We've wanted to do a mix of songs connected by their use of Ooos and Aaas for a while. When @paxicorecords invited us to do a mix, we knew it was the perfect opportunity, as they're a label known for just the type of lush, diverse, experimental, tongue-in-cheek artistry we wanted to highlight. A lot of fun was had in the process. Maybe a little too much at times - but hope you enjoy. 😃

Ladies first! To continue our celebration of Women’s Month, Zephyr Annwill be joining us on the decks this week! When we first heard Zephyr Ann at Sister’s...we were like "who's this chic?!!"! She was rockin' the hell out of 'Love Come Down' — which is a song you hear all the time, but she gave it this crazy rhythmic flavor with like multiple horn stab hits at the beginning (may have been an edit come to think of it lol), but she still rocked it right. When I was 18, head-nodding at St. Andrews w/ DJ Houseshoes every week in my shell toes/timbs, I would've never imagined that a couple years later, I'd be in my college dorm room working on building a website to release "The Official Jay Dee Instrumental Series" on Bling47. So grateful for his ear, his music, his legacy - and all the ways that it has enriched my life via musical discovery, all the awesome people I've met along the way, and the joy of listening to someone truly fulfilling their deepest passion. Boulaone is a DJ/producer/arranger living in the North of France. Hungry for new experiences he is searching for musical inputs in different places as Algeria (where he has part of his roots), Kenya, Senegal, Mauritania…As a member of DJ Grazzhoppa's DJ Bigband he introduces his own musical influences towards the group. His musical approach reveals his love for soul, rhythm, digital beats and oriental elements. Various artists recognize him for his special clear cut skills and he is often asked to do remixes or sound designs for videos or exhibitions. We’ve noticed him on stage or studio with diverse artists as Kool Keith, Gnawa Diffusion, Ji Mob, Rob Swift, Kutmasta Kurt, the Shape Shifters, Jamalski.
