Bitter Sweet Symphony - Marc Marquez + His Team (Repsol Honda)
If you'd like to read me wax poetic about Marc click beneath the cut.
What can I even begin to say about Marc Marquez.
The very first thing I ever watched that had to do with MotoGP was Hitting the Apex (a must watch btw). I remember being vaguely familiar with Valentino Rossi and then suddenly this "kid", Marc Marquez came into the equation to replace Casey Stoner. In the documentary, they go into Marc's 125cc and Moto2 eras. At first, I remember thinking, "who is this dickhead?", "why is he constantly crashing into people?". But as I watched more and more of the doc, I couldn't help but root for Marc. He was so young, but soooo talented. And I remember seeing Santi and Emilio crying and thinking, "wow, what a truly special person to make people feel such emotion." And I still hold by that sentiment today, Marc moves people.
What has always stood out to me about Marc is that he is unabashedly and unashamedly himself... always. Even when being put down by the "God" of their sport as a 22 year old. I remember myself at 22, if someone had bad mouthed me in front of the world I would have shriveled up and died right then and there. But Marc, Marc won, and won, and won, and won some more. He dominated MotoGP for years. He never backed down from who he was and how he rode a motorcycle.
Then 2020, the dark era. Obviously a lot happened behind the scenes during this time. But how Marc handled it, both publicly and privately I think is truly admirable.
To me, Marc Marquez deserves the world. He deserves all of the love and admiration. And now in 2025, it seems that people are truly starting to see that Marc is a genuinely good human being.
But before all of that, his team, Repsol Honda was his sanctuary and that is what this video is. A dedication to him and his team (mostly Santi) because they were together through thick and thin. They love each other and Marc had to leave them to prove to himself and the world that he was still worthy.

"No one knew it, but there's a gift from Marc Márquez to Ducati that tells us everything about him, about the sport, and about this MotoGP."
There are many ways to tell the story of Marc Márquez’s determination in these recent seasons. The four surgeries on his right arm, for instance — culminating in an operation in a Minnesota clinic to rotate the humerus and restore optimal mobility. Or the goodbye to Honda, with all that came with it: leaving behind the people with whom he had spent most of his racing career, and making significant financial sacrifices. Easy to accept now, but a lot harder two years ago. Just like the decision to spend a year racing with Team Gresini — a team made up of capable and professional people, but clearly not offering the same level of structure and attention as a factory outfit like HRC.
But there’s another, previously untold anecdote circulating in the halls of Borgo Panigale. It’s 2024. Marc Márquez is in a room with Ducati executives — likely Claudio Domenicali and Gigi Dall’Igna. They’ve discussed various aspects of the contract, even the thorny ones: the departure from Red Bull — a brand Marc has been tied to for most of his career — in favor of Monster Energy, its main competitor, now displayed on his suit and bike. The rider also had to give up Samsung as a personal sponsor, since Ducati has a deal with Lenovo, which owns Motorola. There’s back-and-forth negotiation, tense smiles, compromises.
Then comes a key part of the negotiation: defining the salary. According to what MOW has learned, Gigi Dall’Igna, with his usual pragmatic sharpness, looked at the Spaniard and asked what figure he had in mind. Moments of real tension — it could’ve felt like a Mexican standoff. Marc had always earned mountains of money, and Ducati didn’t have HRC-sized budgets. But the silence didn’t last long.
Marc Márquez looked at them, smiled, and said: “You decide the number.” He said he didn’t care, he was already set for life — great-grandkids included — and all he wanted was to win. That’s what Marc said.
On the other side of the table, they were stunned. They knew they were facing a man willing to do anything to win, but they hadn’t expected this.
That tells us a lot about Marc Márquez — who he is, what he’s willing to do to stay on top, how enormous his hunger still is, even with eight world titles already in hand. The motivation. Not pressing for a paycheck is a way to shift the focus elsewhere — but also to enter the garage with the best possible attitude. Marc smiles, energizes his team, focuses on giving rather than taking.
#he deserves everything in the world#no one does it like him#marc marquez#motogp#the most humble bitch to ever be

I really debated posting this as I'm really not happy with it, but I worked for way to long on it... Hoping to come out with a better video soon.
