Bunny Mobile
This idea came about when my discord group talked about Mari vandalizing something, anything. The first thing that came to my mind was the Bat mobile. Enjoy
Bruce was panicking. He was watching his friend’s, Sabine, daughter. He studied under her father in martial arts when he was in Asia. She and her husband were in Gotham competing in an international baking competition. He agreed to watch over their little girl, Marinette Dupain-Cheng, a lovely and creative child with bright blue eyes, dark hair pulled into pigtails. She was a polite child, cheerful, creative, determined, a bit clumsy. Not knowing how to interact with such an upbeat child, Bruce locked himself in his office. It had been about an hour later when Alfred knocked on his door.
“Master Bruce are you and Miss Marinette ready for lunch?”
“I am ready Alfred but I don’t know about Marinette. I haven’t seen her for a while.”
“I beg your pardon Master Bruce, but I believed she has been in here with you. I have not seen her either.” This worried Bruce. Not knowing where Marinette was is not good. Sabine is the only person he has never been able to beat. Letting her know that he lost her daughter made him gulp.
Springing up from his desk he searches the house. He was about to start searching the second floor when the front door opened. His sons walked in, teasing each other over something.
“Boys, I am looking after a friends’ daughter today and she can not be found. I don’t want her to find out about our… Nightly activities, so I need you to look for her.” Bruce commanded his sons.
“Why should we look for some petty girl who is most likely snooping through our things trying to use us for her own gain?” Damian sassed. The smirk that lit up Bruce’s face terrified the boys.
“Are you saying you can’t do it?” Hook, line, and sinker.
“I can do it, and I can do it better than anyone else.” Tim, Dick, and Jason were trying their best to hold in their laughter.
The family looked and looked for the bluenette, but found no trace of her. As the hours go by the family start panicking more and more. Finally, Bruce called a family meeting in the Batcave. Only to walk into the cave and hear a tinkling of sweet laughter. Looking over the railing they find Marinette standing next to the bat mobile, holding a paint brush. Titus and the Bat cow standing at her sides. All three of them staring at the PINK bat mobile.
“Oh no.” Bruce moaned
“OH, MOTHER TRUCKING YES!” Jason chocked out. The boys were laughing so hard they couldn’t breathe. They watched Marinette climb on top of bat cow and placed FREAKING BUNNY EARS on the top of the bat mobile. Bruce slide to his knees in despair. The final piece that broke the bat family was when Titus brought around a fluffy pink bunny tail to the back of the bat mobile and watching the tiny French- Asian girl glue it into the big hole in the back.
“I find that this child is adequate. Are we keeping her father?”
Bruce didn’t know where he went wrong.

I'll Change My Crown, from Light to Dark
The akuma landed on Marinette's windowsill, the girl not even noticing as she sat in the tattered remnants of her designs. Luckily she had dropped off most of her completed works the day before to be delivered to the appropriate patrons, though everything she had yet to send off was ripped, cut, burned, there wasn't a scrap of cloth that was usable for anything but as a guide for buying more. Her sketchbook was in shreds on the floor, paper scattered like confetti over the remaining slivers of all her hard work.
The akuma danced in place. It's master was urging it to go forward, to possess the girl, but… there were so many objects to choose from! Should it just possess the entire room? The sewing machine? One little scrap of fabric? A piece of paper? What about her emotions? This butterfly had made some of the strongest akumas to date, though the strength behind her feelings was astromically larger than any other person they had targeted. The little insect itself was slightly afraid to act as a bridge for her. It finally flew forward, choosing the scraps of the dress the girl had been making herself for the Wayne gala.
Marinette froze when her emotions intensified, hearing Hawkmoth cooing in her ear. "Greetings, Mistress Hawthorne. They all accuse you of being the bully, of being a liar, never paying attention to the proof you give them. They destroyed your designs, your livelihood, and expect to get away scott free.  I'm giving you the ability to turn all your ruined dreams into hawthorn bushes that force people to see the truth, whether they can accept it or not. No more hiding behind lies or masks, everyone will have to be honest and pay for their crimes. All I ask in return is for Ladybug and Chat Noir's Miraculous."
"I refuse, Hawkmoth "
The villain froze for a second. Only one other person had ever resisted him so easily, and that was due to her love for Ladybug. Nothing about Marinette Dupain-Cheng screamed that she truly cared for the heroes, so why would she resist? He was giving her the perfect way to get revenge! If he didn't fear that it would give the heroes a clue to his identity, he wouldn't have even asked for the Miraculous for this offence! "Why do you refuse? Imagine how great it will feel, trapping them in their castle with your thorns until the truth comes out!"
"Oh, make no mistake, revenge will be divine. But I'm already looking at little to no sleep for the foreseeable future so that I can press charges against them, email all my patrons whose clothes were destroyed about the delay, buy all the fabric to remake their outfits, and get my own dress together for the Wayne gala. Luckily I'm not starting completely over with it, their mindless destruction gave me an idea for my dress, but there is still much to do. I have no time to become an akuma, I have to get to work immediately, and it will be tomorrow before my classmates are all in the same place again."
"What… what if I didn't ask for the Miraculous in return, and you miss a few days of school to get everything completed?
"While missing school may become a necessity before everything is over and done with, I still have much to do. It would take far too long to force the truth out of Lila Rossi, and I am uncertain if Ladybug's Miracle Cure would erase any progress I made on designing as an akuma. You seem like a reasonable businessman, I'm sure you understand."
"Ah, yes, I do, actually. Cut me some slack here, I've been trying to akumatize you for over a year now! What kind of cloth are you cut from?"
"A different kind from my classmates. I refuse to stoop to their level. Besides, I have pride in the fact that I am not helpless, and the costumes I see akumatized people in are atrocious. Please have a nice day, but I do need to get to work."
"I-very well then. Good luck. Please at least make your classmates suffer."
Marinette's smirk alone was fuel to create a fear-based akuma. "They'll pay. But on my terms." The purple butterfly left her dress, and Marinette caught herself as she slumped to the floor. Resisting Hawkmoth had taken much more out of her than she had anticipated.
Gabriel rose from the underground room, surprising Nathalie. "Sir, surely she didn't-"
"No, Nathalie, she didn't loose. She didn't even accept my offer. I even offered to not require the Miraculous this time, but she still refused. Her mental strength is highly admirable, especially when her guard is at its lowest. She would be a great asset to us."
"In what manner?"
"Any way I can get her. She is one of the best designers I have seen in a long time, especially at her age. I caught a glimpse of her revenge plan when my akuma possessed her and it was astoundingly terrible, and she is kind and independent enough to make an amazing daughter."
"Sir, kidnapping is illegal."
"I don't have to kidnap her, I'll throw Adrien at her." Gabriel started to wave his hand in dismissal, then noticed the look on Nathalie's face.
"Sir, I think you should watch the rest of this." Nathalie walked forward, bringing up the video from earlier. Gabriel had only watched a second of it before rushing to his butterflies, it was easy to recognize the girl's room by her designs. He'd been gunning for her since she lied to him to help keep Adrien in school and made the feathered hat. Her spirit and dedication let him know that she could be a great ally or terrible enemy. She didn't (yet) have the money or power to come after Gabriel Agreste on her own, but he was certain that the girl was being considered for a Miraculous. He knew she didn't already have one, she hadn't responded to Miracle Queen, after all, but several of her classmates had used one. He actually paid attention to the video this time, watching all the way through. The first people seen on camera were the blogger girl and Lila Rossi, several other classmates cropping up through the video. He didn't notice Timebreaker, Evilillstrator, or the Bourgeois girl, though he did see his own son halfway through the recording, happily cutting at a gown that had been carefully beaded with a hawthorn pattern with a pair of scissors, cutting off the beads and chunks of fabric.
Gabriel's frown deepened. "Cut all ties to Lila Rossi immediately. We will be making a public apology, telling the public that we did not know of her abhorrent tendencies, nor did we expect her to pull Adrien into her schemes. Adrien will be appropriately punished, and we will offer Mademoiselle Dupain-Cheng compensation for the destruction of her property, along with a small team of designers that will know to make every stitch to her preference, no matter their opinion on the piece."
"Of course, sir. How would you like to make your statement to the public?"
"Call that news anchor, Najda Chamack, and ask her to come here. I will speak to her in person as soon as she is available. I also want the apology posted to every social media outlet we use, including our official website."
"Sir, is this not overkill? This isn't Audrey Bourgeois."
Gabriel glared at Nathalie. "No, she is not. She designs for more famous people than Audrey does. She is the main designer for the Wayne gala this year. Jagged Stone, Clara Nightingale, Tsurugi Tomoe, even the Wayne's commissioned her work. All of her designs are paid for in a split payment plan, the money for the materials is required upfront while the rest of the payment can wait until after the person received their design to make sure it is what they want. That means there will very likely be several highly influential individuals and families gunning for us because of Rossi and my son."
Nathalie paled. She hadn't imagined that the small girl who stumbled and stuttered every time she saw her would have that kind of power backing her. Everyone knew that the girl had Jagged Stone backing her, MDC was his main designer for everything and anyone who personally met the girl and the rocker knew who MDC was, especially since they were supposed to have their identity reveal at the Wayne gala. Jagged Stone by himself would be bad and the company would take a hit, though she was positive Marinette would stop him before he went too far. But with so many others working with Jagged… Gabriel (the company) would not survive.
"I will get everything arranged." Nathalie quickly left the office.
⏳
Marinette's first order of business was to email all of the clients affected by her classmates's actions. She informed them that they did not need to worry, as she was suing all the students for the costs of what they destroyed- not just materials, but labor as well, and would be buying new material for their clothes out of her own pocket until she got retribution. She also informed them that their orders would come in slightly later than planned, though not by much. Clara, Jagged, Kagami and her mother, and the Wayne's all responded to her email with assurances that things happened and to take her time. Bruce Wayne offered to delay the gala so that she would have plenty of time to rectify the situation, though she was quick to assure him that it was not necessary.
Her next order of business was cleanup. She collected every scrap of fabric big enough to make so much as a small patch or strip and sat them in a small box next to where her personal dress was. Everything else was collected and thrown in the trash. She dug out her receipts for all the fabrics destroyed, including the fabrics for projects intended for her classmates. She quickly pulled up the video Alya had posted, writing down who destroyed what. She matched the fabrics to the people, then calculated the time she would have spent on each piece. She reviewed the video one more time, noticing that none of the art students, including Chloè, were in the video. Though it was to be expected. The whole class knew how important all art was to the art students; those students would have stopped them if they were in the know. Chloè was not only in the art club, but also still exiled from the class, though her relationship with Marinette had gone from bully to ally. They still weren't friends, but they stuck together against most of the class, only Nathaniel and Alix leaving them alone. The class may have had five braincells in the entire room, Chloè, Marinette, Alix, and Nathaniel each having one all to themselves while the rest of the class, including Madame Bustier, shared the other one, but they used that one braincell to know who could be brought in on a scheme like this.
