me throughout act 1 of spiderman 2: i need the angst injected into my veins rn rn. i hope peter and miles absolutely go THROUGH IT.

i really really want peter parker to fucking SNAP in marvels spiderman 2. like, i know its guaranteed to happen bc, yknow, black suit, but i just want an acknowledgement of all that shit he went thru in the first game. Peter lost a LOT. 3 people he cared for turned on him. One of which KNOWINGLY CAUSED his aunts death. And we never see Peter really DEAL with any of this. In the dlc and miles morales hes just, happy normal peter. swinging like his world didnt crash down on him in a matter of days. We never see Peters grief for May, and we never see him grieve for these relationships except for the iconic post final boss scene. I would EAT IT UP if when the back suit comes into play, all these events start weighing more heavily on him. let a vengeful spiderman say "it meant everything to you, but it meant SO much more to me. you will feel the consequences."

and THATS when it hits Miles that Peter isnt all the way there anymore.

hey so you know all the symbolism about miles wearing a spider-man costume for most of itsv because he didn't feel like he was living up to what spider-man was supposed to be. you know how his real suit is so important because it represents his confidence in himself. hey did you know that after miguel tells him he's an anomaly and a mistake, miles' suit glitches back into that spider-man costume.

one thing thats kinda been rotting at my brain about across the spiderverse, is actually the inclusion of the peter from the insomniac playstation games. because, if HE'S there, then, certainly insomniac's MILES is there. and its so heartwrenching to have the idea of that miles watching 1610 miles having to go through the exact same fucking thing that he went through. a grief that he is still is coming to terms with. and that miles is being told that he has to let his dad die. like, thats fucked up right??? insomniac miles would have had no possible way to prevent his dad's death, but if he had the opportunity to, i feel like he would have taken it too.

not to mention, he could probably see that 1610 miles is completely fucking alone. Insomniac miles has ALWAYS had his peter. and yeah, peter b parker taught him the basics, but for the most part he's been by himself! and everyone who can help turns on him. i cant imagine how much that must hurt to see, and how BAD he would feel to sit back and watch. and he's always been taught to care for the people in his community, his home, and leave no one behind. I cant imagine he would sit idly while he can prevent someone just like him going through what he did.

Meanwhile, insomniac peter probably feels bad, but he has been forced to made the choice before. He has chosen the life of many over the life of one. It was painful, but he did. He probably thinks its HORRIBLE for another miles, just like his kiddo, to go through that. But, UNTIL there is reason to believe otherwise, he probably would still side with miguel. Yes, he's tired of the dying. but it would be worse if the whole multiverse was destroyed and i dont think insomniac peter would be one to take that risk.

And, I think both ideas creates some interesting ideas, parallels, and implications on left to the side in spiderverse. Insomniac peter siding with miguel and his miles siding with miles. A mentor forced to fight his student.

finished the story! if i didnt get stuck fighting the final boss for an hour and get frustrated i woulda had so much fun. still a very good game tho! i gotta do the post game scavenger hunt, 100% the save, then do new game plus+ and then ill have 100%'d both spidermans just in time for spiderman 2 :o)
