in a way, i understand the urge to explain helena's behavior solely with her less than optimal family situation, casually forgetting to bring up how her privilege comes into play. it makes the character considerably more sympathetic, if you push down the conversation about classism and power structures and go simply with "hurt people hurt people"
however, what stands out to me the most about this argument is how inherently flawed it is by the show's own logic. all of helena's stress from being raised by a cold unnurturing father, helly carries with her, she just doesn't know what it is. along with, you know, the stress and trauma from being locked in the corporate backrooms forever, not being treated like a person, etc. helly isn't some pure and unhurt version of helena, 99% of her existence has been living in a fucked up limbo
and yet we don't see her pulling any of that shit. is it because she's unhurt, or because she doesn't have the power to make it everyone else's problem?
i don't think it's an accident that, when they picked a scene to show helly's voice and facial expression morphing into helena's for the first time, they didn't go with any of the terrible situations helly's been in. instead they went with "don't you mean helly e?"

obsessed that devon could not have made this weirder for mark s if she'd tried. after spending weeks conspiring with his fellow innies to try and find his outie's wife, watching one of his co-workers get murdered right in front of him for daring to defy lumon, he wakes up in a heavily lumon coded cabin in the middle of nowhere with the sister he's met all of once but chose to trust implicitly. that sister then proceeds to treat him like a lost lamb being led to the slaughter, guiding him without explanation through this low lit empty cult cabin with gentle phrases like 'she just wants to talk'. then, when he finally gets upstairs, his crazy old boss who has been masquerading as his outie's neighbour, stalking him for god knows how long, is stood there waiting for him, literally enshrouded by hellfire.
I dunno, I feel like maybe that could've been handled better.

Here is a link to a Google Drive folder containing Severance S02E09 "The After Hours", as well as S02E08 "Sweet Vitriol" and S02E07 "Chikhai Bardo".
The episodes contain all available subtitles in 1080p. Open them with VLC Media Player, select "Subtitles" and choose the subtitles you'd like.
Same goes for:
S02E04-06 "Woe's Hollow", "Trojan's Horse" and "Attila",
S02E01-03 "Hello, Ms. Cobel", "Goodbye, Ms. Selvig" and "Who Is Alive?",
As well as the entirety of S01. Please note, that in order to enjoy subtitles with Season 01, they will have to be inserted manually via the zipped "Subtitles" folder enclosed. Start the episode with VLC Media Player, select "Subtitles", then "Subtitle Track", and select the corresponding episode's prefered subtitle. The subtitles do not persist between opening and closing the file.
Additionally, here is a link to a Drive folder containing "The Lexington Letter" as well as "The You You Are".
Should there be any issues or concerns, check this post's comments or let me know what I can assist you with.
Praise Kier.

Saying Harmony Cobel isn't an important enough character to have her own episode after it's revealed that she created the thing the show is named for is just embarrassing.

Hey. Pst. I have some Severance Season 1 hidden behind the dumpster.
i KEEP HEARING people talk about severance, and the trailer keeps showing up on the apple tvs at my school when my technically inept teachers fail to use the project function, so where do i watch it? what's the best place to do so, in your opinion?
The high seas are the best place to watch most shows, in my opinion.
Also I'm just now learning that apple tvs are a thing. Like I know that Apple tv is a streaming service, but you're saying there are tvs made by apple that show ads for their shows? Am I understanding this correctly?

oh so you thought existing only to perform a soulless office job was bad. how about existing only to go to the dentist. how about existing only in planes. how about existing only to perform stupid and repetitive yet socially expected tasks. how about existing only to withstand every unpleasant thing that somebody else decided to go without