Marinette had just finished calculating who she would she for what and was on her way to buy fabrics when her phone rang. She grabbed it as she opened her hatch, activating her recording app as she answered. "Hello?"
"Mademoiselle Dupain-Cheng, it has come to my attention that Adrien Agreste and Lila Rossi have vandalized your property. Lila Rossi has already been terminated and Adrien will face suitable punishment for his actions. I wish for you to come by the manor at your earliest convenience for us to discuss payment."
"If you're free now, I was just about to head out."
"Of course. I'll send a car for you."
"Merci, Monsieur Agreste." Marinette pocketed her phone and made copies of the expenses each of her classmates would be charged. She had no way of knowing where, exactly, Gabriel Agreste stood, but she refused to leave anything to chance. The original, along with the receipts, was stored in her diary box while one copy was left on her desk and another found its home in her purse. She stopped by the kitchen to inform her parents that she was headed to the Agreste Manor and would explain later before walking out to wait on the car.
Adrien was smiling after school. He had never realized how freeing it was to tear clothes apart, especially clothes made by someone who refused to listen to him. Marinette deserved everything she got, plus some. He wondered what of hers he could destroy next.
He was surprised when he returned home to see his father glaring at him from in front of the stairwell. "We need to have a talk, son." The designer's voice promised pain. "About your friends and actions today."
Adrien stared at his father, confused. "Why? What happened?"
Gabriel growled. "Nathalie."
"Sir?"
"Show him the video, then leave us to our discussion."
"Yes sir." Nathalie quickly pulled up the video of the class destroying Marinette's designs and held the tablet out to Adrien before taking her leave.
Adrien watched the video, unable to understand what had angered his father. "Do you understand what you have done?" Gabriel demanded.
Adrien shrugged. "I got payback. She wouldn't listen to me when I told her to lay low, so I decided to help the class teach her a lesson."
Gabriel coldly glared at his son. "You have cost me over a thousand dollars just in the hours that girl put into her work. That does not include the cost of the materials, deformation of private property, or potential unlawful entry and vandalism charges. How do you know that Mademoiselle Dupain-Cheng is not currently an akuma gunning for your head? Or that her clients aren't going to press charges? Her clientele could ruin your entire class, your entire school, with a single phone call."
Adrien scoffed. "She doesn't have that many big clients. Just Jagged Stone. And Marinette can't get akumatized. She's too stubborn to listen to anyone."
Gabriel pinched the bridge of his nose and closed his eyes. "Adrien, I'll tell you this as your classmate is revealing it in less than a month. Marinette Dupain-Cheng has been taking the world of fashion by storm while using her initials, MDC. Only certain celebrities and rich people know who she is, mainly people she has worked or designed for. Jagged Stone is the first and main one, yes. But Clara Nightingale has been using her more and more. MDC is the main designer for the Wayne gala, not only Monsieur Stone and Mademoiselle Nightingale commissioning her, but the Tsurugi family and the Wayne family, along with several friends and supporters of the four families. Aubrey Bourgeois supports her, perhaps even more than she supports me, and I have admired several of her pieces done for contests."
Blood began to drain from Adrien's face, though Gabriel doubted that the boy fully understood anything yet. "Her mother's best friend is Najda Chamack, and Mademoiselle Dupain-Cheng babysits her child. Her uncle is a famous chef who loves his family dearly, especially since his great niece learned Mandarin to be able to talk to him and help him with his French. Alix Kubdel is friends with Mademoiselle Dupain-Cheng, and also comes from a respectable family- as well as Chloè Bourgeois becoming her ally after she helped with her mother. Not to mention that the Dupain-Cheng family is not hurting for money, as they are the best and most popular bakery in Paris. They get orders from all over the city, plus serve at almost every party that has edible food. You attacked the livelihood of one of the most powerful children in Paris. Not only that, but you destroyed the property of some of the most prolific people in the world." Adrien's face had lost all traces of blood, though Gabriel did not expect it to be from shame. No, his son was afraid because he had been caught. "You will not return to school until Mademoiselle Dupain-Cheng has revealed herself as MDC to the world, nor will you have access to any of your social media, messages, or phone. You may return to being homeschooled. I shall have to reassess the situation at a later date. If I do allow you to return to school, it will not be François-DuPont. You will drop contact with your current classmates. You are dismissed." Gabriel turned from his son, pulling his phone out of his pocket.
Marinette was escorted straight to Gabriel's office upon arrival. The man shook her hand before gesturing for her to take a seat. "Mademoiselle Dupain-Cheng, my assistant showed me the video of what your classmates did. My sincerest apologies. I assure you that my son is currently being punished and Mademoiselle Rossi's contract has been terminated. I also wanted to offer you compensation for your loss as well as a team of designers that will follow your instructions to the last stitch."
Marinette eyed the elder Agreste. "What do you want in return?"
Gabriel blinked at the girl. He knew she was smart, though he hadn't expected her to ask that. "For this? Nothing. My son deserves every lawsuit you draw up. I remember what it was like when I was first starting my company; something like this would have been devistating."
"Well, Monsieur, covering everything will not be necessary. I have already calculated the damages each student did and how much they owe for it. I am not holding you responsible for the actions of any of my classmates, not even Agreste or Rossi. I'm sure you have paid your son for working for you," Marinette felt viciously victorious when he nodded, "in which case he should be able to pay for damages himself. The same holds true for Rossi; she was a contract model for your company and was paid as such. They should both be able to afford my work- custom or not."
"Might I see what you've drawn up? I heard from Aubrey that you have a tendency to undercharge for your work, and, as you just said, my son and former employee should be able to afford your work. The beaded dress my son ruined, for example, should cost twenty-five hundred dollars, bare minimum. I would charge much more than that, especially with how much work is put behind hand-beading." Marinette could do nothing but gape at her childhood idol. She had been expecting a bribe, a threat, something to try to protect his son.
She pulled the paper out of her purse when he raised an eyebrow, pulling the video up on her phone. "Césaire was stupid enough to put her phone in the corner where I could track everyone's movements, and I can figure everything out if I can get Markov. I figured out who destroyed what and calculated what they owe from there. I don't know who picked the lock to the upper floors, or to my room, though my money's on either Césaire or Rossi. Césaire's obsessed with being a great reporter while Rossi is a liar and a thief. Harleprè, Lavaillant, Bruel, Couffaine, and Lahiffe owe the least, they didn't do much. They just ripped a few pages out of my sketchbook. Raincompx, le Chein, Césaire, Rossi, Agreste, and Kantè did the most damage, and so will face the bigger lawsuits. I have already contacted my clients and informed them of the slight delay. Your team of designers, while most appreciated, will not be necessary. It shouldn't take me more than a few days to recreate the Wayne's suits and send them off, I sent the dresses yesterday. Jagged and Clara will both be in Paris next week and can stop by my house to pick up their outfits and have a final fitting. I can easily deliver the Tsurugi chensogams to their home. That covered everyone that had their outfits for the gala destroyed. I had finished the majority of them yesterday and done the final checks before sending them off. I was supposed to send the Wayne suits off today, though that plan was foiled. I was lucky that I went ahead and finished my commissions rather than more personal projects. Most of what got destroyed were projects my classmates requested of me rather than important works."
"Are you positive you don't want help? At least on your beaded dress?"
Marinette pulled up pictures of what she had. "I have several different scraps of colors, most of them either on the darker end of the spectrum or metalic, from the works they destroyed. I'm going to use those scraps from my other works to make a pair of wings on the back of the dress, the colors getting darker the further down they go and metalic fabrics making the outline of the wings."
Gabriel considered the dress. "You'll look like a fallen angel. I hope you're still planning on charging my son the full amount for the dress."
"Most definitely. There will be some alterations I make besides the wings, putting some pieces back together, cutting or tearing others, partially rebeading sections, I have some work to put in. Your son added to my work load when it was already full, he personally destroyed not only my dress but Jagged and Penny's outfits as well. Might I know what punishment he is suffering?"
"So you can plan revenge accordingly?" Gabriel questioned. He sighed at her innocent expression. "He will no longer attend François-DuPont. He will basically be under house arrest for everything except shoots until after the gala. I am undecided as to whether he shall go to another school or be permanently homeschooled. He is not allowed any contact with his former classmates nor access to social media or his phone. So if you wish to strike, do it right after a photo shoot. You can do it before or during as long as you don't ruin the clothes on display."
Marinette's grin was pure evil. "Don't worry, Monsieur Agreste. I have too much respect for the work designers put into their work to be so crass. Will Agreste still practice fencing with Kagami?"
"I shall allow it on a trial basis."
"Very well. It was nice meeting with you, Monsieur Agreste, but I must take my leave. I have too much to do before I traumatize, I mean get payback, I mean revenge, wait, no, deal with my classmates after the gala. But before I go… You wouldn't happen to know anyone that would be able to teach me how to, how should I phrase this… I guess basically be an Ice Queen?"
Gabriel smirked. "Actually, my nephew, Felix Graham de Vanily, will be at the gala. He's a model from England, and many consider him an Ice King. He'd be a great teacher." And perhaps potential mate to bring you into the family. I wonder how many love akumas it would take to get you two together… perhaps Adrien needs a good influence his age around the Manor…
Marinette slightly felt as though she had signed her future away, though that was ridiculous so she simply thanked Gabriel before leaving.
The next few days flew by in a rush of designing and lawyers. The lawyers her parents got were more than willing to come to the bakery and talk to Marinette as she sewed, especially since she had eyeballed them and given them all scarves and beanies the next time they were there. Marinette didn't bother to pay attention in Bustier's class, electing to nap instead. She was awake for Mendeleiev's classes, though. She liked her dragon-like teacher as the woman actually taught her students. She managed to finish her clients' clothes with time to spare, having gotten so used to designing for Jagged, Penny, and Clara that very few adjustments needed to be made. A couple Wayne suits had come back with notes on where they needed to be adjusted and how, and those were shipped back out that same day. Her own dress took until the last minute, Marinette completely finishing it, including adjustments, the day before she was set to leave for the gala. She would be staying with Jagged and Penny in the Wayne Manor for the two weeks she was to be there, a week before the gala and a week after. Her classmates's parents were horrified to hear what their children had done, making sure the kids paid every penny of what Marinette was suing for without even going to court. Alix and Nathaniel had nearly gotten in trouble with their families, though Marinette was quick to personally visit and explain things. Apparently the other families had contacted the Kurtzburg's and Kubdel's about the scandal with the children, no one noticing that some of the children weren't involved.
