Once again your Vanitas headcanons just brighten my day and make me smile! I don't have anymore to request but I hope you have a wonderful birthday! I hope you get Marluxia requests since you seem to like him so much!

can I have some headcanons for how Terranort would react to a fellow Apprentice trying to flirt with him?? ;-) good luck for the rest of seeker week my dear!!!!! 💛

+ I am torn between Terranort being utterly oblivious to any romantic advances, turning into even more of a human icicle than he already is, or just becoming downright flustered. So let’s go through the cycle:

+ We start at Oblivious for your first couple of attempts. Any cute jokes will be met with a slow blink. He bluntly states that he fails to see what this has to do with the current experiment, and continues working. Heaven help you.

+ Nothing short of grabbing him by the ascot and pulling him close while you tell him in very clear detail just how much you want to kiss him on the mouth will make him aware of your… interests

+ He reaches the Flustered Stage when that big smart brain of his finally computes what exactly you want from him. He clears his throat and tries to smooth his hair back into his preferred style, struggling to compose himself and resist a blush on dark skin. Please, Y/N. Be serious, he says, Our education is our priority.

+ Enter the Human Icicle Stage: Xehanort puts his all into staying collected when you make passes at him. He has a lovely resting bitch face. Not that it deters you; it just makes him look even cuter. He can only give you the cold shoulder so often when you’re required to work together, and you know better than to be outright distracting. You can toe that line so perfectly that he sometimes gets thrown back into Flustered. It’s only the repression from his older form that Xehanort is able to restrain himself from screaming in frustration.

+ Flustered and Human Icicle are probably representations of the two halves which make up his heart: the former is Terra, definitely the type to get awkward when someone flirts with him. Yet, he would long for the warmth of someone else near him. Xehanort is the half who is all business and wants nothing to do with any of this. A large part of his frustration stems from this rather literal inner conflict. It might end with a slip of the tongue in which Terra-Xehanort replies to you with a very well and then an internal oh shit, there’s no going back now

+ Bonus round: how do the rest of the Apprentices react? Dilan and Even think you need better taste. Aeleus actually hopes things work out for you both, so long as you remain professional in scholarly duties. Ienzo is too little to really understand this kind of thing, so he just shrugs and keeps eating his ice cream

+ Braig feels immensely gratified to see Xehanort so clearly out of his element for once, but there’s also the question of this possibly interfering with their plans. Well, the coot always seems to have things figured out, so Braig can kick back and enjoy the show for now

+ None of Radiant Garden’s apprentices or supercomputers could have ever predicted this, but the person who’s most supportive of your budding relationship is… Ansem the Wise??? He admires the devotion his students show to their lessons, but also believes it’s important for them to enjoy their youth as well. Flirtatious antics just make the master laugh warmly, and he even offers some perfectly embarrassing Dad™ Advice about dating each. No one enjoys the sight of Xehanort’s composure breaking when he sputters in horror at his mentor’s implications more than Braig does, but Ansem knows damn well what he’s doing

Can I ask for some headcanons for Aquanort and Ansem trying to impress their crushes?

Ansem

+ As with everything else, Ansem approaches his crush with absolute confidence when he courts them. Despite how much he tends to dominate a conversation, he always behaves within reason. He won’t make you feel overwhelmed with his charms, though he’s more than capable of getting you flustered with his words and subjugating aura

+ A man who follows his calling to seek wisdom would consider no other method of impressing a potential partner with his own knowledge, especially on matters of the heart. He would be drawn to a kindred spirit who values intelligence in the first place, so his crush probably doesn’t mind being an audience to his rants lectures on darkness anyway

+ Brute force is only something he uses as a last resort and he would certainly not consider using such a primitive manner to impress his crush. However, when he sees his crush being harassed by someone, whether it’s a rude passerby or someone who has you trapped in a toxic relationship, he might be tempted to sic the Heartless on them. Just a few. Of the really nasty breed. Ansem may not be the protective type, per se, but he won’t tolerate that kind of behavior towards someone he’s deemed worthy to be his equal

Aqua

+ After letting her heart be corrupted, what could she possibly have left to impress you with? That will be her mindset when she finds herself developing feelings for somone. She doesn’t try to impress her crush because she no longer believes she has anything worth seeing. The very least that she can do is show you some of the gentleness that defined her former self. She is a bit guilty of that motherly attitude she used to have towards her friends, but instead of endearing, she feels much more… intense. She just wants to keep your light safe since she’s already lost hers

