"The example?" It keeps happening. It's habitual, and goes to Rosseter's version of events. And for as for LegazyZero, his defense of Fungo was basically, "Sure he hits his girlfriend. Doesn't everybody?"

I wouldn’t know, I’ve only seen the one example and I generally don’t watch game livestreams.

Also, you say that about LegacyZero, but unless I see the video, I can’t just take your word for it.

I’m trying to stay neutral here, unless you have evidence, I likely won’t change my mind on these matters.

Feud? Is that still going on? The best Fungo had was "Rosseter tried to steal my girl". You can see Fungo threatening his gf with violence in his damn streams.

I’ve seen the example you’re referring to, all I see in that is an off-color joke. I have no knowledge of what goes on between Fungo and Bronze, only accusations. Two sides, two stories, both with ‘evidence’ supporting both.

There was at one point a video of LegazyZero talking of the feud that could have had more insight, but since it’s gone, it seems I’ve seen all resources that are available without going to Facebook, and I’m not about to create a Facebook so I can wade more into the crap pond.

Adding this because I refuse to take part in the feud. I still like Fungo, and I have no true knowledge on what’s happened on either side. A lot of accusations both ways, both sides flinging insults and blindly supporting their side, it’s tiring. So instead, I’ll just follow both Fungo and Twin-Perfect’s content equally.

“You promised you'd take me there again someday...” Silent Hill Notes Part 3 - Silent Hill 2 Part 2

By my calculations, it’s been 332 days since I was last seen here. I could wait another day so it could fit a theme of spooky numerology and symbolism, but the fact is, there’s nothing spooky going on, things have just happened so the timing is a coincidence.

I’m not sure what happened in October, November and most of December to make me not post the last bit of my notes. Could have been hatred of the cold and staying in bed, could have been the news of new Star Wars and the teaser coming out and taking over my life, all I know is there’s no excuse for the down time then. However, in late December, the week of Christmas, I started having long running panic attacks, the fear was awful. Before the fear I had bought The Evil Within, I played between breaks of the panic, but I just couldn’t keep it down enough to play it. I can’t even play it now for irrational fear that it might cause the panic to come back. But of what I played, it’s pretty good.

For three months, this panic came and went in quick succession. By April, I just completely forgot about this blog and just about everything related to video games. I was just out of it.

Thankfully, Twin Perfect have uploaded a new video at just the right time to inspire me to come back; I hope I still have readers, and I apologize for being away for almost a whole year. I’ve missed so much; a new, promising Silent Hill game was pitched and killed in my absence. There’s a lot to catch up on.

Silent Hill Notes Part 1

I recently found a small, purple notepad that contains some notes I took while playing through Silent Hill 1 and 2 my first couple of times. Many pages are missing, some notes are out of chronological order; it looks like the scribblings of a mad man.

I'll be transcribing these verbatim. All errors will be left in as I originally wrote them. Enjoy, maybe?

Found shattered glass vial and a mess of what looks like blood on the floor. "looks smashed on purpose"

Elevators not working

Turned on power.

4th floor button suddely suddenly appears after the third floor is checked. - Rusty

Had to look at a walkthrough because running from Cybil without ammo got annoyin fast. Apparently forgot a liquid at the hospital and I HAVE to kill Cybil. I don't have any ammo - this is gonna take a while.

SPOILERS AHEAD: Long Time, No See

Lately I've been too lazy and distracted by things to keep this blog up, but I'm back.

Big news obviously for Silent Hill: Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro are teaming up to create the newest installment in the franchise. I was made aware of this when I saw Fungo had uploaded the teaser:

Never has excitement and hype for a game been created and killed so fast. Hideo Kojima? Awesome. Guillermo del Toro? Exciting. Norman Reedus' face ripped straight into the game? No thanks.

I don't have a problem with Reedus, it's just that a known celebrity's face put into a game would be too distracting for me.

On the surface, the narrative is worrying:

"Dad was such a drag. Everyday he'd eat the same kind of food, dress the same, sit in front of the same kind of games. Yeah, he was just that kind of guy. But then one day, he goes and kills us all! He couldn't even be original about the way he did it. I'm not complaining... I was dying of boredom anyway. But guess what? I will be coming back, and I'm bringing my new toys with me."

Sounds like the same old, likely misshapen Silent Hill 2 cookie-cutter plot. And that was my thought at first. Nothing but cynicism.

But then, using my hype goggles, and my experience in film analysis, I tried reading between the lines. Perhaps out of desperation.

What I came up with was this:

"sit in front of the same kind of games" This could mean the stagnation of the series since Silent Hill 4: The Room. 'But then one day, he goes and kills us all! He couldn't even be original about the way he did it.' This could be talking about the same old plotline for the games happening over and over, copying Silent Hill 2. "I'm not complaining... I was dying of boredom anyway." Again, series stagnation. "But guess what? I will be coming back, and I'm bringing my new toys with me." This could mean that it's the series itself talking in a personified manner, the son of its predecessors bringing back what the fans loved and more perhaps.

Part of me wishes to believe that whoever wrote this could sense the irony of the text in context to the series. It makes me want to believe Hideo Kojima is messing with people's expectations, as he is one to do.

As for the demo itself, I enjoyed it fairly well. Got a mixture of vibes from Silent Hills 2, 3 and 4.

The apartment or house setting is obviously reminiscent of Silent Hill 4: The Room, not to mention the peep-hole in the shower. The subtle dilapidation of the setting had a Silent Hill 2 feel for me, along with how the horror presented itself. The red lighting in some areas reminded me of Silent Hill 3. The hanging fridge was reminiscent of 2 and 3 for me as well, I just wish it were less obvious what it was. Perhaps it could have been wrapped in garbage bags and duct tape or something.

The fetus in the sink is a creepy touch, but a wee-bit too obvious in context of everything else. It could have been more misshapen.

The ghost of the mother was the biggest disappointment. While creepy, she was too humanoid for a series like SIlent Hill.

I liked the mirror in the bathroom being scratched out at face level. Reminded me again of Silent Hill 2 and 4.

The bag of ...stuff... in the tally marked room was a nice step, even though the shaking and talking felt silly. The voice could have been filtered more and the movements more subtle.

The most worrying bit was the repeated, red-lit hallways with the moving eye photos. It seemed too silly to me.

I do have to say, I liked that the game only used the one, small environment for the mere fact that it's a risk. It shows that this team, at least at this point, isn't scared enough to be bogged down by horrid nature of what is called "survival horror" these days.

I'm cautiously hopeful for this new installment, Guillermo's monster design beside Kojima's eastern love for western film could very well be a good thing for the series in my opinion.

Silent Hill Revelation 3D is such a bad movie, it makes the first Silent Hill movie look like a masterpiece by comparison. Michael J Bassett was trying to create a sequel to he first movie while including plot details from Silent Hill 3, which is impossible because Silent Hill 3 isn’t about what the movies are about and the first movie can’t be sequelized anyway.

Revelation 3D is probably the most difficult movie to create a Fridge Logic for because it’s so stupidly complicated it almost defies an explanation of how it’s so bad. Every explanation of the plot requires an explanation of the explanation for that explanation, and even then it doesn’t fully explain the depths of the movie’s idiocy. We recommend you watch the movie before watching this video, and then watch both again, and then one final viewing of the film to help it set in.

The Silent Hill movie has escaped alot of negative criticism due to its confusing nature, interesting visuals, and the quality of its competition in the video game adaptation film genre. But, even when it’s not compared to the games on which it’s based, its narrative falls to a small amount of logical thinking.