She already had her traveling designing kit packed so that she could make sure the Wayne's outfits all fit properly. Chloè and Kagami were traveling with her, determined to make sure their former rival was well taken care of while their parents took care of the hotel. Jagged was fuming beside Marinette whole they rode through Gotham, the girl talking to her friends.
"So, Mari-hime, you told me that you would explain what was going on if Adrien refused to before we left."
Marinette gave Kagami a highly stressed smile. "I think watching the video would explain things better. I didn't want you to get akumatized because of me while we were in Paris."
"So you knew Adrien would refuse to tell me what crime he committed against you. What video?"
Marinette pulled it up on her tablet. "For the record, I simply suspected that he would keep his mouth shut. Though Monsieur Agreste is making sure that his interactions with anyone besides himself, Madame Sancouer, and his bodyguard are highly limited." She passed Kagami the tablet, Chloè leaning over to watch it with her.
The Japanese girl dropped the tablet in her lap as she watched, clenching her fists so hard that her palms bled. "How- how dare that baka! They all have no honor! They should meet my blade!"
"Kagami. Calm down. I have it handled. I want you and Chloè to teach me how to be a vengeful Ice Queen while we're here. Monsieur Agreste suggested talking to his nephew for lessons as well. By the time I'm back in Paris, I don't want our classmates to be able to recognize me. I already have some revenge planned, the wheels for those are already in motion. I messaged the Césaire and Lahiffe families to inform the entire family that I will be unable to babysit for them for the foreseeable future. Ambassador Rossi has a request in her inbox to visit the school while we are gone, as Rossi's classmates would love to hear about what it's like to be an ambassador. The le Chein family was sent a list of tutors for their son's failing grades, unfortunately all those tutors work at the same time as mandatory swim practice. I sent Luka a copy of the video, so Kitty Section is about to loose their lead guitarist so that he can learn under my dear uncle. Agreste will be facing a startling amount of bad luck for a good chunk of time whilst loosing all of his beloved friends. By the time I am finished, even Hawkmoth won't want to work with them."
Chloè stared at her friend. "Did you really just say 'whilst?' Who hurt you? I just want to talk."
Jagged continued to sulk. "She won't even let me send my rockin followers after those bloody rats. She's only letting me steal away a new guitarist!"
"Because I have everything planned out. And Agreste will become even more isolated once we return. No matter what I say, Kagami is going to duel him to the, figurative, death before informing him of her distaste for him and his actions."
Kagami mock glared at Marinette. "So what if I do? He deserves it. He deserves much worse. But how will he become more isolated? I will still be sparring with him twice a week."
"A person is more isolated surrounded by people that don't care about them than all on their own. Yes, you will physically be there. But your obvious emotional distance will leave him more isolated than him being stuck in his room all day."
Chloè stared at her new friend. "Where was all this evil cunningness when I was your bully?"
Marinette smirked. "I had a wake-up call. Césaire, ironically, taught me that it's okay to stand up for myself, and Hawkmoth helped release a part of me I had blocked out."
"What? Were you akumatized? How did I not know?" Chloè demanded.
Marinette waved her hand dismissively. "It was a few days before we actually became friends, and he didn't manage to akumatize me. He possessed my dress, but I refused to work with him. Apparently he's wanted to akumatize me for a while, but I'm good at forcing myself to calm down."
"What was he going to call you?" Chloè was highly excited to finally have someone who knew what it was like to fully resist Hawkmoth. Not calm down before the butterfly reached them, not resist for a second before giving in, but fully resist the man.
"Mistress Hawthorne." Marinette laughed. "I was going to have the ability to turn my ruined dreams into hawthorn bushes that would trap everyone in their castle and force them to see the truth." Marinette had to stop, she was laughing so hard. "I told him no, and he was so shocked that he only argued for a second before wishing me luck with revenge!"
Jagged continued to sulk through the teens laughter, refusing to give in. He wanted to crush those bloody teens. No one gets away with hurting his niece.
As soon as she arrived at the manor and had her bags unpacked, Marinette began tracking down the Wayne's, one by one, and dragging them back to her room with their suits or dresses, forcing them to put them on so that she could fully alter them to her preference. Dick was scared of the tiny Asian girl that slung him over her shoulder before grabbing his suit and forcing him to come with her when he hesitated and then worked silently, ignoring his attempts at friendship. He was so scared of her that he sprinted the other direction the first time he saw Kagami. Jason and Bruce both wanted to adopt the girl- she blended in perfectly with their family, and Jason had witnessed both, the girl's kidnapping of his brother and Dick running away from Kagami. He had to respect someone who could instill more fear than Demon Spawn himself, and Bruce wanted to cultivate that talent until he got a Nightingale. Damian and Cass both respected the girl for her professionalism and silence (and word of her traumatizing Dick had already spread through the manor). Tim instantly fell in love with the girl, as she asked him if he wanted coffee or tea while they were doing his fitting, as he looked dead on his feet (he did not choose both or cry tears of joy, and no one can prove to Alfred that he did). Selina purred at the amount of pure chaos she could feel pouring off of the girl, even with her suppressing it while she worked. She needed a kitten. Bruce already had his litter, it was her turn. Kor'i bounced in place the whole time, trying not to inturupt the girl as she adjusted her glorious creation.
Jagged disappeared with Bruce after his fitting, explaining to the billionaire what Marinette had been going through, even showing him the video of her work getting destroyed, before asking for his help to get revenge. He explained Marinette's known plans, and the rocker and vigilante began planning around hers, using their collective contacts and knowledge to open the class's wounds even deeper.
Dinner that night was chaos. Jason, Selina, Bruce, and Jagged were in a constant argument, with Penny occasionally interjecting, that abruptly cut off any time Marinette drew near, she was only able to catch the words adoption and revenge, Kagami and Cass spent their time in silence, eyeing each other. Chloè didn't breathe while swapping between berating Dick and Tim for their fashion choices and interigating them about Gotham and its foreign student transfer policies. Damian scowled at everyone the entire time from his seat next to Marinette. Marinette did her best to emulate him, not noticing Dick slowly sliding his chair further and further away from her.
Damian decided he liked tolerated Marinette five days into her stay. Dick had been complaining to him and Jason about how much Asian girls scared him and Kor'i wanting them to live with them. Marinette had somehow heard his complaints and came storming up to them, cussing Dick out in a mixture of French, Mandarin, Arabic, Italian, and English. Damian did not know why that caused a blush to creep up his face, though he admired the way her accent curled around the words, making everything seem like a language all of its own.
Jason chuckled when she walked off. "That. That was the art of cussing at its finest. I'm getting Alfed and we're going to go teach my new little sister how to shoot guns. Angel's my favorite, you can all suck it." Jason walked off in the same direction the girl had left in. It didn't take but forty-two minutes for the sound of gunfire to echo around the house.
The night before the gala, the women in Wayne Manor gathered in Marinette's room. The night was spent coaching her on how to act and reveal her identity, both on the carpet and during the gala.
"Don't fret so much, kit." Selina advised. "You are a queen, act as such. Keep you head up and keep your cool. They'll all be tripping over themselves to speak to you, and you don't give them the time of day." Chloè nodded her agreement, even as Kagami objected.
"You're approachable and professional at the same time. Just let people see both sides of you."
The women continued to argue, Marinette finally escaping to talk to Alfred. She spent the night under his tutelage, learning all she could about presentation. The man finally ushered her off to bed. "You have a long day tomorrow. You will need sleep to get through it."
Once arriving at the gala, Marinette kept her head high as she glided down the carpet, the press quickly stopping her to ask if she was a new Wayne and what happened to her dress. "No." She offered a small smile to them. "I'm the designer MDC. The Wayne's hired me to design their suits, and were kind enough to offer their home to me and my aunt and uncle, even letting two of my best friends, Tsurugi Kagami and Chloè Bourgeois, spend the majority of their time with me at the Manor. My parents live in France, where I will be returning to in a weeks time. My room was broken into a few weeks ago, and some of my classmates ruined the outfits I had in there, including my dress. I decided to take what they did to my dress and use it as proof that nothing will bring me down. Excuse me, I need to go. I do not wish to keep my companions waiting." Marinette offered them a small bow before leaving them, giving the press a good look at the drooping angel wings sewn on the back of her dress.
"Angel," One of the reporters breathed, leading to a frenzy. MDC was announced to the world that night as Marinette Dupain-Cheng, Angel of Gotham.
Finding her group was easy, and it was almost just as easy to spot Felix, Gabriel's nephew. She grabbed Damian by his forearm, the boy too startled by her random action to react, and drug him over to the boy she assumed was Felix.
She tapped.the boy on his shoulder. "Excuse me, are you Felix?"
The boy gave a hesitant nod. "Great! I want the two of you to teach me as much as you can about being a vengeful Ice Queen."
Felix raised one eyebrow, looking between the girl and the scowling boy. "What do we get out of it?"
"You get to live with the knowledge that I am going to use your teachings to traumatize idiotic classmates and I can keep the girls from making passes at you, as you are already occupied with entertaining a lady."
The boys both quickly gave their consent, refusing to let the girl leave their side for even a moment the entirety of the gala. They were appeased enough with the girl that her lessons continued throughout the following week, the boys enchanted enough with her to seriously consider following her to Paris and watching her strike like a coiled viper.
When Marinette returned to school, she had changed. Not just in personality, no, she changed everything. Her personality (at school), her hairstyle, her clothes, everything was redone to fit who she had become. Flowy black pants, a black sleeveless top held up by a ribbon that wrapped around her neck, a red leather jacket loosley hung on her frame, and black boots could be seen under the pants.. Her gaze was frozen as it swept over the class. She was unsurprised to see Adrien sitting in his usual seat, Gabriel had informed her of his decision to place Adrien back in Bustier's class for the time being so that Marinette could teach him a lesson. Alix and Nathaniel had transfered out of the class as soon as they had learned of what the students had done, moving to Madame Mendeleiev's class. Chloè was also leaving, though she was transferring to Gotham after the week was up. She wanted that week to be able to watch the havoc Marinette would wreck on the class. Kagami had already decided to join the class, and Marinette spotted her in Nathaniel's old seat. She was not expecting to see Felix frowning next to Kagami, nor Damian smirking at the back of the blond's head. Thanks to those very boys, though, it was amazingly easy to hide her surprise. A smirk crawled its way across her face, even as she stepped far enough into the room that everyone could see her. She had timed her entrance perfectly. As soon as the class went to explode with praises and questions, the bell rang, Madame Bustier walking in and asking them to all take their seats. Marinette made sure her steps were conscice enough to make it seem as though she was gliding up the rows, refusing to shoot her classmates so much as a glance.
