Signé à l’aube en forêt de Compiègne, l’arrêt officiel des combats entre en vigueur à 11h00. Le traité de paix ne sera quant à lui signé que le 28 juin 1919 à Versailles. Les armes se taisent après plus de 4 années de guerre et 9 millions de morts au total.