+ If she’s confident that you can take care of yourself in case of an emergency, Aqua might let you come along with her to visit other worlds. She makes sure to leave you somewhere safe while taking care of Seeker business because she selfishly doesn’t want you to see the horrors she’s capable of now. Leaving you alone doesn’t sit well with her–not after spending a decade by herself–so she tries to make up for her time apart from you by stopping to show you the sights she remembers from the last time she was in the Realm of Light. It doesn’t matter if the scenery doesn’t do anything for Aqua now; her attention is already captured by your smile and the way you relax even when she’s near

+ Sometimes her efforts to keep you out of the literal dark turn out to be in vain. Her displays of strength when she’s protecting you from any kind of threat aren’t meant to impress you because she can get downright vicious. She is so used to fighting for her survival, and while that concept has ceased to have any meaning for her, she can fight with the same ferocity when it comes to your safety. Unfortunately for her, that means you might end up seeing how she fights less like the noble warrior she once prided herself on being and more like the demon she is now. At the end of the battle, she never wastes words on excuses or begging you to stay. What you decide to do with your budding relationship is entirely up to you. If that choice is to remain by her side, she just takes your hand in hers with the utmost care and leads you away from the battlefield

Your Vanitas headcanons made my day I couldn't stop laughing at imagining the nail polish scene with Ven! The headcanon where Vanitas will try things after his s/o tries inspired me to ask if you have any headcanons about: What activities Vanitas would find the most interesting/entertaining after trying them with his s/o. Would he start doing those things like styling their hair or painting nails with them daily? And would he develop any hobbies after a while?

+ Physical activities, even something as mundane as running, would be great for Vanitas. Possibly parkour??? We’re talking about a boy who leaped off a cliff with zero hesitation. It’s totally understandable if you prefer to avoid any major injuries by not participating, he gets it. A chance to impress you while you watch from the sidelines will just make this even more fun for him. He has a very high competitive streak, so any potential rivals would better watch out. No one is surprised to learn that Vanitas would be an enormous brag. However, when he gives in to the thrill of victory and yells as he spins you around in his arms to show the crowd how incredible you both are, it’s kind of difficult to complain about the boost to his ego

+ He’s tried calmer methods of exercise like yoga, but continued to dislike it even though he was determined enough to make more than one attempt. Holding still has never been his strong suit. He’s very restless, not unlike Sora–but comparing Vanitas to the other boy with his face is an effective way to pissing him off quickly. It’s not like he has that boundless energy; being active and keeping his body in shape helps him feel strong. That goes a long way with giving him that sense of security he’s never had before

+ The nail polish incident was a big step for Vanitas, actually. Contrary to his name, he was very insecure about his appearance. It took him a while to feel comfortable enough to keep his helmet off for any longer than a few hours, even if you were the only person nearby. Next is helping him adjust to having his face touched. It’s not an easy sensation for him–he’s only known pain from the hands of a person he was supposed to to trust. I can absolutely guarantee you that he suffers from touch starvation once he’s hit that comfort level with you. He can play the big tough warrior, but your fingers combing through that messy hair or your thumb tracing the shape of his cheek makes him weak in the one way he can allow himself to be. He’s probably in the habit of not caring for his hair, so you’re the only one who’s allowed to brush and cut it without being in danger of losing some fingers to Void Gear. Sitting still to have his hair fiddled with is kind of a pain for him, and he’d much rather have your hands in it than a pair of scissors, but he can deal since it’s your attention regardless

+ Eventually, he will have to get out of the bodysuit if he wants to completely assimilate into a “normal life.” Vanitas will struggle with this for longer than he did with taking his helmet off and leaving his face exposed. Dropping what is essentially his armor, and the only thing he’s known after so long… It’s scary, though he won’t tell you that much. He will need lots of reassurances from you that he’s safe and there’s nothing wrong with his body or the scars it’s gained during those years under Xehanort’s reign. The first couple times he leaves those skintight clothes, it’s only when you’re sleeping together. He clings to you the entire night because your familiar curves and the softness of your skin are the only things left that make him feel secure. He’ll move on to stealing your own clothes. I can imagine him being picky about cloth textures, so the comforting scent on your clothes makes this new sensation easier to tolerate. And he just looks so damned cute when he’s using your baggy sweaters as pajamas

+ Eventually, Vanitas will graduate on to his own wardrobe… probably filled with things from Hot Topic. He is 1000% a filthy little edgelord and you can’t take that from me. Besides, you can’t deny he looks good in it. Make sure to remind him of that, because his name doesn’t mean vanity for no reason. Aside from wearing blacker than black, an assortment of chains and spikes, and your stolen hoodies, Vanitas also has a secret fondness for dressing up on date nights with you. Because when you look good, you feel good. That goes double when he can make his s/o swoon from seeing him in a nice vest and tie~