Lila walked into the room moments later, late, her gaze zeroing in on Felix. "Felibear! It's so nice to see you again!" She squealed, rushing up the steps.
Felix stopped her with a cold glare. "Do I know you?"
Alya glared at the blond. "How could you ask your girlfriend if you know her? Especially since everyone knows you transfered to François-DuPont for her!"
Felix looked scandalized. "I did no such thing! I came here on request of my uncle. There are very few people here that I know from previous endeavors."
Lila burst out into tears. "H-how could you treat me like this? At least my Damiboo didn't do this!"
"Damiboo?" Marinette asked. Clearly Bustier wasn't going to stop the girl.
"Oh, I forgot you weren't here!" A sly grin crawled across Lila's face. "I suppose Damiboo didn't speak to you the whole time you were in Gotham, otherwise you would have known I used to date Damian Wayne!" The girl boasted.
Marinette looked at the horrified expression on her deskmate's face, and began her countdown. "I would never date a harlot like you!" He burst out, unable to stop himself. The class turned to stare at him, then realized that he had been just ahead of Marinette when the Wayne's and Jagged Stone arrived at the gala.
A slow smirk crawled across Marinette's lips, erasing the smile she had given her friends. "Do tell, Lila. I would love to hear all about your relationship with the Wayne's. Or about you dating Felix here. Oh! What about your relationship with my uncle? Save any of his cats lately? Let's not forget Clara Nightingale! Since she steals her music and dance moves from you, perhaps we could get a preview for her next video?"
Adrien frowned at Marinette. She seemed… different. "Mari, don't be so mean! Your supposed to be our everyday Ladybug, the better-"
"Agreste, if example is the next word to come out of your mouth I will steal Chloè's six inch stiletto right off of her foot and shove it down your throat while I laugh at your struggles." Adrien's mouth snapped shut as he paled, the class staring at Marinette in shock.
"Marinette! That was uncalled for!" Madame Bustier frowned at the girl. Perhaps letting her go to Gotham was a mistake.
"Really, Madame Bustier? From where I'm sitting, it was perfectly called for. Agreste is not going to use my emotions to manipulate me into being the perfect placemat anymore. You are not going to manipulate me into being the perfect victim. I will no longer tolerate this class's treatment of me. Four people in this room have the authority to call me by a nickname. They know who they are. Four people have the ability to ask something of me. None of them were the ones that destroyed my sketchbook or commissions. None of them told me that I always have to be the better person and set an example for my classmates. I refuse to allow myself to be used any longer."
Alya glared at her friend as the rest of the class stared at the noirette in shock or turned their head away from her in shame. "Girl, what are you talking about? First you want us to pay you a while bunch of money, and now you don't want to do anything for us?"
Damian started to retort himself, stopped by Marinette's hand on his arm. Her voice was frosted fire when she commanded the room. "Everyone in this room, excluding my four friends and our teacher, had a hand I destroying commissions for the Wayne gala, requests from all of you, and my sketchbook. That is why you were sued for damages. Some of you paid more than others because Alya was gracious enough to post a video she had taken of what you did on her blog that allowed me to see who destroyed what. That allowed me to see exactly who has hell to pay." The dangerous smirk several of her classmates had noticed danced across her face yet again, like a sword would dance in the hands of Robin.
Adrien scoffed. "you're just a baker's daughter. What could you possibly do?" He paled not long after the words flew out of his mouth, remembering what his father had told him.
"You look like you just remembered that I am not just a baker's daughter. Why don't you share with the class?" Marinette offered up one of her customary sunshine smiles, though Adrien was not fooled this time, quickly yelling the class exactly what his father had told him.
Lila blanched. Forget the Agreste's and that stupid reporter, she should have set her sights on Marinette Dupain-Cheng.
Marinette smiled down at the class, her court sitting in the back two rows with her. Chloè had kicked Felix out of his seat next to Kagami, and Felix had nudged Marinette into the middle of the bench, sandwiching her between Damian and himself.
Her blue eyes were frigid as she glared down upon her kingdom. The time for the Queen of Light was over- Darkness had come for her, and she welcomed them with open arms. Her crown darkened, from gold and diamonds to silver and onyx, and her reign had only begun.

Dogs are a Ladybug’s best friend
Dogs are a Ladybug’s best friend
@ozmav
This came from @thebookwormfairy idea “What if Marinette had a Retired Police Dog as a Pet”
@realrandomposts and I discussed which Miraculous would be used and, while my initial thought was turtle, @realrandomposts was the one who came with the idea for the fox, and just fit better for this fic (And I want to tick Alya off), because Trixx would NEVER miss a chance to cause chaos via having a dog as a holder.
As for Trixx’s gender, the site basically told me it varied from translation to translation, so I flipped a coin; literally.
At a Gotham hotel:
Marinette couldn’t believe Captain snuck himself on to the plane!  Actually, she could, he’s such a smart boy.  But, how did he get past all that security?  Never mind Trixx probably helped with that, he likes to cause chaos like that.
“Trixx, did you have a hand in getting Captain on the plane?” Marinette asked.
“Noooooooooo.” Trixx dragged out, trying and failing to look innocent.
Marinette sighed, running her hands through Captains fur.
“Besides he was going to miss you terribly so.” Trixx continued.
“And you would have missed him as well Marinette.” Tikki added.
“True…” Marinette agreed.
“And I know Captain never wants to leave his partner alone unless he has to.” Trixx said.
Marinette smiled, still petting Captain and him loving it, the Fox Miraculous; hidden by dog tags and a bandana, catching her eye.  Marinette remembered how this came to be.
*Flash back*
Marinette was having an awful week; Lila spread rumors around the school about her, her classmates have shown to be more like sheep than classmates, Adrien wanted her to continue being a doormat, and Chat could NOT take the hint at the last Akuma attack and left her alone to fight so he could throw a tantrum.
Thankfully, Captain has proven to be the best and most loyal friend she could ever hope for. Marinette knows he would never leave her in danger just because he didn’t like what she said, he never believe she was petty and jealous of a person with such FAKE tales, and he would never ask her not to stand just for justice; being a former police dog.
That’s when an idea hit Marinette.
“Tikki, I have an idea.”
Tikki tilted her head in confusion, watching Marinette look over at her dog.
“Come on Captain, I’m going to introduce you to Master Fu.” Marinette said.
The worst the Master could do was say no, right.
 With Master Fu:
“Greetings Marinette, Tikki” Fu welcomed.
“Hello Master Fu.” Tikki greeted.
“Hello Master, I hope you don’t mind but I brought my dog; Captain.” Marinette returned.
“I don’t mind Marinette; animals can be the best of companions and partners.” Fu smiled, holding out his hand for Captain to sniff.
Captain gave a cautious sniff, but accepted Fu; allowing him to give a single head pat.
“Why don’t we sit down, I feel we have much to discuss.” Fu offered.
“Thank you Master.”
Once they were seated at Fu’s low table, Fu began talking.
“What would you like to discuss Marinette?”
“Can a Miraculous be given to an animal?” Marinette asked.
Fu raised an eyebrow.
“May I ask what brought this on?”
Marinette steeled herself.
“First Chat Noir; he’s late or doesn’t show to battles, when he does he’s pretty much out of the fight immediately, he flirts at the worst times even though I’ve told him I’m not interested in him, he throws hissy hits on a regular basis, and he doesn’t see being a hero as a responsibility but as a game.”
“What of the other heroes?”
“The other heroes have proven that they see being a hero as game as well, they don’t look to see the truth went given no evidence, they like pretty words and offers of connections than working for it themselves and are unwilling to listen to reason when it’s something they don’t want to hear.”
Marinette looked Fu in the eye.
“I’m tired of fighting alone Master Fu.”
The last sentence bore a lot of weight behind it; and Fu heard it.
“I understand Marinette.”
Fu got up to retrieve the box, once he sat down again he started talking.
“You wish for Captain to stand beside you.”
“Yes Master.”
“Do you think he will be able to handle it?”
“Yes Master, he’s a former police dog, he probably has more training and experience than I do.” Marinette giggled.
Captain gave a small tail wag; he loved hearing his girl laugh.
Fu smile and nodded.
“Now it is possible for an animal to use a Miraculous, but the process is different.”
“How so Master?”
“Normally the Guardian would choose the hold, but in the case of animals; the Kwamii’s get to choose if they want to work with them or not, so I cannot guaranty anything Marinette.”
“I understand Master.” Marinette nodded.
“Good, first we must…”
Fu was cut off by a box shaking and jumping around until Trixx popped out.  Once he was out he grabbed Marinette’s hand and began to beg.
“Please, please, PLEASE let me team up with you and your dog! This looks like it’s going to cause chaos and so much confusion!  Please let me, I know how to speak canine, so I know when to transform and stuff, I get along really well with Tikki, my Miraculous can hang with his tags, and my charge up food is really easy.  Please, please, PLEASEEEEEEE!”
Marinette couldn’t help but laugh.
“I have no problem working with you Trixx, but let’s see what Captain thinks.”
Marinette turned to her dog, he liked Tikki, but that doesn’t mean he’d like Trixx.
Trixx flew over to Captain; Captain gave him a sniff.
“Hi Captain, do you want to team up with me to protect your girl?” Trixx asked.
Captain was quiet for a moment, but eventually gave a gentle woof in agreement.
“Yes!” Trixx cheered.
Marinette, Fu and Tikki laughed as Marinette clipped the Miraculous on Captain’s collar; behind the tags, but that laughter was cut short by screaming and crashing outside.
“AKUMA!!!!”
Fu turned to Marinette.
“Go.”
Marinette nodded her head.
“Alright Tikki; Spots on!”
Captain gave a stern bark.
Once the transformation light died down Marinette could see what Captain looked like.
