TW: Mass Shooting, Again
Another mass shooting.
Allen, Texas. Mall. Not a lot of details out yet but there’s deaths, including children.
Thoughts and prayers are useless.
THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE USELESS.

NC is the next abortion ban state. A 12 week abortion ban but here’s the fucking catch. Numerous doctors visits, paperwork and signatures and waiting periods. Basically making it near impossible to get an abortion ON FUCKING TOP of abortion clinics having to CLOSE and get re-licensed to be able to preform abortions.

Hello, me again.
I’m currently trying to get through a fucking week long twitter timeout for something I commented 🤷♀️ whatever. Anyway, since the last time I posted, a lot has happened across the Divided States of America.
More mass shootings.
More anti-LGBTQIA bills.
More banning and restricting women’s healthcare.
This shit is fucking exhausting and I don’t know how we’re all dealing with this shit without rioting.
And honestly, if it wasn’t for how fucking murderous America’s cops are, I’d say, FUCKING RIOT AND PROTEST like the French.
But American cops love to beat and kill people these days.
Don’t come at me with the “not all cops are bad” bullshit or “my (insert family member) is a cop and wouldn’t do that!” garbage.
This house is a ACAB, anti-cop house and until the entire system has been erased and cleaned out, I’ll remain anti-cop.

Graham lies about Democrats and others who support abortion rights saying they want to kill babies. Such trash talk. Expect all the Republicans to start trotting out all kinds of lies to deceive and divide Americans.

I could write a whole essay on the current fuckery. Everything is regressing versus moving forward. People thought Roe v Wade was untouchable, if they overturned that what else do you think they’ll overturn?
Also, since we are regressing. You’re not banning abortions, only banning safe ones. . . Extra side note, wording is important- abortion for all people that possess a uterus. Thank you💕
@plancpills has great resources . . .

Doctors in pro-choice states continue to be completely overwhelmed with out-of-state patients. The Texas Tribune reports that Trust Women in Wichita, Kansas fielded 16,000 phone calls to their hotline on one recent Monday alone. Most patients traveling to pro-choice states right now are from neighboring states with abortion bans: And in places like New Mexico, they’re seeing a huge number of women traveling from Texas. Amy Hagstrom Miller of Whole Woman’s Health, which just opened a clinic in Albuquerque, says that even with abortion fund help, the clinic can’t see everyone:
“The stark reality is, though, no matter what we do to try to make a flight free [or] a hotel free, the majority of Texans aren’t making it through. That doesn’t necessarily surprise me, because I know the lives of people that come to us for abortion services, but it's still just horrible to witness on our watch.”
Meanwhile, Texas lawmakers say there is no plan to introduce exceptions into the state’s abortion ban. When anti-choice groups were asked why they wouldn’t want clarifications to the law, given all of the horror stories coming out of the state (including one woman who ended up with sepsis in the ICU), the Texas Alliance for Life dismissed the problem: “Our laws are very clear.” Lovely.
Also in Texas, hundreds of doctors, researchers and health care providers traveled to Houston for the Maternal and Child Health Conference to talk about the increasing maternal mortality rate—especially among Black women. (The Houston Chronicle points out that discrimination as a factor in maternal mortality only started being tracked in the state in 2019.)

BREAKING NEWS: "Liberal judge Janet Protasiewicz won a critical seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court on Tuesday, giving progressives their first majority on the court since 2008 and a pathway to challenging the GOP’s decade-plus stranglehold on power in the Badger State.
Protasiewicz’s impact on the court could be felt quickly. She ran an outspoken race for a judicial candidate, criticizing the “rigged” maps and saying she believes that “women have the right to choose.” A challenge to the abortion ban is making its way through state court and progressive groups have vowed to challenge the redistricting maps—which give Republicans a near super-majority in the legislature despite Democrats having won 14 of the past 17 statewide elections—after the new judge is seated on August 1."

i think any conversation regarding banning tiktok that insists tiktok is actually a force for good misses the point
it doesn't matter if tiktok is the next library of alexandria or if it sucks shit, the problem is that the US government shouldn't have the authority to limit americans' access to the internet so dramatically. the problem is other social media corporations lobbying to ban their opponents. the problem is pretending data harvesting is just fine as long as we're the ones doing it, diverting attention away from how companies like facebook have already harvest and sold way more data than tiktok could ever dream of collecting for the chinese government.