+ Depending on where you work, Vanitas will drop by once at day to see how you’re doing. This can be a blessing and a curse if you’re in retail. On the one hand, you’ll have a very protective boyfriend ready to point his Keyblade at the necks of any rude customers. On the other hand, you might not have that job for long because your boyfriend is threatening customers. And he’ll just laugh if your coworkers try to ban him. He’s been through war; like hell is he going to let some morons with a piece of paper (even though it’s showing his incredibly handsome face) keep him apart from you

+ He’s big on trying every type of food possible. Oh my god he would be the luckiest person on earth if he’s got a s/o who likes to cook and bake. They will have a very willing taste tester on their hands–even if he tends to lick off more frosting than intended and he will certainly lick off their hands too. Vanitas prides himself on being fearless, so there are very few foods that he’s afraid to try… unless it looks particularly gross. (He’s done his fair share of evil things in the past but spinach is fucking evil)

+ In the end, he probably has more jock hobbies, but that doesn’t mean he won’t be interested in any creative hobbies you might have! He could get lost in a book easily if you can hunt down one that would catch his interest. He would be very supportive of a writer s/o; he never imagined one could vent their most terrible emotions and thoughts in such a harmless way. You could definitely write him cute notes and poetry, although he’ll be too flustered to do anything more than mutter “Yeah. It was nice. Good job” before ducking his head to hide a potential blush under messy dark bangs. Whatever you’re passionate about, he’s fascinated by even if he feels like he lacks the creativity to be much good at it. Remember how I said he would be smug about his sports prowess? This extends to you as well. Everyone’s gonna know just how much you two are capable of together

Thanks, hun! I’ve been stuck in a Hamilton mood for the past several months so this felt like the perfect request to express it!

AnsemDepending on the song he catches you singing, Ansem might be more entertained than exasperated by your hobby. Such childish antics would normally annoy him, but it can be a different case if you’re singing something with especially profound lyrics—the more poetic and depressing, the better. He reveres darkness in all forms, and art is no exception. He’ll permit you to sing those kinds of songs near him more often if you wish. Catch him in an especially good mood and you may inspire an old human memory of ballroom dancing—prompting him to take you in his arms and dance with you in the darkness. Can you see it? Well, I most certainly can. Even Xehanort’s Heartless can appreciate the occasional spot of fun, but his partner will have to be the one who spices up the relationship because he isn’t going to seek out the fun for himself; he’s too busy with his plans anyway

AquaShe wouldn’t be able to stop her lips from cracking a smile at your cheerfulness. Even with Xehanort’s cruelty in her heart, she can’t find it to tell you to stop. Her former self might have clapped or sung along with you. Now she insists that her voice isn’t really suitable for that after all the years of having no one to speak to in the Realm of Darkness and giving her present company the cold shoulder often (just because she has to work with the other Seekers doesn’t mean she has to like or even act civil towards them). It’s why she cherishes your presence so much. She might have to decline on singing, but there’s enough of that knightly chivalry left in her that she can still join you in dancing. Like Ansem, she would twirl you in her arms but with even greater gentleness. Aqua may not smile much anymore, but the way her golden eyes analytically watch your graceful movements is calming where most would find them terrifying

VanitasEasily the least receptive person on this list. The mask over his expression wouldn’t hide the revulsion in his tone when he tells you to knock it off. This is mostly because he’s in an especially horrid mindset while being around Master Xehanort and his many vessels, so try not to take it personally. In fact, you can take comfort in the fact that the source of his irritation towards you lies in the odd compusion his limbs feels to move in turn with your voice. He absolutely, definitely does want any part of this, and he will keep insisting that he’s not going to make a fool out of himself by dancing with you. That is, until his denial spawns an Unversed which starts jiggling right in front of you both, much to his horror. The way he balks at the dancing Unversed is very likely to make up for how he snapped at you earlier. He’ll want to eliminate it right away, but quick thinking and the knowledge of how doing so will hurt him will result in your hand on his wrist to stay any violent impulses. The Unversed will take this chance to flee, leaving you with a sulking Vanitas, but a cheesy tune that implies how much you care for him will help smooth over the situation.

