I admit I wasn't expecting that animated segment at the start of Joker 2 (and it turns out it WAS made by an actual animator. Specifically the guy behind The Triplets of Bellville). And the whole 'Shadow taking over the Joker/Arthur' was amusing, but then I'm reminded of that Hans Christian Anderson story 'The Shadow' and then the cartoon suddenly becomes a lot darker than it already is, in addition to the apparent symbolism/forshadowing (no pun intended).

#joker 2 #i loved the film but the reference to andersen was the highlight I LOVED IT #for real made me emotional #it's such a clever thing
