirls around when he hears Dark yelp in pain. Another demon had snuck up on Dark and jumped on him, pinning him down and scratching him deeply across his back. Mark quickly runs back over and shoos the demon away. Shakily Dark sits up, cringing as the claw marks on his back sting and throb with his movements. Mark is just about to take Dark to the nurse when one of the demon handlers comes over and berates Dark for fighting. Mark is shocked at the things the handler yells at Dark, especially when Dark is clearly on the verge of tears and was attacked. When the other handler stomps at Dark, making him flinch away, Mark steps in and says he’ll handle Dark from here.
The handler grumbles and walks away, leaving Mark with a sniffling, bleeding demon. Mark gently coaxes Dark into letting him pick him up and carry him inside. Dark tries to stop crying and apologizes for being in a fight. Mark swiftly comforts him, saying it’s not Dark’s fault he got jumped. As Mark is walking, he notices Dark going limp and realizes Dark fell asleep. Mark wonders about how Dark is being cared for with the demon handlers since he doesn’t seem very well cared for. He’s so tired and hurt and the handlers seem very unsympathetic. Mark can’t help but feel bad for Dark even though he’d never really trusted demons before.
He cradles Dark and gently pets his hair so he’ll hopefully have a deeper sleep. By the time he gets to the nurse, the blood has soaked through Dark’s shirt and has started seeping into his shorts. Thankfully the nurse is nice to Dark and injects something into Dark so he’ll keep sleeping and won’t feel her cleaning the scratches. Mark gets his first good look at them here and winces at how deep and long they are. The other demon had scratched Dark as hard as he could. None of them need stitches but Dark will have to wear a bandage and move carefully to keep them from bleeding. Surprisingly, the nurse turns to Mark and tells him he will take forever to heal if he stays with the demons and suggests that Dark move with the normal hybrids until he’s better.
Mark had been hoping the Dark would heal fine but he can’t help but agree that the demons would just keep hurting Dark if he went back. Mark gets Dark a change of clothes that match with the normal hybrids and carefully dress him. The nurse tells him Dark should come by to get pain medicine if the cuts hurt too bad and in the morning he would need anti-inflammatory medicine.
Mark leaves Dark to sleep in the nurse’s office and goes to tell his supervisor that he’d like Dark to recover with them. The supervisor knows which hybrid Mark is talking about and has heard multiple rumors about Dark being very docile. He allows Dark to stay indefinitely but Mark should keep a close eye on him just in case and is in charge if Dark does anything bad. Mark is a little nervous about that but when he imagines Dark having to go back to the demon handlers he feels sick.

In a shelter for hybrids
Dark is treated more cautiously or more neglectful than the other hybrids because he’s half demon
Sometimes Mark is a handler who works there, sometimes he’s a person wanting to adopt a hybrid
Subcategory: Mark takes Dark home and takes care of him
Sometimes Mark has another hybrid that is also an Ego
Mark struggles with understanding Dark as well as getting over his own nerves around
Mark reteaches Dark how to be a hybrid
Other hybrids are sometimes accepting of Dark and sometimes afraid of him
Dark is grouped with the other demon hybrids or heavily monitored with the normal hybrids
Living with an abusive owner
Owner is usually unamed
Usually taken to a shelter or directly rescued by Mark or rarely Jack or the other Egos
Subcategory: Rescued by Mark
Sometimes Mark has another hybrid that is also an Ego
Mark struggles with understanding Dark as well as getting over his own nerves around
Mark reteaches Dark how to be a hybrid

Hybrid Dark Info
I just wanted to describe the way I imagine Dark as a hybrid. I’ll draw him later maybe.
General
His breed is a half shadow demon half cat hybrid. Normally demons are very destructive and dangerous but when crossbred with hybrids can create several ranges of temperments
Usually Dark has the temperment of a normal hybrid, the only difference is his longer fangs and black sclera with red eyes
Sometimes I make it so he’s more sensitive to light, as in the bright lights hurt his eyes and gives him headaches
Around 23-24 years old
Can fluctuate but he’s always an adult
Physical
Has the lower legs of a cat, non retractable claws on his hands, fangs, and cat ears. His eyes have the cat slit in them
Usually around 4′5″
I’ve been known to make him shorter though
Fur is very long and slightly different shades of dark brown. The difference best seen in sunshine or bright lighting
Normally wears solid color t-shirts with black shorts
Can run on all fours and can run faster like that
His legs are a bit shorter and torso a bit longer to appear less like a person bear crawling
Hair is a little lighter than his fur and longer than cannon version.
It’s not shaved on the sides (better viewed in to be drawn ref)
Mental
Very childish and sensitive from years of abuse
Short tempered around other demon hybrids and more likely to defend himself but not a lot
Easily startled
Major pushover
Blames his unfair treatment on his breed, personality, and/or appearance

Just Some Info!
This is just me posting content about the Egos if they were animal hybrids. Think of a ‘neko’ situation but they have more animal features than just ears and tails.
Right now I’m mostly fixated on Dark and Mark. I’ll just be posting a bunch of the ideas I have for them that I’m too lazy to write or some of the rough drafts I wrote. This is a very niche concept I feel, so I wanted to try and fill this void haha.
Anyway, the Dark I write is very very OOC. He’s my nervous baby boi and he’s who I write the most. I just wanted to warn anyone who didn’t like seeing Dark as a really nervous crybaby character.
Also, this is a no NSFW zone. I don’t write anything sexual about these hybrids, because
I like hybrids without the mature rating and I feel like there’s not enough content about that
I write them very similar to children and that’s kinda weird to sexualize them
Well, I just wanted to say ‘hi’ and give some information about what’s going on here. Please keep in mind these are all rough drafts and nothing here is polished and I’m a pretty mediocre writer.
Thanks for stopping by!