XehanortHe shakes his head in a mixture of fondness and exasperation when he finds you like this. Such things are juvenile and pointless, yes, but even that feels like a discovery worth watching when it’s through your eyes. Unfortunately he won’t share your enthusiasm; he would rather go back to the islands for the sole purpose of drowning himself in its waters before ever singing, and unlike his Heartless he is too shy reserved to dance. The only exception I could see him making is a soft hum when you two are falling asleep together, perhaps an old lullaby that he learned in his childhood. With a voice as pleasing as his own, it definitely won’t take you long to succumb to sleep against his chest. On the other hand, you would also be welcome to sing softly to him while he rests his head in your lap during a rare moment of freedom that befits his youth

Shoutout to my sister from another mister @addicted-to-darkness​ for providing her world class Nort expertise on this one because it was a challenge for sure!

+ Once Xehanort has reached a certain point in his plans, the odds of forming an attachment to some are rather small. They would be higher with someone who has already been close to him for a very long time. The fondness of shared memories from your youth helps tie you both together after all these years, however disconnected he may be

+ As a boy Xehanort was rather distant, maybe even awkward, but age will have refined his charms. That said, he wouldn’t be considered a romantic, but he can certainly be thoughtful when it comes to that special someone

+ He still has an old-fashioned sense of chivalry. A skilled manipulator like him can easily do a 180° from suave gentleman to utterly ruthless. He takes care not to let you see too much of the latter side, however

+ What this means for you is that Xehanort is unfailingly polite to you, always. That is, until the warm familiarity of your presence comes back in full force. You’re the only person whom he can engage with in casual banter these days. Even the Master has a few inside jokes that always get a chuckle from him.

+ Physical touch usually comes in the form of kisses on the back of your hand, and that’s about it. He was never the type for such intimacy, and that certainly hasn’t changed with his age. He may even joke that you ought not to get too rough with an old man

+ It hasn’t crossed his mind how that can change when he attains a younger body, but he wouldn’t be completely opposed to the idea once it does

+ Date-wise, he prefers the intimacy of a private dinner, likely at your home if you have a knack for cooking. (If you’re an islander like he was, then the seafood cuisine made by your skill is probably the one thing he misses from his old home. Minus you, of course.) He wholeheartedly praises the food at the end of every meal you share

+ He can easily talk for hours, which you don’t mind in the least because he can be an incredible storyteller. No doubt he has a knack for writing, too, but the way that he describes his experiences in the outside worlds when face to face is so much more enthralling than what he tells you in his letters. The history of the Keyblade War is one that he’ll never get tired of retelling--he means to reenact it as well, after all

+ Since visits are far and few between, those letters are your mode of communication with Xehanort. You don’t know how they manage to reach between the worlds, but his replies to you always arrive on the dot every couple of weeks. The time between them will eventually increase with the progression of his plans—something he doesn’t divulge to you, but he does express regret at how they take away time he could be speaking with you

+ In the end, his plans always take precedence. His heart may hold the tiniest shard of regret that the path that he has chosen did not include you, but it would be buried under the darkness he has welcome into his heart. Perhaps when he makes Kingdom Hearts his own, he can use it to shape a world and a future in which you can be together happily

An excellent question, nonnie! Here you go~

AnsemBelieve your mod when she says she really wanted to avoid a pun, but her best efforts were futile. Ansem, or Xehanort’s Heartless, would prefer a s/o who is submissive in nature. He dominates both in and out of the bedroom, though more subtly on the outside. He doesn’t expect you to be a mindless slave; there are already plenty of puppets at his disposal. A small touch of independence is acceptable because that provides the drive to further one’s knowledge. Ansem seems the type to enjoy a good debate, so an interest in philosophy or other such matters would better your odds of gaining his approval. On the other hand, you will need to have the emotional strength to accept his far from uplifting beliefs. An ignorant person with no desire to better themselves would be utterly intolerable. That would be the biggest turn off for him, so overall he looks for mental and emotional maturity in a potential partner. A love of curry also helps.

AquaTainted by darkness though she is, Aqua still longs to be near the light. Thus, a person with kindness and hope as their most notable features is the kind of person this Seeker of Darkness would be interested in. Especially if you can look past how broken she’s become and still see the goodness that used to define her. She has difficult believing that the good still exists, but having you near makes the possibility easier to think about. Your love holds a power over her that even Xehanort cannot compete with. Aqua would be very protective of you when it comes to the other Seekers. Something about your innocence brings back the old Aqua, and she is hellbent on keeping that light safe even if she has to steep herself further in darkness to do so. She may never break free from Xehanort’s grip, but she likes to imagine the life you could have together if her heart was free to offer you half of it.

