so to speculate on aki's age, since he's old enough to drink and smoke, he has to be at least 20 (since that's the legal age to do both of those things in japan) himeno makes a big deal about him not being allowed to smoke as a minor, and he went out drinking with police officers, so I think it's pretty safe to assume he's over 20 years old

there's also this line, where he mentions that he hasn't gone out drinking in six months, which I think implies he's not freshly 20, probably at least 21/22

we know that he's been working under makima for three years, and he also worked at division 2 prior, so he's got to be a seasoned devil hunter with plenty of experience

there's also this flashback here. this happens thirteen years ago, and although it's difficult to tell exactly how old aki is, I think he's got to be at least 10-11 years old.

this would make him 23/24 currently, which I think makes sense given the order of events we know about

he became a devil hunter and met himeno when he was still a minor (a minor in japan is anyone who's under 20) and judging by his appearance in those flashbacks, I think he was probably 14-17 years old. he worked under division two until he was 20-21, and then started working at division four under makima.

i cannot express how much i love these kinds of angst filled posts about a tragedy of a character like aki hayakawa...

his childhood was destroyed that day but now he gets to spend the rest of his death in it. in a world where devils never exist and his brother is alive and happy, and he is happy, and while the world is not quite right it is still, happy.

I made another boy (months ago). It’s not as fanciful or nice as Emilio’s post, but this is Cecil Mugwort 🌿 Twisted from Cedric the Sorcerer from “Sofia the First.” Apologies for my handwriting.

When I watched that dang show making a twst Cedric was always on the back-burner as kinda a joke idea, but it never actually came to fruition with flying colors ‘till I learned NRC sophomores share a room with one other person. Then came the painful question of “oh god can u imagine how miserable Silver’s roommate must be with all those dang alarm clocks-“ THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE USELESS SOFIA KNOWLEDGE CAME FLOODING BACK—

The amount of shenanigans that can fit into this rat is insane (so much so I couldn’t fit it here). I hope u like him as much as I’ve been quietly invested in the background the last gajillion months.
