Feeling rough lately.

Lahiri is the crew's gunner, he is a talented shooter and he is a dynamite expert. He's an odd old merman, Lahiri is absolutely certain that he can be a mentor to all young folks, Bea included. He let himself on board during one of his many travels (he's a traveling merman) and he never got off, quite happy with the ospitality of the rest of the crew. His new friends accepted him in, and they quickly understood that it is pointless to try and question his random choices. Occasionally Lahiri can be a good adviser, but most of the time he's just saying stuff.

Francesco is the cook. He is a very chatty and flamboyant merman, he has a sunny disposition, but deep down he is quite insecure. Cooking brings him so much joy, he loves to try new ingredients and new combinations. Francesco loves to feed his friends and family, and his new crew gives him a lot of satisfaction: in his old job he had to make the same dishes over and over again, and he was getting tired. Bea lived near the restaurant he used to work in, and Ester and her went by so often that they befriended Francesco. After another job delusion and the end of his former relationship (Francesco is a very romantic man, but none of his relationships ever got to the one year anniversary), the cook was listening to Bea's plan of sailing the sea, and decided to ask her to tag along.

Ginko is the ship's helmsman. Hanna invited him onboard: they met while they were both working in the same crew and they stayed good friends; they even have a matching tattoo…. it was a drunken decision. He looks like a serious and cold man, but he's actually a softie. As a young boy he used to help his parents with their job: they were merchant and he learned quite early how to navigate. He became a pirate because he was getting bored of his repetitive job, and to make more money, but he feels quite guilty about it: his old parents don't know about his choice yet. This new crew makes him feel better: it way more adventurous than dangerous.

Hi! Here there is another crew member of the Shell,s pirate! @icestorming drew her so well, she is everything I imagined and more!

Ester is the doctor of the crew. She is a caring and patient woman, and she knows Bea since the capitan was a little (mer)kid: they lived in the same merfolks city, and Bea was absolutely terrified of needles. Ester loves Bea like a mother, and she often acts like one still. The doctor is half mermaid half human, she understands both cultures and she often acts as a mediator. Bea asked her to go with her as soon as Hanna accepted her offer. Ester chose to go to try and start a new chapter of her life: two years before the crew was formed she lost her husband, Daniel, and it's been hard for her to move on.

Hi everyone!

I wrote a short story about this lovely crew. Every member of this colourful group was looking for a fresh start, a good reason to leave their old life behind, and they found it together. You'll get to know them better in a few days!! The amazing @icestorming created the characters with me and she gave them life with her amazing drawings (💕💕)

I admit I wasn't expecting that animated segment at the start of Joker 2 (and it turns out it WAS made by an actual animator. Specifically the guy behind The Triplets of Bellville). And the whole 'Shadow taking over the Joker/Arthur' was amusing, but then I'm reminded of that Hans Christian Anderson story 'The Shadow' and then the cartoon suddenly becomes a lot darker than it already is, in addition to the apparent symbolism/forshadowing (no pun intended).