VanitasCompassion is weakness in Vanitas’ eyes, so anyone who has the guts to try grabbing his attention will need to have a sharp tongue and most likely a strong body to back it up (unless he’s under orders from Xehanort not to start trouble). He will be anything but warm to someone trying to get on his good side; if anything, he’ll think you’re trying to manipulate him. If you’re truly determined to make him see that you mean well, you may have to prepared to rough him up at least verbally as a way of reasoning with him. Showing that you can hold your own against a literal source of hatred will give him a marginally less awful opinion of you. Patience will be absolutely necessary here because he’s nearly incapable of processing his emotions healthily. He risks hurting himself just from trying to consider that you may actually care about him, so lay down the backbone you displayed earlier before approaching this broken boy any further. True strength is being able to show compassion to people of the dark like himself. It will be a difficult lesson to teach him, but one that will help him come to terms with his feelings and reach the next step in being able to call you his.

XehanortAn insatiable desire for answers and experiences is something that Xehanort would wish to see in someone who could be called his significant other. Having that common ground with him is the only way to catch the attention of someone who’s so consumed by the need to escape from a trivial daily life and see what life has to offer. A homebody would definitely not suit him. His ideal partner would always be ready for the spontaneous venture with him. Being the only one from his island with that longing must have been incredibly lonely, so Xehanort will have a deep appreciation of your enthusiasm for exploring. Witnessing the glow of wonder in your eyes when you gaze upon the new place he’s shown you will make him feel like there’s a connection deepening between you both. It’s very much like the classic aquarium date.

Headcannons for Aqua acting as a big sister/mother figure to a younger female friend of hers who has been hurt emotionally by others and struggles with fighting off the darkness

OHOHOHO thank you, anon, for sending our first Aqua request! Bear in mind, though, that for this event I’m writing Seeker!Aqua, or Aquanort, who I headcanon as very different from the blue-eyed Aqua we all know and love.

This ended up being one of my longer requests yet so I’m leaving it under a cut! Warning for a little bit of violence and general sadness. Oops. I told you guys I really wanted to write some angst~

+ When she’s first lost to the Realm of Darkness, your absence leaves a gaping hole in her heart, accompanied with those left by Terra and Ven. She spends the next decade wandering the void and the uncertaintly eating away at her. She may never know if or when Ven will wake up, if Terra will ever be free, how you will cope without her to watch over you

+ Her fears are not unfounded; those years are a tremendous struggle for you without Aqua’s familiar and comforting presence at your side. The memory of her gently patting your head and telling you to always smile is what keeps you going. The four of you would always be together, that’s the promise she made along with the Wayfinder in your favorite color. The charm never leaves your person, lest you turn into a shaking mess without your only physical reminder of the one who was family to you in all but blood

+ The fact that you’re still alive, over ten years later, defies all your expectations and explanations. It just feels like you’re going through the motions, a monotonous shell of who you used to be, ever since your light faded years ago. Another day that barely registers in your mind has turned to another night where you stare into the shadows with a haunted expression, consumed by its tempting whispers. That tiny charm clutched between your fingers is the only anchor that keeps you from drowning in the darkness

+ The voice that whispers your name is delicate, but you feel like someone just punched a hole through your chest all the same. Your thousand yard stare turns into one of disbelief as an eerily familiar form steps out of the dark

+ The long and agonizing years have turned her hair a shining silver but her face has been untouched by age. Those beautiful ocean-blue eyes have also become sharp gold, holding none of the kindness that seemed endless whenever she looked at you

+ Aqua only nods in response when you say her name, not even reacting to the crack in your voice. She lets you hold her as tightly as you wish while you sob into her chest. You thought you would never be able to look away from that face if you ever got to see her again, but you end up keeping your head bowed while you cry. The way she gazes down at you stoically is unbearable, but how can you ask for any more after how long you’ve been apart?

+ She notes that you’ve grown, but you haven’t gotten any stronger since she last saw you. All the progress she made with you has been undone, so now she’ll have to start from scratch. Her emotionless tone is… frightening, and you don’t know how to cope with that, but you know that you can’t stand to lose her again, so you frantically agree that you’ll try your best. Letting her down now would be… unimaginable

+ Your knowledge with the Keyblade before Aqua disappeared was scant, and you barely practiced over the years (every time you summoned it, you remembered the feeling of her hand over yours to show you how to properly hold a weapon, and that made your Keyblade more deadly to you than anyone you could point it at). She picks up where you both left off, but she’s merciless this time

+ “You have to be strong,” she orders you again and again. “If you’re not, the darkness will overtake you and you’ll fail.” There’s a rare flash of emotion in her amber eyes before she takes a fighting stance. “Like I did. I don’t want to see that happen to you. So I’ll do whatever it takes to make you stronger.”