Captain wore an orange, black and white vest that was modeled after a normal police dogs vest; it had the fox tail symbol, in white, on the back and a ladybug symbol on the front where a police badge would be.  Captain also had arm guards on his front legs that covered the top of his paws; they faded from orange to white, but Marinette’s favorite part was his mask.  It was just a normal orange, black and white mask, but just looked so cute.
“Well, I can’t call you Captain, no matter how common that name might be.” Marinette said, looking at her dog. “How about…Hunter?”
The newly christened Hunter gave a soft woof in agreement.
“Come on Hunter, we have an Akuma to fight.”
And then they were off.
“Good luck.” Fu said as they left.
 Where the Akuma was:
The fight with the Akuma, which Chat did not show up to, went smoothly. Hunter cast his illusion by howling and apparently, he could also sniff out the akumatized item, this made things so much easier.  Ladybug didn’t even need to cast Lucky charm! They even did a ‘Pound it’ where Hunter bumped his nose against her fist.
But once everything was fixed by the cure, Chat showed up.
“Hey Bug-a-boo.”
“You missed everything Chat.” Her voice was hard, causing Hunter to tense up.
“Aww, don’t be like that Love bug, it couldn’t have been bad.”
Chat reached out to grab Ladybug only to be blocked by a snarling Hunter.
“What the heck is that?!” Chat exclaimed, back away from the costumed dog.
Ladybug smiled sickly sweet smile at Chat.
“This is Hunter the new, and permanent, fox holder and my new partner.”
“But what about Rena Rouge?! And I’M your partner” Chat demanded.
“She has been retired, and don’t worry about the Guardian; he’s already agreed to this.  As for being my partner; tell me Chat when was the last time you showed up on time for a fight, didn’t get turned against me, or thrown a hissy fit and leave just because you didn’t get what you want?” Ladybug asked.
Chat couldn’t answer her, his mouth flapping uselessly.
“That’s what I thought.” Ladybug then turned to Hunter. “Come Hunter we should leave before your time runs out.”
Hunter gave a woof in return and jumped away with his girl, not before giving one last hard look at Chat.
*End flashback*
Trixx had been appalled by Chat’s attitude and was steaming while he ate his marshmallows, Tikki doing the same while eating cookies.
Marinette smile as she remembered Alya’s outrage at being replaced, and by a dog at that.  But Hunter proved to the people of Paris how good he was and how great of a partner he was for Ladybug; Their ‘Pound it’ was all the rage in the internet and is now the most popular trick to teach your pet.
So here she was in Gotham with her super hero dog, which snuck aboard a plane, and two powerful little gods.
What was her life?
“Well, sulking around this hotel won’t do us any good; how about we go for a walk guys?” Marinette suggested.
Captain, Tikki and Trixx agreed; Tikki flying into Marinette’s bag and Trixx flew under Captain Bandana.
At a nearby Park:
Marinette felt so much freer at the park, the only thing people would see was a girl and her dog.
She was just throwing the ball she got for Captain when another dog, a Great Dane, came up and began sniffing Captain.  Captain held still, ball in mouth, and let the other sniff; eventually Captain seemed to like the other dog and began leading them over to Marinette.
“Did you make a friend Captain?” Marinette asked, petting her dog.
Captain gave a slight wag of his tail and Great Dane’s tail was going so fast in was a blur. Marinette reached out her hand for the Dane, so they could get her scent; she was rewarded with a lick on her hand.
“Well aren’t you a sweet heart!  Let’s find out your name.” Marinette laughed, before reaching for the Dane’s tags. “Titus? Well it’s nice to meet you Titus!”
Titus barked his hello, trying to get closer to Marinette’s hands for petting.
“Alright buddy, you want to play fetch with me and Captain while you wait for your owner?”
Titus barked again, this time jumping around in excitement.
“Okay, okay,” Marinette laughed before winding up the ball. “FETCH!”
Marinette let the ball go and both dogs shot after it; tussling a bit to be the one to bring it back. This went on for a while before Marinette heard a voice shouting.
“TITUS!”
Titus responded to the call and ran over to a boy about her age, a very handsome boy.  Titus circled around the boy a couple times before running back to Marinette.  Marinette could only guess that this was Titus’ owner.  He made his way over to her.
“Hello Miss, I’m sorry if Titus caused you any trouble.” He greeted.
“Titus was no trouble at all; he was a real sweet heart.” Marinette assured. “My name is Marinette, and this is my dog Captain.”
“It’s lovely to meet you Marinette; my name is Damian, you’ve already met Titus.” Damian greeted, gently taking her hand and placing a kiss on the back; Marinette couldn’t help but blush.
Watching his girl blush at the new person caused Captain to step between the two, making both of blink.
“I’m sorry Damian; Captain doesn’t like strangers getting too close to me.”
“It’s fine Marinette; I should have introduced myself to your dog before invading your space. It’s understandable that he takes me as threat.” Damian said, slowly reaching out his hand for Captain.
Captain investigated the offered hand and gave Damian a hard stare.  There was a tense moment before Captain gave a snort and walked to Marinette’s side.
“I think you’ve been approved of Damian.” Marinette said surprised. “He usually doesn’t like a lot of people; really it’s just me and my parents.”
“A high honor then, I will do my best not to waste it.” Damian stated. “I would hate to ruin my chance at talking to a beautiful lady such as you.”
The blush returned to Marinette’s face.
“T-Thank you, but I’m not much.”
Damian just smirked at her, making her blush more.  Damian was going to say something when he noticed Titus sniffing at Captain’s Bandana. Marinette knew he was smelling Trixx.
“That is a very well made, where did you get this Marinette?” Damian asked.
“I made it myself; I couldn’t find anything in the stores that I liked.”
“Really?  Might I commission you to make one for Titus?”
“You can, but I don’t have a lot of my sewing supplies with me in Gotham, so it could take some time.”
“Where are visiting from Marinette?”
“I’m visiting with my class from Paris; we’re here mainly to see Wayne Enterprise.”  Marinette clarified.
“And they let you bring your dog?” Damian asked.
“They didn’t ‘Let me’.” Marinette looked over at Captain with a mock serious look. “Somehow, someone managed to trick the entire airport and sneak himself onto the plane.”
Damian gave a snort in amusement.
“Really?!”
“I know it sounds fake, but…”
Damian cut Marinette off.
“No, I believe you; I’ve seen animals be smarter than people before, but this very impressive.  Your classmates must have thought it funny.”
Marinette wilted a bit when Damian mentioned her classmates; he noticed.
“What’s wrong Marinette?”
“You won’t believe me…”
“I’ve been told I very good at telling who’s lying, so please tell me.”
“There’s a girl in my class who doesn’t like me, and she made it sound like I snuck Captain aboard the plane on purpose just to get attention.  I wouldn’t even know where to start on that!”
“It sounds like she’s done more than that Marinette.”
“She has…” Marinette sighed, she then gave a brief explanation to Damian about what was going on; he was not pleased.
“Your classmates are morons; large ones.”
“Yeah, they are.  Hey Damian, do you know much about Wayne Enterprise?” Marinette asked.
“I know enough.”
“Do you think they let Captain in?  I’d hate to leave him at the hotel tell all day.”
“I’m positive they will Marinette, the Wayne family is a very open-minded family.”
“Thank you, Damian,” Marinette smiled, before asking another question. “Do you know any nearby dog friendly restaurants are?”
“Of course, I’d be happy to show you.  Perhaps you would let me join you as well.”
“I’d like that Damian; it would be nice to talk to someone with common sense that isn’t Captain.”
Damian chuckled and held out his arm; which Marinette took, and began to guide her to the closest café their dogs trotting along with them.
While at the café Damian got Marinette to open up a bit more about her classmates; Marinette didn’t know why she did that, she was just comfortable with him.  And if Damian thought her classmates to be morons before, he though them to be outright imbeciles now.
“These people clearly have no brain cells Marinette.”
Marinette smiled at Damian, it was nice to have someone who can listen to reason.
Eventually Marinette and Captain did have to go back to the hotel, not before they exchanged number though.
“Can we do this again tomorrow; my class won’t be spending all day at Wayne Enterprise.” Marinette asked just before she left; surprising herself at her boldness.
Damian didn’t seem to have an issue with her request though.
“You took the request right out of my mouth Angel.”
“A-Angel?” Marinette stuttered.
“Certainly, you’ve shown your class kindness and patience when they don’t deserve it or you, so yes Angel; unless it makes you uncomfortable Marinette.”
“It’s fine Damian, just please; never call me Princess.” Marinette pleaded.
Damian clearly wanted to ask why but left it alone.
“Of course, Marinette; I will respect your wishes.” Damian nodded his head. “Now will you allow myself and Titus to walk yourself and Captain back to your hotel?”
“Sure Damian.”
The walk was made up of Marinette asking what Damian wanted the Bandana for Titus to look like.  Once they reached the hotel they said their goodbyes.
“It was wonderful meeting Damian, you too Titus.”  Marinette said.
“You as well Marinette, Captain.” Damian waved goodbye.
The next morning:
Marinette, Captain and the class set off for Wayne Enterprise, Lila being Lie-le the entire time on the bus.
“The Wayne family just loves me; they always try and make sure I’m alright.” Lila boasted.
“Wow Lila, do you think you could introduce me?  I’d love to have an interview!” Alya questioned.
“Maybe Alya, they are a very busy family after all; we probably won’t even see them.” Lila redirected.
“Aww, that’s too bad.” Alya was disappointed.
Marinette, keeping a hand on Captain, resisted the urge to roll her eyes.  Last night before going to sleep, Marinette looked up the Wayne family; ignoring all the pictures she didn’t care about those and found many things. Like, if Alya wanted an interview she could just request one, yeah there would be some restrictions but Alya doesn’t care for doing her own research.
Adrien just kept quiet, just as always.
The class reached Wayne Enterprise; Marinette and Captain at the back of the group and were greeted by a surprise in the lobby.
“Hi everyone, I’m Dick Grayson and I’ll be the one giving you the tour around the building.”
The entire air shifted; Alya was ecstatic, Lila could get her an interview right away!  Lila was terrified, because this could go very south on her and she had no back up plans on being called out by one of the people she bragged about.  Marinette was confused, why were people getting excited?
Marinette was never good with icons outside fashion and music, so she didn’t know the Damian she spent time with the day before was the Damian Wayne.   So, when Damian got home he spoke with his family, telling them of a girl in the French tour would likely be using their names for gain.  Nobody liked the idea of being used, so if the topic came up they would shut it down; Damian figured out from Marinette’s descriptions that the topic would come up from one person or another.
Damian theory proved true when Alya; the pushy, rude, ‘always right’, Alya raised her hand.
