FFXIV tanking is literally the easiest job in the game since aggro management is non-existent. You literally hit your AOE and press cooldowns. That's it. The only time DPS pulling is bad is when they are running around like a headless chicken. Just bring the mobs to the tank in that case.
The only reason so many people are terrified of or angry at anyone but the tank pulling because they are terrified of wiping, and it being blamed on them. Wipes happen guys, Dust yourself off and try again. And if it's too much for whatever reason, talk like an adult that y'all need to do smaller pulls.
This passive-aggressive, mealy-mouthed vague posting reveals that many people of this Great Community By The Way are unable to manage their social anxiety, are bad at the game, and need any reason to justify not changing.
In short, git gud scrub.
I am begging dps players who pull to just play tank instead

Whenever I see someone who's new to Animal Crossing winging on the internet or in articles about how the problems they have with the game, I feel conflicted. On one hand, it's obvious that they really don't understand what the game is about. But on the other hand, I want new people to come and play the game I love. And it's not like their feelings aren't genuine. I've resolved to not really get worked up over something so insignificant.
Those shitty webcomics though, like the one with Link getting bit by a Tarantula? 2003 called, and it also wants you to fuck off.

I know Tom Macdonald's whole appeal is that he's the rapper for insecure white boys who have been disenfranchised by late stage capitalism but are being swindled by far-right propaganda that says they are being "oppressed by minorities" for being asked to be less racist,

If you are actively sharing how hyped you are for Overwatch 2 or Diablo 4, then you are a coward.
Firstly, this does not target people who aren't actively posting support for Hong Kong or disdain of Blizzard. There's a ton happening in the world, many people don't feel comfortable weighing in on those conversations, and there is little that some people can do besides provide solidarity. You deserve no scorn or guilt for not posting about it.
HOWEVER, if you are an individual posting trailer gifs or expressing your hype for those games, then you're one of two types of people (maybe both):
1. You have no problem with the current, state-Capitalist (likely fascist) regime of the CCP and their many human-rights abuses.
2. You're a coward who's love for the shiny toys that Blizzard makes you is more important than any moral code, and you don't want to feel guilt over playing them. People's lives are provably less important to you than disposable entertainment.
Either way, despite your best efforts, you should feel guilty. Guilty of being complicit in a corporation's horrific actions to secure profits and pitiful attempts to brush that under a rug with a mealy-mouthed, non-apology that didn't even reference what Blizzard did wrong!
You're a coward, and cowards deserve nothing but scorn.

Literally, a lot of the ironic response posts to genuine "I'm not like other girls xD" posts that show the OP as some absurd thing like a crab are exactly the same as the posts they're responding to.
Like the only difference is that they think their performative self-awareness gives them an out when they shit on those posts.
It's ironic, performative mockery that wants validation in response to genuine, performative calls for validation.
The pictures the same, the frame is the only that changed.

D&D memes are like low-key infuriating
Like, I don't want to shit on anyone's fun, but these memes can be the fucking worst.
It's clear that they are made by people who either mistakenly believe or propagate bad ideas about what tabletop is and how it should be.
Like, how every bard is a loud, promiscuous liar because that's what insecure nerds think charisma is all about. Or how clerics/paladins have sticks up their asses unless they are just stupidly evil. Or how druids are boring animal/plant fuckers.
It's clear that there's no nuance in the storytelling or the humor. There's no interest in creating new ideas or bringing nuance to old ones. Just repeat lowest common denominator, overused jokes ad naseum that only basic-ass nerd bros would find relatable.

Here's your daily reminder that even though the gameplay upgrades in Persona 5 are stellar quality-of-life improvements, it is probably the worst written of series with inconsistent character writing, undermined and underdeveloped themes, and a distinct preference for fanservice over quality.

As some who's spent an ungodly amount of hours playing SMT: Persona 1 - 4, as well as the various spin off games (and took the messages about living life to the fullest/being a caring friend/empathizing with the pain of those around you/establishing a fair but solid moral code to heart), I only have 1 thing to say about Persona 5 two years after it came out:
It's the worst Persona game.
Here are some more things:
It handles it's themes the worst out of all the games.
It's incredibly sloppy with character building.
It doesn't have the good sense to leave some things unexplained, which means it shows it's ass more than it needs to
Oh god, it's main message about fighting against oppressive forces through action gets undermined at so many places by showing how characters just need to rely on the super special Joker and his super friends rather than actually deal with their shit.
The good bits (various social links, some story bits, the gameplay overhaul) are enough to relieve the crushing disappointment all the shitty things bring
God, Persona Q had a better story than this game.
It's such a shame. It's a goddamn shame.
If you liked it, I'm happy you can enjoy something. Good for you.
But I just can't anymore.