+ There’s none of the nurturing that Aqua used to shower you with when you practiced with her. She’s still efficient with healing magic, as she casts it on you after training so that you don’t have any lasting marks. You both know well enough that your heart is suffering enough to see her as she is now

+ She isn’t downright cruel, but she’s not sympathetic either. Over and over, she will tell you how important it is to be strong and that you can’t ever give in. If you show promise and defy her with the little bit of light you have left, she’ll show her approval—even if it’s a husk of the warmth that you remember radiating from her. But if your light doesn’t get stronger… well…

+ You might have no choice but to submit to the darkness like she had to. It isn’t all that bad, Aqua tells you with a pained and bitter smile. Her hand runs through your hair with the same care that she showed ten years ago, and the twisted familiarity of it makes it feel like spider cracks are forming in your heart

+ Master Eraqus had it wrong about the darkness, Aqua says. Now that she is the Master, it’s her duty to guide you to the proper path. There is plenty of strength to be found in darkness. She’ll even give you a demonstration, tearing through enemies with her new dark powers. She fights like a monster now, completely different from the graceful yet fearless way she would dance across a battlefield. She has no reaction to the way you tremble as she stalks toward you after the battle—no, the slaughter. She merely puts a hand on your shoulder and says she understands that it’s frightening to see at first. But soon, you’ll understand the power that darkness has to offer. Until that time comes, she’ll keep you safe

+ Aqua’s final test is facing you against one of the people who hurt you in the past. Her training has left you plenty strong enough to well and truly kill them, and that’s what she intends for you to do. They hurt you, they deserve punishment for what they did to you. The line between justice and vengeance is thin, but if you’re strong enough to cross it, then you’re ready for everything darkness has to offer you

+ Resisting will just make her yell at you. It’s true, you hate this person and once you might have even dreamed of this moment. But now, looking at the woman who you loved like a sister and seeing what you could become if you give in, makes you want to keep this a dream and not reality. Aqua will raise her voice as she orders you once more to take back the pain and rage this person made you feel. Your heart will break and your eyes will overflow with tears, but you choose the light that she offered you so long ago

+ The glare in her newly golden eyes is something that will haunt you for the rest of your life, but she stops pushing you once you voice your opposition. Fine, she says. You might be too weak to embrace your hatred, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t. Her Keyblade appears in flash of shadows, and you’re totally hollowed out and refilled with horror as you realized what she’s about to do

+ Aqua’s wrath falls upon your abuser and it’s over before you can think to scream at her. She watches their heart fade and be consumed by darkness, refusing to turn around and see you fall to your knees. If your entire being wasn’t wracked with sobs, you would see her shoulders loosen in defeat

+ “I was wrong about you,” she whispers. You’re in too much hysterics to notice that she sounds close to tears too. “You aren’t ready for this. I… I’m sorry, [Y/N].”

+ She finally turns around, only to lightly tap you with a Sleep spell. You’re in no shape to get back home like this, so she picks up your unconscious form to take you back

+ There used to be so many nights where Aqua would be the last person you’d see before falling asleep, passing out on her shoulder or lap on many occasions. Aqua finds the will to fight Xehanort’s influence just enough that her own tears can flow as she tucks you into your bed. She never wanted it to be like this. She’s wiped away your tears before countless times, but they were never caused by her. There’s no way she has to right to do so now after what she’s become.

+ “Goodnight, and… goodbye, [Y/N],” she says quietly. “It’s for the better that we don’t meet again like this. But just know… that I’m proud of you.”

+ A pained hiss escapes her as the fragment of that older heart in her heart reinforces its influence, and she quickly pulls herself away from your bed as if she fears infecting you with it. She obediently summons a corridor to return to the other Seekers of Darkness. Before stepping through it, she takes one last, fond glance over you and engraves this memory in her heart

+ She may be frustrated with your ‘failure’, she might even envy you for having a stronger light than she did, but she could never bring herself to hate you. In the end, maybe she truly was wrong about everything. She prided herself a servant of light, and always feared your struggle with the darkness. Now it seems fate has deemed you more fit to be a Guardian and she was cursed to be a Seeker of Darkness

+ If that’s the case, Aqua hopes she can entrust you to the last little bit of light she has; the love she can still feel for you and her friends even now

Can I have some Vanitas relationship headcanons?