“Go ahead.” Dick called on her.
“Hi, I’m Alya; I’m friends with your friend Lila Rossi!”
Lila froze at Alya’s exclamation; going very pale.
Dick frowned, now knowing who the liar in the group was; but was inwardly smirking at the chance to call them out.
“I’m sorry, but I’ve NEVER met a ‘Lila Rossi’ in my life; whoever that is lied to you.”
Alya looked like her world shattered with that one phrase.
Marinette realized Dick must be an important person Lila lied about; which one Marinette wasn’t sure they all sound the same after a point. Marinette looked over at Alya and saw the devastation on her face; Marinette really hoped her former friend would learn from this and start fact checking.
Marinette started running one her hands through Captain’s fur, the motion keeping her calm; watching more horror appear on her classmate’s faces as Dick continued.
“I hope she didn’t use our name to take advantage of people and she continues like this she will be hit with a lawsuit.”
Lila blanched, a lawsuit would really be bad, but she didn’t know how to backtrack from this lie; she didn’t think a Wayne would be the one conducting the tour.
“Well, now that that’s cleared up we can begin the tour.” Dick said, clapping his hands together.
But in a desperate attempt to get the negative focus off her Lila tried to get Marinette in trouble.
“Look Marinette brought her dog!  He can’t be here!”
Everyone turned to look at Marinette; Ms. Bustier was quick to say something.
“Marinette why in the world did you bring your dog?!”
“I didn’t want to leave Captain alone in hotel ALL day, what kind of pet owner would I be if I did that Ms. Bustier?  And how did you not see me bring him onto the bus?!”
Ms. Bustier opened her mouth to try and reprimand Marinette more but was cut off by Dick.
“This is perfectly fine Ms. Bustier; we were warned ahead of time that due to some strange events, there would be a dog in the group today.”
Ms. Bustier could only nod, not being able to argue with Dick, But Lila was outraged by this turn of events.
“Who could have possibly warned you about her dog?!”
Marinette; as much as she didn’t like Lila had to admit, that was a good question.
“I did.” Came a voice off from the side.
“Hey, Damian.” Dick greeted.
“Hello Grayson,” Damian nodded, before approaching Marinette; Titus at his side. “Hello again Marinette, Captain.”
“Damian! Titus!  I hadn’t thought you might work here!” Marinette said, “Which is silly looking back now, because you knew if Captain would allowed or not.”
“It’s fine Marinette.” Damian smiled at the sweet girl.
“Oh, hold on!  I was going to give this to you later, but since you’re here now.” Marinette said as she rummaged through her bag, pulling out a yellow piece of cloth.  “I managed to find some cloth and made Titus a Bandana, it’s nothing fancy but I wanted to see if he even liked it first.”
The Bandana was yellow with black thread spelling out ‘Titus’ in cursive.
“Its wonderful Marinette.”
“Thank you, Damian, can I put it on Titus now to see if he likes it?”
“Certainly.”
Marinette bent down to carefully tie it to Titus; who was holding still for her.
“There.” Marinette stood up.
Titus was then bouncing around her and Captain, braking and wagging his tail in happiness.  Making Damian and Marinette laugh, as Titus did his best to get Captain to play with him.
While they were in their own little world the people around them watched in awe; Damian Wayne could smile, he could laugh!
Dick was grinning ear to ear, being very thankful the lobby had cameras or else there would be no proof of this happening.
Alya could decide between being hurt or confused; hurt by Lila’s lies or confused by the fact Marinette knew THE Damian Wayne.
Adrien was concerned; this was just going to cause more problems, why couldn’t Marinette just stay low?
Lila was seething, how is it that when she finally won over the class of idiots and turns them against Marinette, Marinette goes and somehow charms one of the riches and coldest people in the world!  This could not continue.  Lila slipped away; unknowingly catching Dick’s eye.
The rest of the class was just in awe of the sweet atmosphere around the two.
That atmosphere was broken when the sound of screaming and breaking began, a giant form comes busting into the lobby.
“Hello everyone, I am Arachnae and with no Ladybug or Chat Noir around, you all will be nothing but flies in my beautiful web.”
Arachnae was a human torso on a spider’s body, her entire form was covered in bright orange fuzz; head to the tip of each spidery leg.  The form was also very clearly Lila; she had her face and hair and the necklace she always wore, but the one thing different about Lila’s is that she now had 8 eyes.
Dick was the first to react.
“What the %&$@!”
Arachnae let out a hiss and shot webs from her hands; the strands aimed mostly at the class and Marinette.  The people that got hit were turned into little soulless puppets for Arachnae to play with and amuse herself.
Marinette jumped to dodge the web, hitting the ground running; looking for a place to hide, Captain at her side.
“Marinette!”
When Marinette dodged she threw herself away from Damian, causing him to worry, but his yell brought Arachnae’s attention to them.
“Ah yes Marinette, when I catch you I’m going to make you miserable!  And your little dog too!”
Arachnae charged at Marinette.
“Damian run!  She’s focused on me, go get help!” Marinette yelled, before she and Captain took off.
The chase began, with Arachnae destroying anything that got in her path.  As she ran Marinette began looking for a place to transform, counting on Captain to guild her around Arachnae’s attacks.  Eventually Arachnae ends up bringing the ceiling down and blocked herself from Marinette and Captain.
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Arachnae screamed in rage. “FINE, I’LL JUST PLAY WITH MY NEW TOYS UNTIL YOU COME BACK! I KNOW YOU WILL YOU USELESS GIRL!”
Marinette looked around for a place without cameras and spotted a closet.
“This will have to do Captain.” Marinette said to Captain, as she closed them both inside. “Tikki? Trixx?”
“Ready!” They chimed together, flying from their hiding spots.
“Alright, now; Tikki Spots On!”
*Bark!*
With a flash of light Ladybug and Hunter were ready.  Looking around she saw some vents she and Hunter could crawl though, so the cameras didn’t see her.
In the Lobby:
Arachnae had gotten most of the people in the lobby, except for three; Dick Grayson, Damian Wayne, and Adrien, her biggest targets outside Marinette.
“Just surrender to me, it would make this all so much easier!” Arachnae hissed at the boys, sending more webs and puppet people at them.
Dick and Damian had managed to dodge webs, puppets and Arachnae; Adrien was hiding behind a plant behind Arachnae, but they were also trapped in the lobby and running out of options.  Titus was running around, unable to get to Damian and Dick.
*Bark, Bark, Bark*
“Shut up, you dumb mutt!” Arachnae hissed, raising one spider leg bring it down on Titus.
“Titus!” Damian yelled.
Just as the Arachnae’s leg was about to hit a string from a ceiling vent wrapped around it and pulled. Arachnae was pulled with such force she toppled over, and two figures fell out of the vents.
“I don’t know how you got Akumatized outside of Paris, but that doesn’t mean you’ll win.”
“Ladybug.” Arachnae snarled.
“What?  Not happy to see me?”
Arachnae gave a war cry and launch herself at the duo.  Ladybug and Hunter jumped out of the way, Ladybug in the opposite direction of the people, Hunter grabbing Titus and bring him over to Damian and Dick. After dropping Titus off Hunter went back to Ladybug’s side; who was dodging Arachnae’s webs and people puppets, and bit one of Arachnae’s spider legs.
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH” Arachnae let loose a scream of pain, she turned to Hunter. “You God awful waste of space!”
While facing Hunter, Arachnae left herself for a hit; but the hit wasn’t from Ladybug.  A small black blur cut Arachnae across the arm.
Arachnae hissed at the contact, as Batman dropped down from another vent in the ceiling.
“Batman?!  What are you doing here!” Arachnae growled.
“Really Lila?!  We’re I Gotham, you’re causing trouble and you expect Batman not to show up?” Ladybug’s exasperated voice came.
“Shut-up! And it’s Arachnae!” Arachnae snarled, clearly humiliated.
Batman threw a few more baterangs that exploded into smoke bombs and ran over to Ladybug and Hunter.
“What’s going on?” Batman asked.
“That is Lila, she has been akumatized,” Ladybug started. “Not sure how outside Paris, but that’s worry for later, but we need to find the akumatized object and break it.  That will make her lose any power she has.”
“What’s the object?”
“The only thing it could be is the necklace, everything else is just orange fuzz, but getting close to her is dangerous.  If you get hit by her web, you’ll become her puppet and I rather not fight you Batman.”
“What are your names?”
“I’m Ladybug and this is my partner Hunter.”
*Woof*
The smoke was beginning to clear from Arachnae’s face.
“We better hurry before she…”
Ladybug was cut off by a voice.
“Don’t worry Milady I’ll help you!” Chat yelled, while trying to jump in, only to get hit by on of Arachnae’s webs.
“Not again Chat!” Ladybug cried.
“Does that happen often?” Batman asked, disappointed.
“More than I’ll ever truly admit to” Muttered Ladybug.
“Oh, this perfect! Or should I say purrfect?” Arachnae jeered, as Chat puppet now dangled at the end of her web.
Batman tried to cut the web by throwing some baterangs at it, but they just bounced off.  Arachnae then sent a swarm of people puppets at them. Ladybug then had an idea.
“Batman, I need you to throw more smoke bombs.”
He did as he was instructed.
“Hunter!” Ladybug called out.
Hunter let loose a howl.
Once Hunter’s howl was done Ladybug grabbed Batman and ran behind a pillar.  Once the smoke was cleared Batman carefully looked around the pillar and was stunned when he saw the figures of himself, Ladybug and hunter were still there; Moving, talking and just outright distracting Arachnae.
“How?” Batman was blunt in his question.
“Hunter can cast an illusion, but he can only cast it once before he’s on a time limit.” Ladybug explained.
“And you?”
“This; Lucky Charm!” Ladybug through her Yo-yo in the air and what came down was a bottle of peppermint extract.
Batman gave Ladybug a confused look.
“Lucky Charm only gives me what I need, not what I want.” Ladybug clarified looking around and spotted the sprinklers in the ceiling. “I have an idea; do you think you can cut the necklace off of her neck?”
“Yes.” Batman replied, catching on to her idea.
Arachnae just managed to destroy the illusion; disappearing in a puff of smoke, when Hunter and Batman dropped in front of her.
“Why won’t you do things MY way!” Arachnae screamed.
“Because your way is wrong.” Batman stated, throwing baterangs at her.
Hunter jumped at her spidery legs, barking and biting at them; because he was under her she couldn’t shoot webs at him, but his biting allowed enough distraction for Batman to try and target the necklace.
