Are you picky about the period of poetry? examples being modern poetry vs poetry from a romantic era or smthn
no not picky at all!! i just don't vibe with poetry like atticus/rupi kaur etc that was popular a couple years ago. i enjoyed richard siken when it comes to contemporary poets, i also read some ocean vuong, but i haven't really tried much else. otherwise, i mostly read german sturm und drang, classic and romantic era poetry (pretty much anything 18th/19th century) as well as modern poetry (modern as in modern era, not contemporary, i love rilke for example). i am open for anything pretty much that is NOT that haha

I had some lowkey bad bad blood pressure issues which caused me to slow down with work today so in my moment of weakness I ordered my first Mary Oliver collections. I desperately need poetry recommendations since I want to branch out and not just stick to classic german poetry as I did before, so if you have any pls <3
#no rupi kaur/atticus type stuff though pls I’ve seen enough of that#idk if anyone here is into poetry as well though but!! worth a try#poetry

i recently started telling myself don’t let this platform rage bait you and then scroll, block or unfollow whoever posted the thing that annoyed me, no matter which platform it is, and honestly life-changing. the only people who want me to be mad at a person with a different opinion is one of the stupid rich guys who are currently neck-deep in a neo-fascist‘s ass and i won’t let them.

maybe the saddest thing about my existence atm is that I can’t have more than one caffeinated coffee per day and have to drink decaf after that if I don’t want my stress-induced high blood pressure to prematurely kill me
#look I don’t drink I don’t smoke I don’t do drugs the caffeine is my only affliction#who am I without it