Yeeeeeeees!!! I refuse to take responsibility for going overboard on this.Blame nonnie for giving me such a general request; I had no choice~

+ For some extra feels, please check out “Love Like You” because it’s a wonderful song and perfectly sums up a relationship with Vanitas

+ To establish a relationship with him, you’ll need to possess a lot of tenacity. Eventually, you can smooth out his rough edges enough for him to consider spending more time with you on a daily basis

+ Now that you’ve proven your toughness, this will be the time to show Vanitas how soft you are underneath it, because god this boy will need it. His road to recovery will be a very long one and only your balance of strength and kindness can keep him along the path

+ The first year or so is the most challenging. He won’t like to communicate it, but Vanitas is extremely insecure. There’s no way someone as good as you will want to stick with him in the long run, he’ll just let you down. He’s even tried pushing you away more than once just to test you, but so far you haven’t backed down. You just need to give him a simple reassurance that he’s stuck with you and that’s that. Looking into his eyes to show the honesty of your words will get him flustered, so he’ll just squirm away and change the subject

+ Be careful not to lay it on too thick with the compliments. Insecurity plays into paranoia, so Vanitas will be frustratingly stubborn about accepting your kind words if you shower him with that. It will be a difficult balance to find, but that struggle will pay off in the end when he finally has a stable sense of self esteem and the confidence to accept and return your love

+ Of course, no one is ever completely cured of mental illness, so the negativity will have its comebacks now and then. Some times it manifests into arguments between you both, which escalates the cycle because now he feels twice as bad for taking it out on you

+ At this point the negativity is physically manifesting as Unversed, which is to be expected. What you didn’t expect is that instead of wreaking havoc in the worlds, all these newborn Unversed are… clinging to your legs for attention?

+ The first thing Vanitas wants to do is destroy them outright, because facing his ugly emotions given physical form is painful enough without you having to see them with your own eyes. To him, the Unversed’s existence is undeniable proof that he’s unlovable that even you, the one person who he cares what they think of him, can’t deny this

+ But knowing that he will just damage himself, you stop Vanitas from destroying his Unversed. Your alternative is literally killing them with kindness by giving them the affection they so clearly desire from you. At the same time, you tell Vanitas that this doesn’t make him a monster, and that his feelings, even in this form, they do matter. The Unversed look pleased in their own odd way and are reabsorbed into their master’s body without any need for violence. He looks at you like you single handedly cracked open the world to show him its heart

+ It’s a huge step in your relationship. His confidence skyrockets at that point, and the energy he had as his old self comes back. Those sharp edges do grow back a little, but they only get used on people who deserve them. Anyone who gets really close to you or is rude to you falls under this category

+ Jealousy and possessiveness are his game. He’s fine with the majority of your friends (and he may even be a little jealous of you for having some), but any males that you don’t know? Hooo boy are they in for a treat

+ Vanitas already look sulky in public, even with you. The sulking goes from a casual 20 to 80 when someone gets too close to you for comfort. He’ll put a hand around your wrist or waist and tell them to back off, tone cold enough to show there’s no room for argument. You might be able to calm him down, but he’ll still huff and refuse to move from your side until you can both take your leave

+ He also gets aggressive when it comes to your own insecurities. If you voice a negative opinion about yourself, Vanitas is already on his feet, muscles tensed up and Keyblade in hand, asking demanding to know who told you that. You are the best thing to ever happened to him, so questioning your goodness is extremely dangerous territory for him. He might even get frustrated with you because he just can’t believe how you would think of yourself that way, after all you’ve done to help him there. It takes him a while to learn how to comfort you properly, but he’s determined to know how he can do right by you

+ Vanitas is curious about the nuances of daily life since he never got to have such a thing until now, but he prefers to show that side of himself to you only, so you get all the questions. It’s almost kind of clingy, how he’ll only try things that you do first. He’ll want to be involved in almost every little thing, or at least show interest in it. “What are you doing to your hands?” “Just painting my nails.” “…Why?” “Because it looks good! Wanna try it?”

+ And that’s how Ventus ends up faced with his dark half gloating about the new black shine of his fingernails. “Look what [Y/N] did for me. It’s amazing, just like everything about them. And they’re all mine. I bet you’re just writhing with envy.” “Haha, good for you, Vanitas.”

+ There’s one thing Vanitas is right about: you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to him, and dealing with the guy has become so much easier since. Ven is really grateful for that, so he plays along with the moment because who is he to deny his other half this?

Seeker Week is now live!

From the time of this announcement until next Monday, August 20th at 11:59pm (Central US Time), I will be accepting headcanon requests for the Seekers of Darkness!

This includes Xehanort*, Ansem, Vanitas and Aqua!

*I will write young Xehanort by default if the request isn’t specific, but if anyone wants old man Nort then go off I guess???