As the three battled, Ladybug made her way up to the sprinkler system; carefully hooking up the bottle.  Once it was secured Ladybug dropped to the floor and pulled the nearest fire alarm; causing the sprinkler system to go off.
Since Lila was currently part spider, and spiders don’t like peppermint, she started to scream and curl herself into a ball.
Batman saw the opening and accomplished cutting off the necklace; which Hunter caught and brought over to Ladybug.
Ladybug broke the necklace and release the akuma, catching it with her Yo-yo and cleansing it.
“Bye, Bye butterfly.”
After she was done cleansing the butterfly, Ladybug turned to Hunter and held out her fist.
“Pound it.”
Hunter bumped his nose against her fist
As Lady was cleansing the akuma, and ‘Pounding it’ with Hunter, Batman turned off the sprinklers a brought back the Luck Charm.
“I’m sorry for the trouble.” Ladybug said taking the charm. “I really don’t understand how she did this.”
“Gotham’s use to damage.”
“It doesn’t make it okay, but don’t worry I have something for it.” Ladybug smiled, “Miraculous Ladybug!” Ladybug tossed the bottle in the air and it exploded into thousands of little sparkly pink ladybugs.
The ladybugs swarmed over everything, reversing all the damage, turning people back to normal and healing any injuries.
The barricade Dick, Damian and Titus were behind was cleaned up and put away, leaving two stunned people and a very happy dog; Titus bounced over to Hunter to say Hi.
“Holy Sh*t! How!?” Dick asked looking around.
“Magic!” Ladybug chirped.
A groan caught Ladybug’s attention; it was Lila.  Ladybug made her way over to her.
“So, here we are again Lila.” Ladybug said in a scolding tone.
Lila tried desperately to come up with an excuse.
“It wasn’t my Fault Ladybug! Hawkmoth…”
Ladybug cut her off.
“Hawkmoth doesn’t have the power to akumatize someone in another country, let alone one across an ocean, or he would have been doing it from the start.  Now how did you get akumatized Lila.”
“You can’t prove anything!” Lila tried.
“I can.” Batman said, pulling up some security feed on his computer gauntlet, he projected it for all to see.
The video was of Lila slipping into a hallway, clearly trying not to be seen by people, and when she was done double checking her surroundings; she pulled a little glass jar out of her bag.  That jar contained a purple butterfly.  Lila then opened the jar and let the akuma to fuse with her necklace; creating Arachnae.
The people from Paris gasped.
“I-it isn’t what it looks like…” Lila began.
“Really, because to me this looks like you are either helping a known terrorist or wanted the destructive power at your disposal for whenever you felt necessary.” Ladybug was disgusted, turned to Batman. “Gotham, America in general, are not my territory; how do you want to handle this?”
“The young lady is clearly a threat to people and has purposely tried to harm them; she will be facing justice.” Batman said pulling out a pair of hand cuffs.
“What?…No!  YOU CAN’T!  I’M THE DAUGHTER OF A DIPLOMAT! TWO OF THEM!” Lila tried to fight Batman off, but without the power of the akuma she had no chance.
Around this time the GPD showed up, Batman gave them a quick run down about what happened, and they took Lila away; Batman would be dropping by later with the evidence.  A few stayed behind to take statements.
A frantic beeping was heard.
“I’m sorry Batman; Hunter and I have to return to Paris, out time is almost up.”
“Before you go can you tell how you got here?”
“The horse miraculous can teleport,” Even more beeping, “Thank you for your help Batman, come on Hunter.”
*Bark*
With that Ladybug and Hunter were gone through the vent they entered, leaving Batman and a disoriented Chat behind.  Batman made his way over to Chat.
“How did you get here?” Batman asked, Chat clearly hadn’t come with Ladybug, so he needed to know.
“Uhhh…Got to go!” Chat just ran off.
Batman knew he was just going revert to civilian state somewhere in the building, he’ll look at the security feed later.
“Damian!” Marinette busted into the new repaired lobby with Captain right beside her.
“Marinette!” Damian yelled running over to her “Are you alright?”
“I should be asking you that!  You were the one trapped with her!”
Batman was shocked to see Damian be sweet with a girl, with anyone really, and subtlety glance at Dick. Dick smiled and mouthed ‘Future girlfriend’ to him.
As Damian and Marinette were connecting, Batman noticed a blond boy run into the lobby; from the same hallway Chat ran down.
“Marinette, what were you thinking?” the blond asked running over to her and Damian, interrupting them.
Just as Adrien was about to reach her Captain stepped in front of her in a protective stance; Titus joined him, causing him to stop short.
“Adrien, what are you talking about?” Marinatte asked, standing behind her furry guards.  Damian wrapping his arm around her for comfort.
“You caused Lila to be akumatized!”
“What!  No, I/she didn’t!” Marinette and Damian yelled.
“Yes, she did, if Marinette has just stayed low none of this would have happened.” Adrien insisted.
Batman intervened before Damian could break the boys jaw.
“Young man we have proof that Lila Rossi voluntarily did the ‘akumatization’ to herself.  This young lady had nothing to do with it.”
“B-But Batman; if Marinette hadn’t exposed Lila…” Adrien began, only to be cut off by Dick.
“Hey kid, I’m the one who called out that liar and are you insinuating that you KNEW that she was lying to her classmates?”
“W-Well she wasn’t hurting anyone.”
“Kid you need a lesson on toxic people; BADLY.” Dick shook his head at Adrien.
Adrien was about to say something when he felt a hand on his shoulder; he turned, it was Batman.
“Please return to your class, the police will take your statement.”
“What about Marinette?” Adrien tried, wanting the girl to came back with him and away from Damian and his dog; not that Captain would let him get close.
“I’ll be the one taking her statement, now please return to your class.” Batman stood firm in this.
“I’ll take him back Batman.” Dick offered, grabbing Adrien’s shoulder.
So Adrien shuffled away; being lead by Dick, continuedly glancing over his should at the group.
“Is this normal behaviour for him Angel?” Damian asked.
“When I don’t do what he wants, yes.” Marinette confirmed.
Damian made a face at her answer, but before they could farther into that talk Batman had a question.
“Miss can you tell me more about these ‘Akuma’ and what happened with Ms. Rossi.”
“Sure.” Marinette sighed, “But you’re going to need some back story as well.”
Batman nodded his assent and Marinette gave the entire rundown about what is happening in Paris and the amount of rolls Lila played as an Akuma.  When she was done Marinette was out of breath but looked like the world had been removed from her shoulders.  Damian had pulled her closer as she spoke, and Captain and Titus were trying to cuddle up to her.
There was a beat of silence before Batman spoke.
“I’m sorry, I don’t know how the League missed what was happening.”
“It’s fine Batman, I know the League would never let us flounder if they knew what was going on.” Marinette assured, “Honestly I think magic had something to do with that, but I’m not sure WHY the mayor didn’t contact you.”
“It will be investigated, thank you for your time.” Batman then walked off to talk to an officer.
Once he was gone Damian turned to Marinette; who was still in his arms.
“Are you sure you’re alright Angel?”
“I’m fine Damian, I promise, Captain and I hid in a closet.  Thank you for staying with me though, talking about akums and Lila just takes a lot out of me.”
“Consider what you told me yesterday and what you just told Batman, I think it’s a miracle that you were akumatized yourself.”
“I work hard not to be, but I should be allowed to feel bad without Hawkmoth trying to take advantage of me.” Marinette sighed.
A commotion of noise grabbed their attention, it was Marinette’s class; they were arguing amongst themselves.
“I really don’t wat to go back over there; that looks like pure drama.” Marinette groaned.
“Drama that could have been avoided if they had any common sense.” Damian commented, “Since you don’t wish to rejoin your class, and you’ve already given you statement, would you and Captain like to join Titus and I for lunch again?  We’ll still be in the building and I’ll let Grayson know what’s going on.”
“That sounds wonderful Damian.”
Captain gave a small tail wag and Titus was just happy to spend more time with Marinette and Captain.
“Then it is agreed.” Damian said, sending off a text to Dick and then holding out his arm to Marinette. “Shall we?”
Marinette giggled and took the arm.
“We shall.”
Damian began to lead Marinette and the dogs to the cafeteria.
“I hope the Wayne family isn’t too mad at the problems my class caused.” Marinette commented, making Damian freeze in his tracks.
“Damian?”
“Angel I should let you know; because I would hate you to think I lied to you, but I am Damian WAYNE son of Bruce Wayne.”
“Oh.” Marinette blinked, “Well I hope you and your family aren’t too mad at my class.”
Damian’s was stunned, Marinette saw the look.
“Damian, clearly your family is important, but that doesn’t matter to me; what matters is that you are a good person.  I’ve met other kids from important families, but they were terrible, and I wanted nothing to do with them.  You’ve already proven to be a great person and that’s all I need.”
Damian gave a soft smile.
“Thank you, Angel, you truly are treasure.”
“So, your family won’t be mad?” Marinette asked.
“Nope, Gotham sees more damage than any other place in America, so the problems Rossi caused wouldn’t raise any more attention.” Damian explained. “The fact is was repaired by a hero from Paris will actually draw more attention.”
“Oh.”
“Indeed, now shall we continue to lunch Angel?”
“Definitely.”
So, arm in arm Damian and Marinette went to lunch; Captain and Titus trotting along with them.
End.
That was Dogs are a Ladybug’s best friend.

A number of Drabbles written in MariDami discord for the HC that Damian has crows that follow him around
Tumblr media
...
*Damian walking up to pick marinette up from school with his flock of crows behind him and a scowl on his face.
“Oh Mari must have been telling you such awful things about me!” Lila cried, throwing herself against Damian’s arm (he side stepped out of her way and smirked as she stumbled). “She’s been such a bully, you’re better off not hanging around her, but if you want to hang out with me?”
“No offense, sausage hair, by I suggest you leave now while you still can. I didn’t have time to feed the ladies and frankly I think they think your hair looks appetizing. Also I’ve know Mari for years now. I don’t think she’s capable of hurting a fly. Me on the other hand.” He took a step forward, the crows crowing behind him as if anticipating his next actions. “I would kill a man without second though. Would kill a liar with zero hesitation. You mess with Mari and my birds here will be the least of your worries.”
Lila paled considerably and backtracked up the stairs to look for Ayla. She passed Marinette on her way in who immediately noticed Damian waiting for her and raced down the stairs, jumping down the last few, as he caught her and spun her around. “I missed you Angel.”
“You saw me this morning.”
“That was hours ago.” He kissed her cheek and took her hand in his.