Some unsolicited DnD advice
If your character has a tragic backstory either because it's your easy way of giving your character pathos or it secretly makes them even cooler, I would suggest to choose a different backstory.
Not because it's an inherently bad idea. But I've seen too many people who aren't good enough players or role players to pull it off in a way that isn't embarrassing and extremely self-serving.
The same advice goes for any player who can only roleplay the emotions "generic interest" and "snarky asshole."

The fact that most D&D memes are unfunny jokes about how every player is an asshole who either wants to play a bard, messes around at the table, or intentionally makes the DMs life harder is really revealing about the people who make them.
As in, they are insecure, try-hard douches whose only coping mechanism with their insecurity is by being a loud, joke-telling asshole.
This ain't to dunk on people having fun at the table. But if your only goal at the table is to crack jokes and be a jackass, then kindly fuck off.

Persona 5 isn't that great.
And that sucks, because as someone who not only loves the Persona series, but whose personal worldview was shaped the themes of empathy and friendship, I really wanted to LOVE this game.
But, with the writing inconsistencies (characterization and theme, not plot), it's hard for me to love all the characters as well as see any depth in what the creators want to tell me. All I see is a well-polished, slick RPG that has some good moments, but SO many little things in the writing that undermine it that it's hard to see it as anything but slightly above average.
And that sucks, because Persona should be great!
I don't get any joy out of revealing these thoughts. I hope the fans understand it so that they don't think I'm trying to piss them off.

Since I'm talking about Pokemon so much anyway, I might as well say this.
ALL pokemon are well-designed and to say otherwise is to be ignorant and biased. This is probably gonna be my hottest of takes.
I'm done with genwunners whose unwillingness to try new things has clouded their ability to appreciate newer pokemon.
I'm also done with the new generation apologists who rarely have the full-blown conviction to call-out genwunners for their shallow opinions, revealing that their own opinions are fairly shallow (just with a veneer of centrist bullshit).
Here's an actual truth that a ton of people miss due to their unexamined love of nostalgia or "nerd chiche":
The philosophy behind Pokemon designs is to create a large, diverse cast so that they can appeal to everyone.
This has been the case since the beginning, and has become even more true as they adjust the series so that no one would feel excluded (such as including female protagonists, people of color characters, more approachable mechanics, easier to understand story, etc.).
By creating a large variety of Pokemon who draw from so many disparate sources, they can ensure that there will be something for everyone.
And in a game where one of the biggest appeals is constructing YOUR party, diversity of design is a good thing.
If a pokemon looks bad to you, it's because it wasn't made for you. It was made for people like me who always liked the weirder, more esoteric designs. It was made for people like me who always resented the aesthetic of "nerd chiche," and wanted something different.
There are no "badly designed" pokemon, because Pokemon is about a diverse world, meant for everyone, who all have different perspectives and different tastes, learning to come together to have fun and save the world.

You know, after these past couple days and seeing all the butthurt, immature, bizarre responses to a Pokemon game that changes things up from certain fans, I'm really glad that I just play these games and occasionally look at fanart.
Because the Pokemon fandom has a surprising amount of adults and teens who have invested too much of their identity into a child-friendly but fun RPG.
Like, I swear. You change some things to be more streamlined, but still engaging as well as not make the rival a complete piece of shit, and people just lose their goddamn minds!
Grow up! Gain perspective and critical thinking skills for once in your bland, unremarkable lives.

Like, for real, most of the complaints Pokemon gets nowadays are made by adults who forgot that they aren't the target audience anymore but are mad that an easy, child-friendly RPG doesn't cater to them like it did when they were children.
Please, make more Hot Takes about how a friendly rival is the worst thing in the world. Or how the game is too easy. Or about how a series that you're nostalgic over is bad now since you're older.
I'll be over playing a game I like.