Since we already know former Organization XIII members fall under this group, they will NOT be counted for this event! My reasoning for this is that I already take requests for the original thirteen members, so I would prefer this event to be aimed at characters who I wouldn’t write otherwise. This means no Xemnas, Braig, Isa, etc. Thank you for understanding!

+ One of the biggest compromises that comes with dating Xigbar is the fact that you will have to deal with his snoring. One could almost commend him for the ability to be so obnoxious both in and out of consciousness. Your only hope of muffling his snores is to let him wrap himself around you so he can bury his face in your neck or hair. Not only will that make the snoring significantly more quiet, but the the warm breath will also help you sleep more comfortably.

+ Snoring tendencies aside, Xigbar prefers to have his arms around you in general. Despite the gangly limbs, they keep you in a pretty secure grip so don’t expect to be free until morning. Unless you need a late night trip to the bathroom, a firm kick to his shin will make him release you. He enjoys sleep too much to bother complaining more than a tired grumble.

+ He likes to put that long hair of his to good use, and that serves one very specific purpose: being touched by you during cuddly time. He doesn’t even mind if you braid the gray-streaked locks. Anyone who’d tease him about it is obviously just jealous ‘cause he looks cute as hell that way. Playing with his hair makes the Freeshooter putty in your hands without fail. At the same time, pulling his hair in a moment of irritation would probably just earn you a filthy moan.

+ Xigbar is a big fan of kisses in bed, particularly of the sloppy type. Tiredness be damned, nothing’s going to keep his hands or mouth off you. Hearing your giggle when he clings to you for half a dozen kisses might be his favorite way to wake up in the morning. There are more than a few instances where his kisses get intense and turn into love bites, but how that proceeds is entirely up to you. Feel free to smother him with a pillow if you’re cranky from lack of sleep. There’s probably a bet going on within the Organization as to how long it will take for you to snap and do that to him.

+ He always stays within reach of you outside of the bedroom as well. It would take some pretty extreme circumstances for him not to be lounging with you in the Grey Area at the same time. And nothing short of two broken arms are going to keep him from slinging one over your shoulder while you hang out. Pats and shoulder rubs are very frequent. You’re welcome to sleep with your head on his shoulder; he would think it’s the damned cutest thing. It’s fortunate that your boyfriend has gravity powers which allow him to shoot would-be pranksters from any direction without disturbing your sleeping form in the least.

+ Be forewarned that it's going to take several months for Larxene to be comfortable with touching for intimacy's sake alone. It's the very kind of vulnerability that she was glad to escape from after losing her heart, so you will need to be very patient as she grows accustomed to the idea of experiencing that again. She doesn't even communicate to you when she's finally ready for it

+ Your lucky break comes right after a tough mission that was just barely completed, and it left you collapsed in a heap on your bed. Larxene comes in to check on you, miffed that you didn't seek her out right away after coming back, but all the harsh features on her face disappear when she sees you battered and bruised

+ She doesn't say anything as you recount the mission's event, words muffled by your pillow and exhaustion. Tiredness wins out over curiousity so you don't even lift your head at the sudden dip of your mattress when she sits close to you

+ You do, however, tense up rather visibly when your hair is being combed through with slender fingers, albeit clumsily. Those fingers draw away instantly like the shift in your body language physically stung her. You turn over to ask Larxene why (did you stop) and she snaps that "she's not good with this comforting crap"

+ She makes a face when your eyes plead for her to continue, but rolls her own before reaching out to fix your hair, which is still disheveled from the mission. You can't help but close your eyes and lean into her touch. She manages to be nice enough to not recoil at your vulnerable action and expression, and she's definitely not grinding her teeth

+ If the Savage Nymph had a heart, it would be pounding with so much uncertainty right now. She knows that and she loathes it, but she can't bring herself to loathe the look of utter need on your face, and the power over you that you're leaving in the hand which is cupping your cheek

+ Needless to say, it's a huge step for Larxene. Now she can slowly make progress on fulfilling your wish for affection since the first attempt didn't end in disaster

+ The flirtatious touches she would give to other members like Axel come to a sudden halt; now you're the only one she places her hands on. Her touches are surprisingly un-PDA for her usual taste because it's just... not that simple with you. Kingdom Hearts forbid anyone think Larxene's getting all soft over her girlfriend, that will just be the death of her

+ However, she makes concessions like slinging an arm over your shoulder in front of her fellow members. This is usually followed with a TMI statement about her relationship with you, because if the others are going to tease you both then by god they're going to suffer with you

+ Whether you're taller or shorter than her, Larxene has a habit of taking your chin in one hand to make sure you're listening. Giving her your undivided attention will earn you a smirk and a "good girl" while she caresses your cheek with her thumb