“Suppose it’s a good thing you’ll be starting class with me next week.”
“I look forward to it.”
“ I see you brought your entourage?” She teased glancing to the group of crows perched on various objects around them.
“They’re only in this relationship for the free food.” He huffed. “But I was just going to get them food. Figured I’d wait for you and we could go together?”
“Sounds like a plan.” He smiled down at her and pulled her gently down the walkway towards their next destination
//////////
When Damian starts hanging around Marinette, the crows discover that, yes, Mari can and will feed them if she has food on her. So they hover around her a bit. Not like they do Damian, mind you, but it’s not uncommon for Marinette to walk into her balcony and find some trinket or another sitting on the chair
//////////
Crows are smart. It didn’t take long for them to learn Marinette is Ladybug and once one crow witnessed the transformation, the word spread like fire. So imagine Chat noirs shock when a swarm of crows swoop down on an akumatized victim, snatch up their object and deposited it on ladybugs hands.
“Uh...my lady?”
“It’s easier to just not question it, Chat.” She said, purifying the akuma and walking over to comfort the victim. “And don’t tell me the extra aid isn’t appreciated.”
“Oh no, it’s appreciated, but how to I get my own army of crows?”
/////////
(Ok but, what if, bear with me, the crows see Gabriel in his little hidey hole And they figure it out but, being crows, can't properly communicate it - Lili
They would take the Miraculous and give it to Mari - Chocolate17 )
Damian wasn’t expecting to be woken up in the middle of the night to his phone ringing, but usually if someone dared to call him at this hour it was important.
“What?” He scowled, eyes barely open and head still on the pillow.
“I love you.” He woke up immediately because that was his angels voice and why was she saying she loved him? Like of course he knew she did, but this was so random?
“I love you too. Is something wrong?”
“I’m outside, let me in.”
“You didn’t answer my question.”
“You’ll understand if you come let me in.” He cussed and scrambled out of bed, throwing on a t-shirt that probably clashed with the sweatpants he wore, but Marinette has no right to berate him at this hour. And that’s beside the point. Why was she even here? What had happened? He swore of Lila had done anything
He opened the door to find a beaming Marinette with three loaves of what looked like freshly baked bread in her hands. “What?”
“Where are they? I know they sleep on your balcony at night sometimes. Where are they?” She meant the crows. She was here for the crows with freshly baked bread.
“You made them bread at three in the morning?”
“I should be making them much more than that.” Damian frowned absolutely and utterly lost.
“I’m confused.”
“Oh right!” She shoved the bread into his hands and reached for her purse. “I was working on a design late and walked out to get some fresh air and guess what I found waiting on my chair?” She pulled out the butterfly and peacock miraculous and showed them off. “I dunno how and I don’t care but they somehow got them for me. I’ve been fighting hawkmoth for years, Dami, and you’re crows were the ones to take him down.”
“You were out detectived by crows.”
“Technically so were you since you’ve been helping me.” He scowled.
“We never speak of this to my brothers. They will not let me live it down.” She smiled and pecked his cheek with a kiss.
“Where are your ladies, Dami. I’m gonna feed them so much bread.”
“Come on, I’ll get some hot water going, we can sit out on the balcony at talk over tea while word spreads your here with bread.”
“I’ll grab the blankets.”
(On the balcony)
“Holy crap we have to tell Adrien.” Marinette realized only for Chat to drop down on the balcony and de-transform.
“You guys will not believe the shit that just happened at home.” And he goes into this long winded dramatic story about the crow siege on Agreste manor and the entire time Damian and Mari are exchanging a realizing look. “I dunno why they were there but it was so cool.” Adrien said finally finishing.
“So, I guess that answers some questions.” Damian decided, as Marinette pulled out the two recovered miraculous.
“The crows dropped them off earlier this morning, dunno where they got them, but I think we just got our answer.”
“Oh...” Adrien deflated a little but then his signature chat grin returned. “OH! So what, pray tell, are we going to do about it? We have three whole superheroes and one miraculous-less washout of a father alone in his mansion. Between the three of us, I’m sure—“
“Already ahead of you on that one Agreste. We’ve been brainstorming what we were going to do when we figure out who exactly hawkmoth is, but now that we have a face to a name, we can scheme more effectively. Naturally you should have a say in this.”
“Ah, I knew there was a reason we were friends.” He hummed, sitting down and taking a by of bread to toss to the slowly amounting crowed of crows
//////////
Adrien Agreste, ever the actor, hid his feral grin behind a concerned look as he marched into his fathers office with an envelope addressed to “Hawkmoth.” Damian, Mari, and he had spent the rest of their sleepless night concocting and playing out a plan. Their hands were tied. Since they couldn’t expose hawkmoth and they couldn’t claim he was a villain without him denying anything and everything, they had to do something else. The end result was this video. A painstaking brilliant video that was so successful because Adrien swore every crow in Paris was hanging out on Damian’s balcony.
“Uh, Father?” His office was a mess, things tossed about and Adrien again fought to hide his smirk. Gabriel turned on his son, anger in his eyes they slightly faded when he saw who was at the door.
“I don’t believe we are supposed to meet today, Adrien.”
“Um, no, but I saw this in the front hall. I think someone slid it under the door or something, I dunno. It’s addresses to hawkmoth though, which—“ the man snatched the envelope out of his sons hands.
“Out,” he ordered.
“But—“
“Adrien I have important business to attend to, please excuse yourself and head to school.” He deflated a little.
“Yes father.” He turned and left, but as soon as the door closed behind him, Adrien was gone like a bat out of hell. He didn’t care if his father caught him anymore, he leaped off the front porch with a shout of “claws out,” and was racing across the roofs back to Damian’s place as Chat.
He landed, raced into the living room and vaulted over the couch as his chat costume dissolved. Damian and Mari were already waiting, a queue of his fathers office playing because there was no way they were going to miss this. This masterpiece his father was about to watch was the combined efforts of three angry, very very tired, teenage superheroes, and everyone who had to deal with one ever in the span of their life knew that teenage heroes could be and absolutely are little shits.
//////////
Gabriel Agreste was not having a good day. He woke up this morning and not only was the butterfly miraculous missing, but the peacock as well. At first he’d thought he’d misplaced them. It would be a first, but wasn’t impossible. He tore his office apart looking for them, but he’d stopped when his son arrived holding an envelope labeled to hawkmoth. There was no address on it so clearly someone had dropped it off here personally. But how? He’d covered his tracks. He should be off the suspect list.
Inside the envelope was a disc, and after clearing his desk of the clutter from his search he inserted it into his computer and pulled it up on the monitor behind his desk. It was a video. Someone had sent him a video? Hesitantly he hit play only to balk at the sudden close up picture of a crow.
“What the f—“
“Gabriel Agreste!!!” A low voice growled, as the video began to zoom out. And zoom out. And zoom out. There were at least 100 crows in the shot and Gabriel wasn’t sure what to make of this until the frame zoomed back in on a few, two of which were holding the miraculous he’d been searching for. “Gabriel Agreste, we’ve been watching you, and we have not liked what we’ve seen. You have abused the people of our city for long enough and we grow tired of watching them suffer. When they suffer, we suffer from the lack of food they stop giving us. So tonight we’ve said enough is enough. We’ve taken your source of power. We’ve been watching, we’ve been waiting. Your judgement has arrived, and you cannot escape it.” The image panned over the flock of birds and in a layover that sounded as if they were all speaking at once. “We will forever be watching you Agreste. If we see you so much as step out of line, our vengeance will be swift and merciless. We are everywhere Gabriel Agreste. You cannot escape us.” And then the image went blank. And Gabriel stared.
He watched it another three times to try to make sense of everything, and after the fourth time he realized something. There had been a lot of crows hanging around the manor as of late. More than than usual, considering the usual was zero. And sentient birds? He would buy it. He knew of the stuff villains in America did to animals he wouldn’t put it past them to create a sentient flock of crows that had escaped to Paris and were now...what? Hunting him?
Gabriel knew he should be more panicked than this. Is entire plan foiled by? Crows? Crows?
He ran his hands through his hair and stared blankly at the floor.
“Nope,” he couldnt believe this was a thing that was happening. “Nope. I’m not dealing with this. God sent crows as a sign for me to stop and I’m not dealing with this.” Gabriel had seen some odd things during his run as hawkmoth, but frankly this was ridiculous. He’d gotten his hands on the miraculous by chance. No way he was gonna get them back that easily now.
He pushed himself off the desk and walked to the door calling for Natalie as he went. She was not going to believe this either. What was the world coming to?
//////////
“Did he just??? Quit?” Adrien had watched his fathers reactions carefully. “Just like that. Threatened by crows and he quit?”
“I’m more surprised he even bought the whole crows out to get you thing.” Damian huffed, half asleep and leaning heavily on Mari’s shoulder who was also giving Adrien a tired smile.
“Adrien, I think it’s about time you made friends with your own crow.” Damian snorted and Adrien realized exactly where this was going.
It was later in the day when Adrien walked back into the house with a crow nestled safely on his fluff of hair. Shockingly, Gabriel was there to greet him and froze upon seeing the sight.
“Adrien, what is that?”
“A crow, father. I’m sure you’ve seen them before.”
“Yes, but why is it on your head and in my house.”
“Oh, well he just landed there and wouldn’t leave me alone. I think he’s lonely. Offered to take him home with me and he seemed to like the idea. I know you said no pets, but this will be like... an on again off again relationship. And he’ll stay in my room.” The crow screeched from his head and Adrien coughed to hide his smile when Gabriel jumped away.
“I don’t like that way that bird is looking at me.”
“Ferdie is harmless.”
“You named him?”
“Can I keep him?” The designer glanced at the bird and then to his son.
“I...guess?” Adriens whoop was just as loud as the birds as her ran up to hug his father. Ferdie flapped over to the railing to wait and followed Adrien as he raced up to his room.
Gabriel stared after him and sighed. “What is happening?” He went to find Natalie again hoping he would wake up and this entire day would have been an elaborate dream.

Damian: Is the equipment secure?
Marinette: Check.
Damian: Weapons loaded?
Marinette: Check.
Damian: Did you have breakfast?
Marinette: Wha- That's not on the checklist?
Damian: I added it because I care about you
Marinette: No, I did not have breakfast.
Damian: Unacceptable, check your pocket.
Marinette: *pulls our granola bar* Hey, there are little chocolate chips in this!
Damian: Yes, I'm not an idiot. I know how to trick my best friend into eating her fiber.
