Week One: Summer of Love

i think it's really cool that most of BigB's tasks in secret life had something to do with either watching players or lying to them. I'm going to explain how they all fit into my Watcher!BigB theory/headcanon

Task 1.

the iconic task. My personal favorite. This task instructs BigB to seclude himself from the rest of the server. Throughout the series, numerous people say that the hole changed BigB. I believe that in the hole is where BigB was given his watcher status.

Task 2.

In this task, BigB has to create new names for every mob he encounters. To me, this feels like the Watchers are testing his capability to forget what he once knew and embrace something new. Much like how he has to embrace his new role as the Watcher of the server.

Task 3.

Here, BigB has to repeat conversations he has heard and get a player to claim deja vu. Though he failed this task, I think that was intentional. The Watchers wanted BigB to observe other players and not to get caught. By not completing his task, BigB proved he would be able to get away with watching the other players.

Task 4.

This task makes BigB compliment players when they take damage. This is the first task where he is specifically told to watch players, starting his journey as the servers Watcher. Additionally, I believe that complimenting another players injury helped desensitize BigB to the players pain.

Task 5.

Here, BigB is told to serve the reds with whatever they need. This task helped adapt BigB to taking orders, which makes it easier for The Watchers to control him. Also, the task separates him from his team by forcing an alliance with the reds.

Task 6.

In this task, BigB is told to watch for players taking damage and tell them to avoid it afterwards. This is the second task where he is told directly to watch the other players, and again, it revolves around damage. This time, by telling them to avoid the damage too late, BigB upsets the other players, creating a divide.

Task 7.

This task tells BigB to lie to the entire server about failing a fake task. Here, the Watchers are seeing BigB's ability to lie on a server wide scale to see how well he can hide his identity as a Watcher, much like his third task.

Task 8

Task 8 instructed BigB to harm a green player with a mob from an egg. This helps BigB understand the more 'hands off' approach The Watchers usually take within a season because he cannot be the one to inflict the damage. He has to use other means, similar to how The Watchers have to communicate through tasks rather than directly.

(BigB did have a ninth task, but it was 'Win Secret Life', so I don't count it)

TL;DR, Secret life is my favorite series, BigB is my favorite player, and I have too much time on my hands.

Kara - Witch, obviously

Apple - I get Gorgon vibes from her

Larry - He is an incubus. 100%

Bryce - Angel, but in a shitty way. Think Castiel but sillier and less depressed

Cheesy - Something weird. Slimy ocean monster? that feels right

Platy - Shapeshifter. He can change into animals and people

Gracie - Crossroads Demon. Ze keeps breaking her deals and she is pissed

Speedy - Werewolf

Sidearms - Vampire. He and Speedy have a Twilight thing going on.

Junk - Radagast from The Hobbit

Courtilly - Siren or Satyr

Tay - Banshee? Maybe

Jeremy - Medium or something to do with ghosts

Greg - Also a werewolf, but less Twilight and more Supernatural
